Viper 01/18/2019 ------------------------------------------------------------- Original Readmes:
------------------------------------------------------------- SF2 USAF/NATO/Western Cargo Planes by Veltro2K 3/20/2013 -For SF2, Any and All- This is a re-release of these aircraft, as some have stated a desire to have them again.
This pak includes all my reskins, decals, ini tweeks from the various "upgrade paks" I'd released before the aircraft were disappeared.
This pak contains =ONLY= those aircraft used by the USAF, our Allies and other NATO powers. The Soviet/Warsaw Pact transports are someplace else.... Included in this pack are: C-141A Starlifer
C-141B Starlifter
C-5A Galaxy
C-17 Globemaster III
G-222 Spartan (called such in USAF service) Some may be more complete than others, with regards to decals and such. Some are fairly 'untouched', and will need further decaling, etc. Some hangar and loading screens are NOT in SF2 format, and will need redoing (meaning: I never got around to them!).
All the original readmes from the Upgrade Paks (I could find!) are included within this main folder. I'd reccomend reading them, just for fun! Skin and some decal templates (again, when I could find them!) are included. The decal template is for the "ttag" decal, that is for USAF AMC usage.
This pak is quite large, as the skins remain in their bmp format. You can convert to jpg at you convience. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! PLEASE read the "Notes" section for other important notations. Also, the Legal Statement has been changed with regards to this aircraft.
For those that still have the original releases, you may not need to reapply this package. But, to be safe, PLEASE check over your aircraft to be sure. Thank You :). **These aircraft herein are released in "AS IS" Condition. There are/may be some issues with the LOD that may not/cannot be resolved. Period. Any and all issues/problems that cannot be solved via ini edits will exist forever, as new models are unlikely to be created. For now.** ------------------------------------------------ =TO INSTALL: As I always reccomend, unzip the "sf2_veltro2k_cargoplanes_pak.zip" to a temp folder or your desktop or somewhere else that's easy to find Then, simply, copy/paste the Objects folder supplied directly =OVER= your existing /Objects folder.
Copy/Paste the supplied Sounds folder directly OVER your existing /Sounds folder
You'll probably be asked "OVERWRITE?", just say Yes. I've already seperated out the various folders (Aircraft, Decals, etc), so they'll drop right where they're supposed to be. ----------------------------
Notes: Again, as these are considered "heavies", they are best left under AI control, even though they all have cockpits. What can be done with them, I've not too many clues...however, with the SF2 mission builder, they can be inserted into campaigns, single missions and a host of other opportunities that present themselves. Use you imagination. If there is a HUGE hugh and cry, perhaps I can be moved to locate all the Soviet transports Veltro did....if I can find where I put them!

This package =ONLY= contains the data inis for the aircraft listed below. You will still need to locate the original aircraft. It is highly suggested (read: REQUIRED) that you have SF2NA as part of your merged installs, as several of these reference the stock 3W Tu-95 Bear destroyed model. Some reference the stock 3W An-12, Tu-16 or B-52D (SF2V) destroyed models as well. Flight Models remain "as issued"; they've not been touched by me. All New Data Inis Included in this pack are for: C-5A Galaxy
C-17 Globemaster II
C-141A Starlifter
C-141B Starlifter
G-222/C-27 Spartan
E-767
KC-767 (KC-46)
Nimrod MR.1 (RAF ASW/Martime Patrol)
Br.1150 Atlantique (ASW/Martime Patrol)
PB-1W Navy Fortress (USN 1940s/50s AEW - B-17) DC-8 *
B-747 Pan Am"Jumbo Jet" *The DC-8 mods are for the package by Daddyairplanes*
All aircraft have had their data inis reworked to correct, add, move, remove or generally "fix" all the hit boxes, relocate components (ie: fuel tanks, as best as possible inside the airframe) and in general clean up many things that simply escaped notice. The exception here is the Pan Am 747, which gets a partly repainted skin, with all new 100% accurate civil registration number decals (18) AND their matching "Clipper" names. Decal Randomization is "TRUE". The 747 and DC-8s also get an avionics upgrade (GM radar). Some sounds are included; you may have them alread, or not; but I like "to be sure". Please note, some of these aircraft may NOT be in the SF2 downloads section; one will need to Search the SF1/Wo* (1stGen) downloads. Equally important, is to HAVE the aircraft installed =BEFORE= installing this Upgrade Pack. Kinda makes sense, right? <gr> As is always reccomended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. Happy Landings!

