  1. I didn't want to crowd the screenshot thread (which was getting dangerously off topic) but I know... but the Super can bring back at least 12 x AMRAAMs with full tank (just took off and trapped). Handling wasn't too rough, matter of fact normal for a jet loaded down that much.
  2. And the thing is you can bring back all of that ordnance too! (I was going to say something about outranging a Phoenix but...) Mandatory screenie
  3. Its bad enough I'm doing a night trap but this.... Drunk Ivan...
  4. Me: F-16I Sufa with 2 x GBU-10s, 2 x Python 4, 4 x AIM-120B, three tanks, gun. Opposition: Mig-21bis with 2 x Atoll, gun First off, one should take it easy with the Sufa when loaded down, and I purposefully did that. Performance with all that extra fuel makes the aircraft handle what one would call "a drunken cow". But since many of the enemies of Israel fly the Mig... well I thought it was appropiriate. The Mig did make a couple gun passes at me but they didn't connect and it took a while of evading the Fishbed but after about 5 minutes the Mig-21 turned and I downed with a HOBS Python-4 shot. Takeaways. As explained the Sufa when loaded down is no dogfighter but with perseverance it can be done as you have plenty of fuel to play with... It can push but you have to really push the plane to get a kill but its worth it in the end...
  5. Me: Me: F/A-18F with 4 x AIM-9X, 6 x AIM-120D, gun, tank Opposition: Mirage III Shahak with two AAMs and guns I started behind the Mirage III and after a little bit of rolling around (was just in the mood practicing HOBS shots) rolled into him and killed him with a HOBS 9X shot. Takeaways. I know this is one of my shortest DACTs but since I was more in tune with just getting some HOBS shot training I can't say too much about the Shahak. What I will say it's less maneuverable than a Mirage 2000 (which is a beast) but in the right circumstances it could get you, I just wasn't in the mood to let it. I will note however, that the older jets you don't have to burn as much fuel as I kept it mainly on military thrust (with the exception of a forced turn) but otherwise nothing notable in this one.
  6. F14-002.bmp is for the triangle, and -003 and -004 edit the ventral fins
  7. I'll go with saisran on this one as I was able tock a target at the 100 and 200 mile setting so maybe it's just what she said, more than likely jamming.
  8. Me: Mig-29K with 6 x R-74EM and 2 x AA-10Ds, gun Opposition: J35 "Bertil" Draken with two tanks, 2 x IRIS-T (AIM-2000), guns Fight started with me behind him and the Draken can dart around but the K can easily outmatch the Draken, especially if you keep your speedbrake extended. After some rolling around I managed to get on the Draken's six and out of pity shot it down with an R-74EM. Takeaways: Russo must have slipped the real FM back in the latest update as I didn't black out too easy, and it handled much more like I though it would. The real test however, was geared for the FM of the K Fulcrum and a much better improvement!
  9. http://562.50megs.co...torials/LST.zip Unzip it as it's a PDF file. Yeah its for LOMAC but the same rules apply... And thanks for the reminder Spinners, I may actually do one for WoX/SF2.... Note that the doc is old, GIMP works for a few people here (mainly because it's free) but Photoshop Elements is also a good way to create skins, a whole bunch of programs exist though, as long as they can open a PSD formatted template.
  10. Yep, he tried to fire on my E-2 as well, and when he didn't get any luck (I think it's having the AI explode after launch problem) he selected me, but he was also locked on me as well when he fired at the Hawkeye.
  11. Me: F-14D (06) with 2 x AIM-9M, 2 x AIM-7M, 4 x AIM-54C ECCM Sealed, gun, and tanks Opposition: F/A-18F with 4 x AIM-9X, 6 x AIM-120D, tank and gun. Started off with both of us heading towards each other (closing engagement) and after a minute or so I detected the Super and oriented myself towards it. After locking it up I still had some time before I could launch so I waited and saw what would happen. First the Super went for my Hawkeye, launching a missile (which somehow missed it) and then the Super launched on me. I threw on the jammer and it fired again… so after I finally got the HOT TRIGGER I launched my own Phoenix downing the bird. Takeaways: 1. The opposing AI does not jam, or if he was jamming my radar was bit more powerful. 2. The AIM-120D has more range than the Phoenix, so in a BVR fight, the Tomcat is a worse position if the pilot knows he or she is facing the missile (which of course I knew). 3. The Tomcat’s jammer is effective in disabling the AIM-120D, as two were shot at me, none arrived at my position, which shows that the HOJ feature of the AIM-120D doesn’t work or maybe I just got lucky. 4. OR, the AI treats Active AAMs as SARH…
  12. Me: F/A-18F with 4 x AIM-9X, 6 x AIM-120D, gun, tank Opposition: J35 "Bertil" Draken with 2 x AIM-2000 and two tanks, guns This time it was much better with me able to "read" the movements of the Draken. It tends to porpoise a lot so it throws you off as to what to do. So ended up in it's front for a second but after that it was just porpoising around so after dodging some terrain came around locked it up with a 9X and shot it down. Takeaways: I think that the FM needs some tweaking as the damn thing does a lot of porpoising and it can throw anybody off as you're simply not sure what to do. So my advice is to pick it off but if you get into a fight it'll definitely try and shoot you down and once it gets fixated it'll be good at what it does too.
