  1. server:: Only Chuck Norris can put this thred to bed now.
  2. kom, A-6 is great cockpit. Is your view panning in the cockpit restricted? If so, you can fix it easy to see the entire right side of the cockpit. Its very detailed, and hidden from us, why I don't know. that^
  3. Authum I'll be back Have you seen this ~> http://www.yolo.net/%7Ejeaton/century/106/26106.htm
  4. My guess: You've probably heard of BIOS flashing software, which can be done directly with bootable drive (floppy, thumb, etc...) without Windows, or flashing the BIOS through Windows although the hardware forums say that's unreliable. Never tried either myself. So your virus maybe got teh Windows to flash the chip in a bad way (think of re-programmable chips in cars, but not in beat up old trucks). On the other hand, I have a fairly recent Gigabyte motherboard which sports two (2) BIOSes, the second being a backup that cannot be flashed -- I assume. You hit that button on the board and it flashes the primary BIOS to the basic factory default I guess how it works. Interesting discussion with some on this 2nd BIOS here... tnc777:: I've never had to use that feature.

  6. Wellcome back. How do you like Win~7 so far? I went the other way, put stuff in an old 45lb steel server case, looks half empty. You didn't have a backup.

Getting into this again. Some good old wartime photos of persistent contrails here.... scroll down ~> http://contrailscience.com/contrail-photos-through-history/ This blew me away. I enlarged it so the other bombers are more easily visible. One is just above the engine nacelle. I once found an article describing earliest known (at the time) witness descriptions of contrails. It was like 1917 or something, Western Front. A line appeared high in the sky, turning on and off, which I see alot of today and is caused by the plane passing through different "pockets" of water saturation or rising/descending air, or something like that. The practical science of contrail formation was born soon after WW1. Its fascinating to think these things had never existed in the past until airplanes came along.

Been watching the sky since I was a squish. If they are spraying chemicals today, they've been doing it heavily since 1980s. Actually, they were doing it back in 1940. For real... A Battle of Britain photo. Notice some trails are very short, and some are very long and spreading. There are some low level cumulus clouds to the right of the dome, and lots of high cirrus ice clouds which often go with persistent contrails. However, note the long contrail curled over the dome. It looks retouched or something. My theory: the LW and RAF were really flying together to spray London with Spits and Messers. gotta be them bankers again

Come and get em fellas/fellattes, only here, at THE COMBATACE download NOW ~> http://forum.combatace.com/files/file/7046-siberian-sky-contrails-for-strategic-air-warfare/ squid:: Only when the conditions are right for it, most notably at the approach of a warm front during winter. The contrails grow to become cirrus clouds, which we know can last for hours in the sky. Not much altitude difference (or horizontal distance) is needed at times for very different contrail behavior, and you can be tricked by eye comparisons of distance in 3D. About being tricked: That video showed a chem/con trail and a "dark line." I don't know what they said since I don't have sound on my somputer (I JAM stereo), but the dark line is contrail shadow on a lower thin transparent cloud layer. I wish combat flight TheSims developers would start paying attention to this type of thing. Those hour long contrails days are cited as causing global warming by the global warming types, so pick your conspiracy. If you actually started to watch the sky for days and years like I did growing up in Miss-iP where there is nothing else to do but get paddled in the rural schools, you see that hour long contrail days are about once or twice a month, which is not enough to cause global warming. btw...that plane with oily looking trails is just water vapour, including the sheen coming from the wings, heavily enhanced to produce an oily look. That photo is popular on forums among not just fans of chemtrail poisoning, but also the Global Warming fans, and they DO NOT mix with the chemtrail poisoning fans. All that said, I love browsing chemtrail websites because they can be a great source of some of the most surreal persistent contrail photos.
  11. I dunno Before I poasted that, to make sure I extracted a bmp file to my Object folder. Bang there it was, viewed it too. Now, long ago I copied all my Extractor stuff to a folder I call "Extractor" that is inside my D:/SF folder.... D:\SF\Extractor All the you-know irunin pv.dll kinda stuff is in there. I run Extractor from desktop shortcut. I have to back out to SF folder before going into Object-Flight-Effects-Terrain-Etc folders to extract things but the extra step is for keeping the SF folder clean and neat without cluttering from all the irunin pv.dll kinda stuff. Wait up. Okay I have WoV-1 2008 stashed in E:\WoV. I just went there with my old Extractor and extracted the Zuni_tubes bmp. Viewed it too. It works for WoV1 Patch level 2008. Try setting up Extractor again, and put it into a folder inside the game folder. Also, this may be significant: I don't play the silly Windows game of "games" folder or whatever they call it. I just stick everything I install in my own created folders in D: or E:, anywhere but C: which is for Windows only.
  12. pretty cool pics. How long does it thrust?
  13. Wrench, my classical Skypat Extractor still works in win-7. Granted I'm running SF1 back at 2006 patch level.
  14. Strike that link. If you are only interested in moving mirrors, there is a better way to get those mirrors usable in the long run, which is what you really want to do here. Read on... Tell more about your somputer. I never could use mirrors, until a week ago, and how I got doing mirrors didn't cost much. I just waited for the previous generation of gaming supercards to drop to almost budget prices. I've always used low budget fanless ATI video cards: Pre-Cambrian era Radeon 9200 until last year, then HD 4550 until last week. I just got a new HD 5770 and HD 4850 to compare. 5770 is slower, buggy, and hotter. I'm keeping the 4850 (I made custom cooling for it). I'm throwing the 5770 in the trash -- or more likely, use it for soldering skills. HD 4850 can be had for about 100$ now at Newegg. And for games not heavily using Windows DX11 features, its half the price or less of 5000 series of similar performance, including mirrors in THE STRIKEFIGHTERS , and no 5000 series bugs.
  15. You can move parts of cockpits out of view. You can learn how here ~> http://bbs.thirdwire.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=4410 The first few pages contain most of the detailed instructions and worked example problems. The rest is fluff.

