  1. It's to not have the game render the object at the same detail at that distance. Distance LODs for any game eases the workload on the GPU/CPU and so on. It's basically done to show the plane, but details aren't a requirement at a longer distance.
  2. He would need the 3d models to do that, unless there is some other method that I think I don't know about, maybe. As for the fuel it may be a glitch with the game. Some other user mentioned that and you may have to reinstall the game for the fuel issue.
  3. The more western SAMs the better, thanks for this GKABS
  4. You're better off figuring out the proper release envelope than that, as it'll go... somewhere perhaps. I mean I can use JDAMs fine, I just tend to prefer LGBs because they're easier to use in some cases, the GBU-12 is my favorite as you can do a lot with it envelope-wise.
  5. It creates its own install, so you'll have to create a shortcut on the desktop or something like that. I haven't installed it yet myself (on the fence really), but that's what I did last time I had it.
  6. It does (I've been dropping them for years) but I don't like them that much myself. I prefer LGBs.
  7. Did you remove the NZ terrain and see what happened?
  8. I came from the Lock On/Flanker 2.51 community when me and Dave met each other through Eagle Dynamics. I flew many other games and didn't get much into games from Jane's (I did like Apache Longbow though), but for the most part got into the WOX series and then when SF2 came out I moved on to that. I like the replayability and what little modding I have done though, so while I go away I still maintain some kind of presence here and so on.
  9. I've never had unlimited fuel with any SF1 converts, it could be a setting for the Gameplay. But as Wrench says, it could be a plane issue and not a game issue.
  10. You can go in the options and go to Gameplay, and click from the drop down menu Customize. Then select HUD to Hard
  11. Yeah he's cool, I binged most of his videos
  12. You can try here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/196048232552494
  13. The games from Thirdwire never spawned on the apron, you always spawn on the runway. If you're doing a video you can taxi to the spot you want to start on the airfield (if you're flying solo) and can "start" from there, but you can't select a different spot to spawn, unlike DCS and other flight sims.
  14. To UnderTheRadar: Yeah you did it wrong. The aircraft goes in the Objects/Aircraft folder, and the other folders, check out the tutorial in the Knowledge Base. It should be noted that those aircraft doesn't support the NA radar ability (able to lock onto multiple targets at once), but some ini editing you will be able to get that functionality.
  15. You could check the Downloads section for SF2, there are mods there...
  16. It's not refined like simonmiller416's filter, but that's what I found out, and it's not apparently workable in other aircraft. It just very well be that the Super Hornet lighting system allows it, while others don't.
  17. It was some editing of the inner light color, it's in the cockpit.ini, under this: NightLightOn=0.25 NightLightColor=0.0,1.0,0.0,0.7
  18. The Mission Editor is a DLC, not something that comes with SF2 from the downloads. If you get SF2: Complete you get the Mission Editor. Anyway, you're looking at taking off from land bases TheStig, unless you shell out 100 bucks for SF2: Complete.
  19. No terrain has an LHD/LHA or whatnot on the terrain itself. You'll have to manually place it and fly off of that and maybe you can take off from one if you set it up right through the MIssion Editor. If you don't have it, then you're pretty much taking off from land bases.
  20. No worries, it has no real function in-game as you see. It's just there to look like it does something but no, it just occupies the pylon for looks and nothing else.
  21. No, but it's paired with a Sniper XR pod, and I don't know which one it is to upload. It fits in the right spot where the HTS would go, along with the Sniper pod. If I find out which one I'll upload it though.