  13. Me: F/A-18F with 4 x AIM-9X, 6 x AIM-120D, gun, tank Opposition: J35 "Bertil" Draken with 2 x AIM-2000 and two tanks, guns Started off with me coming from the rear and.... the fuselage of the Draken would flicker into existence as I naturally got closer (LOD issue that was fixed afterwards). But I fought the fight and with the LOD issue, lost track of the Draken after a half loop and coming over the top I was very slow and basically ripe for a shot. I had the Draken's radar locked on me and as soon as I thought I was good behind a mountain (I figured he;'d have some time to line up, just didn't realized he turned into me and speared me good with an AIM-2000, shooting me down. Takeaways: Other than the LOD issue (which is fixed for a rematch) the Draken is pretty maneuverable and even though it's old (produced in 1955) it can handle more of the modern types as well).. LOD FIx (for all versions:) [LOD001] Filename=J-35D.LOD Distance=5000 [LOD002] Filename=J-35D-002.LOD Distance=10000 [LOD003] Filename=J-35D-003.LOD Distance=50000
  14. About as graceful looking as a Bug but... still nice anyway.
  15. That's one of the reasons I fly it so much, it's got a nice high alpha that as a strike plane or in a phone booth I got all the angles covered (and in some cases pun intended). My only complaint is lower fuel but hey... I've survived...
  16. Wow you should find something... and I don't have anybody on Facebook who's in the Phillipines who sims in the Phillipines, sorry.
  17. Frakken DE-nied! Gimme a minute... And to cover my butt I was being sarcastic...
  18. :D maybe they're playing something else, who knows? But yeah I swear by it, don't get the Cyborg F.L.Y though.... it's cool it can dissemble but its very fragile. But good luck I guess on that...
  19. Fair enough... I use the Logitech Extreme 3D and it's rugged and once deployed so I can say it's a good stick, the only major issue I've had was a thumb button that broke but gotcha.
  20. Me: J35B "Bertil" Draken with 4 x AIM-9L, gun Opposition: Mig-21bis with 4 x Atoll, gun Starting above due to mission settings I patienlty waited for the Mig pilot to reach his waypoint so battle would commence. And once it did... I really didn't have a problem following the Mig, it was fairly easy as the first bout made him enter an energy circle, which made him crash into the ground. Slightly chagrined I tried it again and still was able to follow and outturn the Mig. After a few seconds of debating I pulled the trigger downing him. Takeaways: I've never flown the Draken and wondered how it would be. Now it seems its pretty good with maneuverable aircraft and to turn up the notch a bit...
  21. Amazon.com... they sell sticks
  22. Me: KF/A-18C with 2 x AIM-9M, 4 x AIM-7, gun, tank Opposition: Mitshubishi F-2A with 4 x AAM-3 Type 90s, 4 x AAM-4 Type 99s, gun This one was shorter because I really didn't want to screw around with the F-2A again. One thing of note that the radar is very advanced so you'll pick it up while dogfighting, which translates to it's ability to orient itself better, forgot to mention that in the previous DACT. After he finally bit we ended up in a vertical energy circle with me pulling stick with the Hornet quite liberally (you have to move into firing position faster than he does, plain and simple). He came up in the vertical and I managed to jam my stick hard enough (along with the high alpha of the Hornet) and fired one 9M and missed... this is also a good refresher on what happens when your shot goes south, i.e. don't panic, track track and fire, and I did and managed to down him with the second missile. Takeaways: Plan your loadouts accordingly as I took the default for the type. I probably (maybe) would have gotten him with a Sparrow shot but even that would be a hard kill, but if you get him you can probably get him with guns, you'll just have to work harder. And now I got a workable non-carrier DACT mission. Needs a little tweakin but overall I can expand again with some requests if needed.
  23. Honestly wingnut and so on... I never get that far actually...,. Me: F/A-18F with 4 x AIM-9X, 6 x AIM-120D, gun, tank Opposition: Mitshubishi F-2A with 4 x AAM-3 Type 90s, 4 x AAM-4 Type 99s, gun Decided to take on the F-2A on a whim and well... the plane is a beast I'll say that for sure. The aircraft is comparable to my aircraft so jostling for a position was quite... eventful as you can tell from the screenshots below, up until the point he tried to spear me with an AAM-3 though, and that's when I got lucky, as he was off somehow or my pray maneuver worked and flares as well... And if you notice in the picture sixth from top you'll see he's already almost has his nose pointed right at me, yup, just keep that in mind. After that I got into an energy circle and every you make he can countermove as well, which is when I came over the top he was coming up, into my 9X which I fired as I knew he made a mistake and thankfully I pulled it off as I thought I wasn't going to get him. Takeaways: The F-2A is quite the maneuverable plane and it can get into firing position faster than you so if you don't have any skill I'd take it easy and get some experience or a real maneuverable fighter with some push. And never forget that it'll swing into position on a second try...
  24. looking sexy ianh...