To Install: Another reminder: ****HAVE THE AIRCRAFT INSTALLED TO YOUR SF2 MODS FOLDER OF CHOICE =BEFORE= INTALLING THE UPDATE/UPGRADE PACKAGE.**** As always reccomended, unzip the "sf2_v2k_western_heavies_upgrade_pak" to a temp folder or your desktop or somewhere that's easy to find. Copy/Paste the /Objects folder DIRECTLY into the SF2 game install of choice's /Objects folder. It's already divided into the /Aircraft and /Decals sub-folders. You'll asked to "Overwrite?" , just say yes. It'll change nothing. Copy/Paste the included /Sounds folder DIRECTLY over you existing Sounds folder. Allow the "Overwrite". I've included sounds you may already have, but wanted to be sure that (nearly) everything was available to the End User (tm). That should cover it, go fly! -----------------------------

Other Notes and Nonsense: Included are the original Data inis, already backed up, in case you End Users (tm) don't appriciate all the hard work that goes into creating, giving, and keeping up the Mods we do. Remember, these mostly exist for "Eye Candy" and Targets (tm), but I felt it was well worth the effort to try and correct the hit boxes. Also, remember they're really not to be Player Usable, even with cockpit, as the Game Engine has no coding for their proper usage. But, have fun anyway! A note about the destroyed model usage: While not 100%, we work with what we have, after all, it's just a burning, dead wreck on the ground. If a 3d Modeler (tm) wants to build crashed birds; go for it, I says! I know the "Clipper **" name decals are in the wrong font, but after spending an hour and half trying to FIND the correct one, just chose to use one of my script fonts. Deal with it <g>. At present, there are NO plans whatsoever to update the individual aircraft packages. End Users are on their own to locate the aircraft in the CombatAce downloads sections and apply this fix-it pack. --------------------------- If you have any problems, questions, comments, I can be reached in the usual places; CombatAce, SimHQ, or p0rn sites. CAC Sabre Mk. 31 / 32
By paulopanz
In 1951, CAC obtained a licence agreement to build the F-86. It was decided to power the aircraft using a licence-built version of the Rolls-Royce Avon R.A.7. This involved a re-design of the fuselage as the Avon was shorter, wider and lighter than the General Electric J47 that powered the North American-built aircraft. Because of the engine change the type is often referred to as the Avon Sabre. To accommodate the Avon, over 60% of the fuselage was redesigned along with a 25% increase in the size of the air intake. Another major revision was in replacing the F-86F's six machine guns with two 30mm Aden cannons, while other changes were also made to the cockpit and to provide an increased fuel capacity.
The RAAF operated the CA-27 from 1956 to 1971.
In 1958–60, CAC Sabres completed numerous ground attack sorties against communist insurgents in Malaya, during the Malayan Emergency, with No. 3 Squadron RAAF and No. 77 Squadron RAAF. Following the Emergency, they remained in Malaysia at RAAF Butterworth. From August 1964 onwards these aircraft responded several times to incursions by Indonesian MiG-21 fighters. However, the Indonesian aircraft always turned back before crossing the international boundary.
In 1962, a detachment of eight CA-27s, which was later expanded and designated No. 79 Squadron RAAF (79 Sqn), was sent from Butterworth to RAAF Ubon, Ubon, Thailand, to assist the Thai and Laotian governments in actions against communist insurgents. Australia and Thailand were allies of South Vietnam and the United States during the Vietnam War, and 79 Sqn performed air defence for United States Air Force attack and bomber aircraft based at Ubon. The squadron never engaged North Vietnamese aircraft or ground forces and was withdrawn in 1968.
Former RAAF CAC Sabres were operated by the Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM) between 1969 and 1972. Following the establishment of better relations with Indonesia, 23 CAC Sabres were donated to the Indonesian Air Force (TNI-AU) between 1973 and 1975; five of these were former Malaysian aircraft.

