Nope, they were fully conscious and fighting to get out...read any of the accounts about the corrections that came out of that tragedy and some of the changes were shocking as in "how did the program ever consider that?" and some of the work was unfortunately rushed due to the nature of the Space Race, something that so few people remember was far more than national pride at stake. But their sacrifice directly contributed to changes that are still in place today and no doubt have kept other brave volunteers alive

couple of points: standard practice for 60 years in the fighter community is, eyes on bad guys, dump the bags, go get them... second, yes the Fishbed was designed as a point defense fighter; ie, range was not much of a consideration because the Doctrine was all about defense therefore no need to range very far if its over your ballpark personally, if I am about to mix it up with a flight of Crusaders I wait until the turning is about to begin, then ditch the bag and fang's out...watch the AI...that is what they do in the game also but I like the way that you are thinking, it gets more immersing that way, I caution you though as this game will disappoint you if you go too far down that path...as much as I ENJOY it, this is a game, not a simulation

I have to agree that the series went pathetic after the movie release...especially Galvatron...I liked him in the movie, when he waxed Starscream (finally...and Leonard Nimoy's voice), but the writing was along the lines of Dora the Explorer. Then when they brought Optimus back in like the last season...lame...and the episode with the vampire-monster thing and changing them into zombies...how can a robot be a zombie? And count me in the "I hate Wheelie" club as well...what were they thinking. The Junkicons and Quinticons were cool, but not in the series... And Rodimus was no replacement for prime It was like after the movie an entirely different company was in charge...but then so much of that happened to GI Joe as well, but that is a different discussion entirely. I was very happy with T 2k7 in that they went in their own direction, didnt try to follow the old storylines (except giant space robots fight, crash on earth, fight) And it had Megan Fox... And it had Megan Fox And it...just kidding...it was way better than I thought it would be though, especially after the hatchet-job that was done on Spider Man...and the Hulk
