Willy Peet effects...

Recommended Posts

... are totally porked.

gallery_28867_634_105239.jpg

I just noticed this, but it may have been around for a few patches. I tried commenting out some different emitters to isolate the issue, but didn't have any luck.

Can any of the effect gurus take a look at it? This is the effect from the SF2V A&G XP.

Thanks.

Gregg

I've got the same graphical glitch as you do in some cases, it's not just you, and never tried any Willy Pete munitions but have noticed it when bombed or missiled objects are burning...

clearly either tga file for explosion graphic missing, or wrongly set BlendOp= for given particle material -I'll look into it. It's Deuce's effect incorporated into Gunny's pack IIRC

fixed :good:

extract to your mod EFFECTS folder, overwrite. Tested in Jun11 A&G XP install

why was it you ask?

the version that came with AGXP 2.0 (tested on such install, NOT the 2.0 Gold with all the updates, don't have one atm) had wrongly set BlendOp= for WpParticleMaterial (used for WP burst), was "BlendOp=BLEND_INV_SRC_ALPHA_ADD_SRC" instead of "BlendOp=BLEND_SRC_ALPHA"

also for safety matter I realiased fire-type materials shaders from older twColor1.fx to effectFire.fx in these effects

good. As I wrote it's based on the WP effects from 2.0 version, not 2.0 gold -but to my eye these are the same, don't think there was any never version incorporated into AGXP than that of Master Deuces. There is one in my Hollywood Explosion pack (might be I incorporated it into United Effects pack) but this one has less impact on system I bet

Thank you, it really works now.

Not only did it fix the problem, but I see that WP now has the "Stary" effect too.

I don't know of the names of any WP bombs types so just to save me looking through the entire add-on weapons pack in my back-up drive; can someone shout out a small list of WP bomb names that I can pick out and install in my weapons folders? Cheers :salute:

My advice is to install whole weapons pack, otherwise you might have some things (like effects) corrupted

I use Ordnance Shop II

Stary, if using Ordnance Shop II and your's Unified Effects Pack there is any chance that something can go wrong?
