I can't see a compelling reason to include aircraft with mroe advanced avionics and weapons until the game supports such.

I had almost forgot about those "adapters" for the Shrikes. Why did they have to use those? At any rate, they would probably be easy for AD to model, but getting them to display on the pylon properly (ie, only when Shrikes are loaded) might be a tough nut to crack...

Try editing numbers.lst for the skin in question and include only the list of numbers you want.

This modification of the stock A-4E represents the first aggressor aircraft used by Top Gun. Essentially a stripped down A-4E with a high performance J52-P-408 engine, the "Super Echo", as it was called, was an extremely capable ACM aircraft. Most of these aircraft were brought back to operational standard and sent to Israel as part of an emergency transfer in the early 1970s, and were replaced at Top Gun by similar A-4Fs. For this mod, I have increased engine thrust to the real-world output of the J52-P-408 and reduced the aircrat's weight to simulate the removal of the radar and other unnecessary mission equipment. Also, I have set the aircraft's nation to 'Soviet Union' so that you can fly as an aggressor against other NATO aircraft. The "Super Echo" can fly CAP, Sweep, and Intercept missions with 20mm cannon and AIM-9 IR missiles. Now available from my site.

Hmm. Joe's site is usually very accurate, but I'd swear that the Wings of Fame article on the A-5 had pictures of the A-5B that lokoed just like an A-5A. I'll check tonight.

Hey Monty, your RA-5C looks beautiful! Do you have any shots of the A-5B? IMO the A-5A and B are perhpas the most beautiful planes ever made--like the RA-5C, only without the "humpback".

Maybe SP2 is going to contain some surprises. :shock: Here's hoping.

Extract pilot.bmp from objects.cat and repaint it to your liking, then save it in the objects folder. Unfortunately it is global, so all pilots will wear the same helmet. Feature request: TK, it would be nice if we could specify a pilot.bmp for each skin so different squadrons could have different helmets/flight suits.

I think that the roll inertia bug is more a function of changes that SP1 made to the flight engine, rather than the ini files, but I could be worng. ;)

Dave, the RWR looks fine in the latest package I downloaded from you--no corruption. I haven't flown near any emitters yet so I don't know if it is active or not. I will check it out tonight. Don

As of right now the version we are looking to release is the 'B'--its slightly uprated engine making for better play. I understand AD has something else up his sleeve as well but it is a completely 'black' project at this point. :) Edit: grammar.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I started work on an updated VF-143 F-4B skin yesterday. Fast Eagle requested it months ago, but new projects kept getting in the way. At any rate, it should be done in a few days.

That second shot reminds me of a video I once saw of an A-6 that apparantly lost an engine just after launch. The plane rolled 90 degrees to starboard before the crew ejected and they sort of skipped like stones on th water as the parachutes opened. Neither was seriously inured IIRC.
