That's the problem we had with the previous government. They were going hell for leather in trying to put into place policy and directives that would see all of our Hornets and F-111s replaced with a single airframe simply because it would shave off several billion in 15-18 years. When I worked at ASPI, we had a sh*t of a time trying to convince them that this would also shave of a lot of capability and increase the risk of design/engineering flaws potentially grounding the entire fleet and potentially the RAAF's offensive capability. Hopefully the new government will grasp the two tiered force structure concept, although in the past, neither the coalition nor the ALP have been too bright concerning defense matters...

I've been to three funerals of my partner's (partner at the time, she's since moved back to Kesrwan) family, 2 of her cousins 7 and 9 respectively and her sister, 22, all of whom died are victims of cluster bomb munitions. Her sister died in Tyre during the conflict while trying to escape with some members of her family. The children died almost 3 weeks after the cessation of hostilities after accidentally coming into contact with unexploded munitions. The fact that people still don't take seriously or attempt to undermine the effect of these weapons on civilians is what sickens me! I'll leave my personal politics outta this because it's not the place for it. Either way Nesh. You've served your country, earned the respect of your countrymen and deserve not to be damned for it! Massive respect to you for that! I hope to do the same when serving for mine soon. Here's hoping we'll not have to go to any more funerals in the near future!!

...yeah, reckon I'm gonna give Buddhamas or Kwanzamas a go. I've never been one for tradition really...

EF-111?! What do you know that we don't?? Come on, spill...

Amen brother... The Search button has all the makings of being one's best friend when new if only because it can answer 90% of your questions straight away.

Meh... I think they're a little overated. jk For me, the saddest part is that, Iran notwithstanding, it's a real shame that no one else bought them, or considered using them...

I'm getting this exact same problem with several games (some older, some newer) now with my new system... but not with SFG so far.... I'd be interested to see what the word is...

The MoD here is still umming and ah-ing about whether or not to purchase 8-12 STOVL variants for the new Canberra class flattops we'll be building. I personally hope so. Not replacing the HMAS Melbourne and losing the capability of an LHD/CV is the biggest mistake the MoD/RAN have made in the last 25 years. Although, getting suckered into buying the Seasprite was pretty suspect too...

...kinda hard to dissassemble ICBMs safely and securely when you have had to pay a large portion of your regular workers with toilet paper and other commodities in the past. When food was scarce and the ecconomy close to collapsing and your leader looking batsh*t crazy (Yeltsin)... taking care of your nukes became less of a priority.

:off_topic: :off_topic: Seriously dude, are you high? IAI had a hand in helping the development of the J-10 with massive ammounts of data accrued from the Lavi program (specifically the data was aerodynamic models of canard delta configurations and some FBW related materials and some other stuff) but there's no question it's Chinese and at least a generation (maybe slightly more) more advanced. The J-10 is the Lavi as much as the Ching Kuo is an F/A-18. Now... that said, back on topic. There was a pack of JF-7s that had at least 8 or 9 skins representing a host of PLAAF TFSqns, but it looks as though it's no longer here. It was a bit buggy and occassionally textures would move (somehow) creating some problems. I'll look into what happened with it.

It's based on the "New Tech Mod" V.3 but with a lot of customisation with regards to the behaviour of the Units, their capabilities and increased availability for some units. It required the 1.02 patch initially, but works perfectly fine with 1.04 as I'd been using it on my old system for close to a year. But since I've bought this new system, I get nada...

Your Favorite Real Aircraft and Why?

How can anyone pass the KT-40/A-40? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_tank http://aeroweb.lucia.it/rap/RAFAQ/KT-40.html ...Forget that F-22 bucket o' bolts/P.O.S. Mark my words, this is the future! -
My thoughts exactly but when I did, it reverted back to your standard tracer fire. That's the direction that I think makes the most sense to me. I'm still playing around with it...

I'd say ask the Israeli Air Force... ...and then do the opposite of what they tell you.

