  1. that is very interesting...sounds amusing that they had to make a name change like that
  2. Well, let us not forget USNF97 when your backseater would actually talk to you...man how was the coding lost on that one? Oh and there was a semblance of datalinks in that game as well. Regards a "break"...one can fly in an instrument approach and still execute a "break"
  3. that is what I am wondering since, as mentioned above, the nuke hit within 1 km on a relatively flat spot of terrain should have easily wiped the evildamncommbuilding out...but no...lot of other stuff blew up but not it...tried it with Mk.82 and a direct hit took it out
  4. - "Could do some interesting African campaigns with these sort of aircraft and would involve a lot of interesting aircraft combinations" Yes, please!
  5. - "They could take out a F-15/ACTIVE or M/STD with ease"... wow...now that is speculation at its finest...and how do you base that theory?
  6. - "back in the PRE-LOMAC days"...is that when Lincoln was President?
  7. Rather in the vein of what the PRC was doing with some of its MiG-19 types...converting them into UAV-lites...no doubt the intent
  8. Hey are they going through with Season 4, despite the writers strike? Is any of it filmed in Canada and if so, would that protect it from the writer's strike I know, I know, but I never watch TV (except like stuff on DVD)
  9. For me, I was satiated when they FINALLY made the "theatrical" 1977 release...you know, Han shot first...man I watched that part over and over, vindicated...
  10. By far my favorite was the one (forgot the name) in the style of "Cops" but with a Stormtrooper...I always wondered what really happened to Uncle Owen...
  11. In that case I want to declare WonderBra Day...
  12. - "I have KOTOR2 but have never finished it." Do yourself a favor and keep it that way...the first 70% of the game is awesome, then the last bit is worse than if I wrote/coded it... I liked Republic Commando for on line as it was so easy to jump in and have a go But I prefer SWBF2 over just about any other of its genre if for no other reason than: "Lord Vader has entered the battlefield"...and then he does stuff like slaughter bots rather than just stand there, which is helpful
  13. yeah like the post office and the R2D2 mail boxes...dont know why the Feds are so interested in Star Wars of late...
  14. what is the deal with House Lucas lately? I mean werent they the Day of the Tentacle and Full Throttle guys? Now what?
  15. Reading it now...bit different from Path of Destruction, but still so far/so good
  16. No, please...tell me more...
  17. - Let me try Nishida's stuff...
  18. helping paying for and operating are different
  19. Simple...the USAF brass hates the A-10...period, dot...yes, real people love it and it just keeps proving itself (dont start flaming, I love the A-10, let us talk about fast mover politics and getting away from an Army support role)...so no way the post-modern USAF will pay $ to keep fulfilling a mission it feels it should not have to do, especially since the Army basically tried to force the USAF to keep doing it in a manner of speaking by abandoning their Comanche project. Nothing does CAS or FAC-A better than a Hawg...nothing...but those arent priority missions for a USAF that cant field sufficient numbers of F-22A...and if you read another post, you will see that nearly the entire USAF fleet has some potentially crippling issues. Focus, it is not about what is best for the job, it is about what we can pay for, priorities, and politics...if the Army wants a CAS bird so bad, they can help pay for it, Airmen dont need CAS (Sandy's, yes, CAS, no) but bullet catchers do
  20. heck, I just douse them with the proton torpedoes to bring their engines down, then hit them with the ION cannon to take their shields down...
  21. eh, I had a boss who flew the double ugly, the WB-57, and F-101B (plus some other stuff like C-123 back when the USAF let dudes fly many different types over the course of their career, even the non-test dudes)...he recanted how the F-101B was so fast that as you rotated you bumped the gear handle because she would peel her own gear doors off soon after that... then you have a beast like the -135 family whose gear speed (to include doors) are stressed higher than the max speed of the airframe...of course that was the old Boeing...who still remembered making B-17's...
  22. Who, Jerry Brown? I remember reading that when Ursula Andress was in Dr. No, she had to be dubbed because her accent was to thick...thats OK...