Canadair CL-13 Sabre F.Mk.2
By paulopanz
The second generation of Canadair Sabre aircraft, and first to be built in quantity,
was the Mk 2, with 350 produced from 1952–1953. The RCAF received 290 of these improved
aircraft. During the first half of 1952, the remaining 60 Mk.2s were supplied to the
U.S. Air Force for use in the Korean War. Most RCAF Mk.2 Sabres were utilized in the air
defence role with NATO's No. 1 Air Division in Europe, proving itself to be an outstanding
dogfighter. Others were assigned to the training role at bases in Canada. After replacement
by the Sabre 5 in RCAF service from 1954, just over 210 surviving Sabre 2s were overhauled
and modified in the UK and supplied in roughly equal numbers to the Greek Air Force and
Turkish Air Forces.

Canadair CL-13 Sabre F.Mk.4
By paulopanz
In mid-1952, the Sabre Mk.4 went into production with the first one flown on 28 August 1952.
Apart from some minor structural and systems changes, including improved air-conditioning
and gun sight, the Mk 2 and the Mk 4 were identical. Of 438 Mk 4s built, approximately 70
were used temporarily by the RCAF, all surviving examples being passed to the RAF.
The other Sabre 4s went directly to the RAF under a mutual aid program, equipping 11 RAF
squadrons. The majority served in West Germany with NATO, with two squadrons being based
in the UK as part of RAF Fighter Command. The Sabre Mk.4 served with the RAF until mid-1956
when they were replaced by Hawker Hunters. The survivors were overhauled in the UK, fitted
with '6-3' wing modifications and handed to the USAF (which had funded these aircraft) which
in turn passed them on to other NATO members, with the majority going to Italy and Yugoslavia.

Canadair CL-13 Sabre F.Mk.5
By paulopanz
On 30 July 1953, the first Sabre Mk.5 flew with the Orenda 10 engine,
which gave it a clear rate of climb and ceiling advantage over earlier
variants. Other Mk 5 improvements included a new oxygen system and
improved maneuverability and low-speed characteristics achieved by
increasing the wing chord by six in (15.2 cm) at the root and three
in. (7.2 cm) at the wing tip along with fitting a small vertical wing
fence. This modification, originated by North American on the F-86F,
dramatically improved maneuverability, though the loss of the slatted
leading edge increased landing speed and degraded low speed handling
considerably. Canadair built 370 Mk 5s with the majority designated
for use in the RCAF's Air Division squadrons in Europe to replace
the Mk.2s. A total of 75 RCAF Sabre 5s were transferred to the German
Luftwaffe during 1957.

Canadair CL-13 Sabre F.Mk.6
By paulopanz
The Canadair Sabre Mk.6 was the final variant and was considered to be the "best" production Sabre ever built.
It was equipped with a two-stage Orenda engine developing 7,275 lb (3,302 kg.) of static thrust. Its altitude
performance and climb rate was enhanced over the Mk 5 and the reinstatement of the wing leading edge slat gave
it excellent low-speed characteristics. The first production model was completed on 2 November 1954 and
ultimately 655 were built with production terminating on 9 October 1958. A total of 390 Mk 6s went to the RCAF
with the majority replacing the existing Canadair Sabre Mk 5s at the Air Division squadrons in West Germany and
France. The main air threats to NATO in the 1950s in Central Europe were the early variants of the Soviet MiG
the MiG-15, MiG-17, MiG-19 and MiG-21. Based on the Korean War experience, the selection of the Mk 6 Sabre to
provide an effective opposition to the MiG threat proved to be a logical one. Canada’s commitment to NATO was
to provide 12 squadrons located at four bases – two in France (Marville and Grostenquin) and two in West Germany
(Zweibrücken and Baden Soellingen). Initially, the contribution consisted of only Sabre aircraft; however, later
it was decided to include the Avro Canada CF-100 aircraft in the defense package to provide a night and all-weather
fighter capability.
In addition to the RCAF deliveries, 225 Canadair Mk 6 Sabres were exported to the West German Luftwaffe, six were
delivered to the Colombian Air Force, and 34 went to the South African Air Force.