  17. Nice to see that again. Gotta get the DVD. I always loved the very brief scene, before the camel(?) takes out the power supply and non~chalantly tilts its head and fires a quick burst that swats down one of the little "luke" mini fighters (I suppose).
  18. What was the D: drive? When installing Windows, its best to have connected only the one internal hard drive that Windows will be installed to. I've read that not doing this can mess up how Windows sees hard drive or hard drive partition letter naming. I assume its best to also disconnect any external USB hard drives before running Windows setup. No. Don't depend on just one USB external hard drive per backup. I was rapping with a local computer builder today and he told me USB hard drives get corrupted alot (or something). I have no idea since I never mess with them. I do know that I won't tolerate any 3rd Party consumer level PCB board, found in external drive enclosures, between my internal (ie...normal) hard drive and *multiple* independently backed up to internal hard drives. The List colmack ...if I read right... Hard drive crash One USB hard drive backup failed No further backup GMagos Lost one backup DVD No further backup eraser_tr Hard drive crash No backup <-- lolz _tr, external server Bongodriver Hard drive crash No Backup 76.IAP-Blackbird Deleted game No backup Okay who's next?
  19. Streak, be happy you are not a combat flight TheSims developer. I don't think you ever claimed F-4 > F-14, so could alot of those good derby results be from years, decades, of institutional experience with the F-4? Also, after Vietnam there were some good improvements to F-4 most notably I can think of now is improved cockpit workload. - Most important regarding F-14, the F-4 had the advantage of "2 weeks" (sorry that's my internal programming can't help it)
  20. One of the most amazing fleet of little ships and boats ever assembled. I saw a vid the other day of Maddox new BoB And Beyond sim (what I call it) and it got me started thinking of WW2 again. But Dunkirk didn't cross my mind. Thanks for the reminder.
  21. WAIT UP FELLAS, FC especially... Your airplanes should not turn black as they gain altitude on a sunny day. Think about it. TK fluffed the altitude object lighting. You can fix it at home. In Enviro change all the altitude Modifier variables to 1.0. I think. Since that is SF 2008 and beyond and I'm doing SF 2006 I am going from volatile memory here. SunLightModifiler=1 AmbientModifiler=1 SpecularModifiler=1 There was an issue with spelling Modifier/Modifiler in original PATCH 2008. I think TK patched that later to use correct spelling now. I don't know anymore. Experiment to Taste. Your airplanes should not turn dark, should not change in specular, and the overall object/terrain ambient light should not change.
  22. No debt No margin Reduce skin sizes
  23. I first pre-read that as a ticket price -- what I was pre-thinking about -- before I saw it was a date. Thanks hehe
  24. F-4 vs F-14 Right about now, 12:22PM, I am scheduled to enter the thread and carry out my internal programming by poasting the F-4 has the advantage of 2 seats.