Here's what I'm currently using, it's not too dissimilar to your's Wrench. [GunData145] TypeName=ChemLaser FullName=ChemLaser Caliber=23.000000 ROF=3100.000000 MuzzleVel=1800.000000 AmmoWt=0.120000 WarheadWt=0.034000 Reliability=100.000000 Accuracy=100.000000 AddLight=TRUE MaxLightRange=1500.000000 FireColor=0.500000,0.100000,0.100000 GunFireEffect=23mmFireEffect GunFireSound=Vulcan EffectClassName=23mmEffects EffectTime=0.700000 TracerTexture=Tracer.tga TracerSize=0.450000 TracerDistFactor=0.002000 TracerLength=6.000000 MaxVisibleDist=1000.000000 MaxStreakVisibleDist=800.000000 TimeFuzed=FALSE This is where I'm getting stuck: I can't seem to reduce the length of the tail, only the duration of the tracer flash meaning that either each round fired flashes a beam or has a sustained beam effect. If I could shorten the tracer tail at the rear, without affecting the beam in front of the aircraft, that would pretty much be it...

Definitely not the inis... well, I don't think it should be. In the past, I used to get a critical error saying something along the lines of "ZH has encountered a serious error, yadda yadda yadda re-install, yadda yadda yadda, EA sucks, yadda yadda yadda tip your waiters. So I'd just replace the altered inis with the previous version that worked (either the originals or the modded ones) and it would work fine after that. No, what seems to be happening here is that I install, patch to 1.03/1.04 or whatever the current patch is (this mod will work with both) and then try to run it before adding the mod. And everytime, even after restarts, just after the blue Generals:ZH logo but before the blue EA logo, it freezes and dies...

Does anyone here play Zero Hour?? I was helping to mod it with some like minded buddies, but since I bought my new machine, I cannot get it to run at all. I've checked online to see if there are any issues with it and the Geforce 8800GT, and there appear to be none, yet it won't run. What could I be missing here?? We're in the process of modding the hell out of it since the standard version is just boring as bat sh*t to my buds and I. Doing things like having Scuds that can practically hit you from the other side of an 8 player map, Gattling cannons that fire like gats should (ie one round every tenth of a second, not every half second), B-2s that get low and fast, as opposed to being billion dollar sitting ducks, armoured personnel carriers that actually have armour, and so on... ...and it's just a little frustrating having it crash after double clicking the icon.

You want a Tomcat...? We've got one of those here.

CRAP!! I can't believe I didn't post the specs! I was dead tired after work yesterday...

Until it looks and feels right. I've got a bud (not much of a bud since he won't make me any planes for this, no matter how many rounds I buy... pr**k ) who would probably take a few days to build the model from scratch since he uses 3dsm on a daily basis as part of his job. But then again, most people don't have 8+ hours a day to flesh out a model... ...and he's still got a 3d model of a crater he's been working on since August that he "just can't get right".
-
Alrighty... here's what I've got worked out so far... (or stumbled across is probably more accurate. ) Like I stated in the other threads, it loses it's effect if you adjust your aim... I've tried altering the tail (the tracer) and the problem I'm having at the moment is that each time I shorten it, it reverts back to your standard tracer fire look. Plus outside of 1.2kms, it does this also. As for its characteristics for firing, there's hardly any recoil in it's current form, it's accurate out to a shade over 2kms and has a noticeable curve just outside of 2.5kms (something to do with the coriolis effect, I wasn't paying attention to McGregor, I was just trying to hit the bastard. )

Sorry, where can I download the F-14D?? Hehehe! Not the face, not the face!!

I was thinking that renaming the aircraft and skins completely would do the trick, but that's a bit of an overkill. When I have changed the name of the texture in the past however, it usually results in the plane loading without the texture. I found this to be the case when I tried to add an F-16A skin to an F-16C, and this led me to believe that it'd hold true for the Tomcat... (Oh, and Mexicans is a Queenslander reference to anyone south of the border, and because we all like ribbing the NSW types! It's about the only good thing Q-landers have come up with other than Metermaids!)

Hehe... Mexicans
