  1. The games not the problem - it sounds like Allied Force has not been removed properly from your computer which is why you cannot install it anymore - getting another disk or download will not change that - which is why you need to go through the Microsoft article tp remove the offending files. Once done you can reinstall AF. Where are you getting the idea you will lose your other games - you shouldnt have to uninstall anything else
  2. flip - thats more than a Yak-42 crash mate - sad to see :(
  3. You should be able to just install the skin again using LOd Editor - make sure yo replace the texture with the exact number as the file name - can you see the loaded skin in LODeditor. I installed my weapon skins using the skinpack installer - which seems to be better at doing some things You wont be pleased to hear - In BMS4 to install a skin you just place it in a folder like in Strike Fighters - job done
  4. Used and abused....and now you want it back!!
  5. also see this I remembered http://bbs.thirdwire.com/phpBB3w/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=8543
  6. Yeah sounds like its screwed - you would need to clean the parts you cant find off the system - you need to read this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2438651
  7. Cool actually some the AF skins are really fantastic and surpass the BMS 4 ones - looks like JANHAS will be doing some anyway for that. Entire skin sets - well you can do it by trial and error using the LOD Editor skin by skin - but you will notice you still might not get everything - and its not always logical where things go. The only way I know is to use the skinpack installer - but even then you will need to compromise and use the chart I put in the USAF F-16 skin set pack on this site. The skins are in the format .skn - this is actually just a .zip file - so rename it to .zip and you will see how its constructed. You can then replace some of the skins with the JANHAS ones you want and rename the file to .skn. basically there is no magic button to do this that Im aware. You can do the F-16AM with LOD editor separate to the C with 2 different skins
  8. Wow nice work Crusader
  9. The good old Amazon UK has it over here from £24.99 used (About $40.00) - with the highest at £64.99 ($104.47): http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hasbro-Falcon-4-0/dp/B00004UBQF/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1315338928&sr=1-2 Yep read it and weep - guess the ***** caught on.............
  10. understand they have principles - but I would have paid good money for a commercial release of this standard called Falcon 5.0. I know someone has complained about the FA-18 pit - but as far as I care the F-16s is the important thing. If only Lead Pursuit could have come up with something at this level as a sequel.........................also who exactly is paying to keep their domain going?
  11. Well one issue - which could be positive or negative - they appear to have replaced the killer robot MiG-29 pilot from Allied Force with one who doesnt seem to have a clue in a gun fight
  12. This site hosts the actual BMS 4.32 patch: http://www.checksix-fr.com/news/index.php?page=detail&ID=7631 FLARE is not finished yet it looks like.....
  13. DX9 with pilots turning their heads - reminds me of something....... 3D clickable pit with 6DOF TrackIR: well its new for me.......

  16. WOW - had no idea:
  17. Okay......................sold
  18. I spent a lot more on the 3 widescreen pits for F4: Allied Force a few months back! The thing is the original 1998 game is probably on classic gaming sites now as totally abandoned - after Free Falcon arrived you had to assume it was deader than AF
  19. No - Thirdwire website only https://store.thirdwire.com/store.htm
  20. nvdxt.exe is one of the files in the lodeditor folder - where are you running it from? not program files I hope. Go to Preferences in the drop down menu and tick Use LP Database. Did you get to do this bit: 9. The first time you go to replace a skin, LODEditor will ask you the location of the DDS compression utility. Point it to the same folder you have LODEditor in and select the NVDxt.exe file. (This is the only time you have to do this.
  21. Are you on Win Vista/7 ? Try Running the lodeditor as admin - right click -> properties -> compatibility tab What point do you get this message? I remember you had to point the LODEditor at a few programs in the LODEditor folder when using it for the first time.
  22. Really - where was this?
  23. Check the FAQ on the site - tells me its for Win XP and Win 7 - so expect it will run on 7 x64 because thats the mainstream now. You need the original Falcon 4.0 disk - which I got rid of years ago! - it wont work with F4:AF and it is not standlone. Looks like a lot of work - the terrain tiles look to be the same - but everything else looks better. Stability - well that remains to be seen. I will probably install DCS A-10C as my next sim to learn which I got a few months back.............if I ever get round to that even. So Falcon Versions in progress are now. Free Falcon 5 (Free Standalone) BMS 4 (Free Add on for original Falcon 4.0 disk) Open Falcon was disbanded a while back.....and Allied Force..........well LP are dead - so looks like I will be the only one using that - but its still a fantastic challenge in its late 1990s Balkans setting.
  24. Looks like an AGM-78 STARM
  25. Fantastic story thanks - shame about the outcome You're supposed to put this stuff in a book called F-16 in the cold war so I can buy it