Canadair Sabre Mk.4 Pack, for SF2
By Wrench
Canadair Sabre Mk.4 Pack, Royal Air Force/Royal Canadian Air Force
= For SF2, Any & All (Full-5 Merged Reccomended) =
Version 2.0, updated 2/13/2106 -- see change log
This package contains a complete revamp, for SF2, of my RAF Sabre Mk.4, originally released for SF/Wo* in 2006.
Contained within are skin/decals for the following RAF Squadrons, and one RCAF squadron, from the 2nd TAF based in Germany in the 1950s. These 3 are in "standard" period Euro Camo:
3 Squadron
92 Squadron
112 Squadron (Sharkmouths)
and a revamped 1stGen RCAF skin:
414 Squadron, RCAF "Black Knights" (natural metal)
New skins for all were created using ravenclaw's beyond superb templates. All skins are in jpg format. Decal randomization is TRUE for all skins. New DDS damage textures are included, as is an all new SF2 version of my "Box Art" Hangar Screen. No weapons are supplied; drop tanks, rockets, bombs, etc can be found in the GunnyPak.
National insignia, finflash and 1 set of tail numbers reference stock items. Make sure you are current in your SF2 install! (read: I'm using RAF Hunter letters)
An all new, SF2-compliant FM was created for these aircraft; it flys like it should! A userlist ini is also included.
As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. Please READ them! Also, the "Notes" section for a more detailed change/correction list. The original readme from my SF/Wo* release is included, just for fun. Tim "Canada" Elliot's readme for the 414 skin is also included.
Happy Landings!

Special thanks to Spinners for making the 3D model more accurate and making me find some better reference material :)
Updated for SF 2 series by MigBuster and Spinners (July 2009)
In 1957 the Royal Rhodesian Air Force ordered 15 B.2s and three T.4s. These were delivered two years later. These were said to have seen action in several regional wars in the area. The version here represents the RRAF from 1971 to 1980. (Rhodesia is now called Zimbabwe)
In 1961 three ex-RAF Canberras were purchased by Germany for trials and experimental use flying with Erprobungstelle 61 - these were delived in 1966.

Special thanks to "Spinners" for tweaking the 3D model to be more like the real Canberra - didn't realise they were so out!
Updated for SF 2 series by MigBuster and Spinners (July 2009)
The B.mk20 was licence built B.mk2 by the Government Aircraft Factories, Melbourne, Australia. It featured an increased fuel capacity thanks to wing fuel tanks and outer wing pylons were also added.
The B.mk20 was used by the Australian RAAF between around 1966 and 1971 in conflict during the Vietnam war as part of the US 35th TFW.
The version in this pack is the later model with the Avon 109 engines and has outer wing pylons according to pictures ive seen. It is also mentioned that the RAAF could use wingtip racks for extra bombs though not too sure on that.

The RAF's first bomber, the Canberra, had a career spanning over 51 years on the front lines. Chief designer W. Petter had just joined the design team at English Electric when work began on the Canberra. He changed the swept wings of the original design to a more unconventional design with the engines part way out on, and embedded in, the wing. The end sections of the wings were broad and square, and two powerful Rolls-Royce Avon engines completed the design. The crew of two sat side-by-side in a pressurized cabin. With good fuel economy, and excellent maneuverability at all altitudes, the EE.A1 was an instant success.
The prototype was first flown on May 13, 1949, and was problem-free. The first four prototypes were designated the Canberra B.MK 1, and were intended for use with a radar-assisted bomb aiming system. A delay in this system led to the production of a day bomber prototype, the Canberra B.MK 2, and the first operational aircraft were delivered on May 25, 1951.
Around 410 B.mk2s were built for the RAF - some saw action in the 1956 Suez crisis.

The B(I) mk8 was derived from the B(I)mk6 and retains the same Engines, fuel load and loadout. The main change was a redesigned nose and offset fighter style canopy - which was put in place due to the targetting difficulties of the B.mk2 fishbowl style canopy.
The B.1 Mk8 Interdictor came into service in 1956 with around 69 being built. Other Later variants also used the offset Fighter style canopy.

Tropicalized B(I)8 for India. In January 1957 India placed a large order for the Canberra:
a total of 54 B(I)58 bombers that later became 79. It was used by No. 5, 6, 16, 35 Squadrons and JBCU OCU.
First used in combat by the IAF in 1962, the Canberra was employed during the UN campaign against the breakaway Republic of Katanga in Africa.
During the Indo-Pakistani Wars of the 1960s and 1970s.
The entire Indian Air Force Canberra fleet was grounded and then retired following the crash of an IAF Canberra in December 2005.
