I'm seeing the same problem, it changes with the direction of the light [sun], even when I make the whole tga the same colour as the letters/numbers.....weird stuff.

IIRC its also been used to simulate some kind of NVG effects too in FSX.

Gates opened at 7.30, flying started at 12.00 m8 [always does], poeple were still queing to get in at 13.30 but the base was full.

Not too sure why its going to be based at Brize as Waddington was "talked about" a lot last year. Cosford airshow was a huge success this year, they closed the base at 13.30 as it was stuffed to the brim with 58,000 people & 18,000 cars, there were 4 miles of tailbacks on the M54 of folks still trying to get in & all the backlanes around the base were absolutely gridlocked. Personally, I decided to spend more time actually watching the acts this year..........thats why I only took 500+ photos. Here's a couple of samples.....

The ones with the RF-4B nose are still sat on my harddrive awaiting release.....maybe 2 weeks..

My stepson got shot in the finger with a .22 airgun pellet [dont laugh] my god, he squeeled like a pig in a bacon factory, so god only knows what something bigger must feel like..... btw, this must be the strangest question I've ever heard somebody ask.

Just under 85Gb on my old SF stuff [i trimmed them down a while back...LOL] & only 15Gb for a merged SF2/V install ...so far.
