    1. SBD-2/3 Daunless, VS-6, USS Enterprise, Pearl Harbor

SBD-3 Dauntless Skin, VS-6, USS Enterprise; for SF/WoV/WoE PTO installs

"Pearl Harbor Defenders" - American Bombers

This skin and Ini Update Pak for Wolf257's SBD Dauntless dive bomber represents VS-6 (Scouting Squadron 6) as based aboard USS Enterprise in December, 1941.

Coloring and Decals represent the standard type markings as seen on Naval/Marine aircraft of the time, and include NEW BuNums and aircraft type name on the tail. BuNums are accurate, as they ARE from -2 & -3 Dauntless', but my research has only turned up 6 actual numbers as used by VS-6 that day. Unfortunately, they are the aircraft that were lost...
A new decal is also used for the arrestor hook; it finally gets some color :)

Ini mods include (yes, yet again!) some small lighting corrections from my pervious release of several years ago, modification of the StartYear; I've made it earlier, and the addition of a seat for the pilot to 'park it' on. The cockpit ini has a replacement 'ring-and-bead' type sight that is closer to the reticle in the (then) standard telescopic site used on all the early model (up until the -5 variant) Dauntless.

-= NOTE: You MUST have the Bunyap Weapons Pak of 6/06 to get the WW2 weapons and guns and such =-
-== This aircraft has been tested in SF/WoV/WoE and post-patch WoI (8/08) as well as post 9/08 & 10/08 SF/WoV/WoE. There still are some 'issues' with prop-plane flight models, but there has been a MARKED improvement!! You use it in these Post Patch Environments at YOUR own risk ==-

As always, unzip this to a temp folder somwhere, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions.

    2. SBD-3 Dauntless, VB-3 Battle of Midway skin

SBD Dauntless, VB-3 USS Yorktown, Battle of Midway Skin - For SF/WoV/WoE WW2 PTO Installs-
This is a skin set representing VB-3 aboard USS Yorktown, June 4, 1942 during the Battle of Midway.
Yorktown and Hornet used a slightly different numbering style than Enterprise; having the numbers aft of the fuselage star. This may be because a lot of these aircraft were possibly Lexingtion survivors (unlikely), or transfered over from Saratoga as she had returned to Bremerton for repairs.

It's a standard non-specular blue over gray, with the "modex" or plane-in-group numbers in black. Aircraft type name and BuNum decals are also included.
It's pretty much standard for the time; it was transitional period just after the ordered removal of the VERY disliked enlarged star w/meatball and the 13 red and white rudder stripes. Due to the extingincies of war, I'd think getting the numbers placed and painted properly was NOT a high-priority item <wink>

A pretty easy to follow install sequence is in the enclosed read me. It dosen't even need decoding, as it's in plain language, NOT JN-25

    3. SBD-3 Dauntless, VS-8 Battle of Midway

SBD Dauntless, VS-8 USS Hornet, Battle of Midway Skin set - For SF/WoV/WoE WW2 PTO Installs-
This is a skin set representing VS-8 aboard USS Hornet, June 4, 1942 during the Battle of Midway.
Yorktown and Hornet used a slightly different numbering style than Enterprise; having the numbers aft of the fuselage star.

It's a standard non-specular blue over gray, with the "modex" or plane-in-group numbers in white. Aircraft type name and BuNum decals are also included.
It's pretty much standard for the time, with the exception of the lettering being aft of the fuselage star

You use it in these
Post Patch Environments at YOUR own risk ==-

*yes, I know that both VB-8 and VS-8 never found the Carrier Striking Force, but hey, why not have the skins for the OTHER attacks they participated in, humm???*

Simple, easy to follow instructions in the enclosed readme. You know the drill....

    4. SBD-3, VS-41 'Operation Torch' Ver.2

      SBD-3 Dauntless, VS-41 "Operation Torch"

Skin and Ini Pak for SF/SFG/WoV/WoE MTO Installs (06 Level ONLY)

      Version 2

This skin represents aircraft from VS-41 "Tophatters" as seen aboard USS RANGER during Operation Torch, the Invasion of North Africa.

This is a complete and utter replacement/revamp of a skin I released 2005; it has been completely redone using my
enhanced template, repainted in the proper Non-Specular blue/gray, and has all new decals of the proper font re-created.

All new Modex/Plane-in-Group numbers for 18 aircraft, 'generic' BuNums and aircraft type name decals have also been
made. I say 'generic', as they ARE SBD-3 BuNums, but could find no information on the aircraft assigned VS-41 during Torch.

A new 'carrier deck' hangar screen, more specific for TORCH, is also included.

Included is a modified data ini, with a 1942 start year, for use in a MTO =ONLY= style install. More info is below in the 'To Install' section.

-= NOTE: You MUST have the WW2 Weapons Pak from CombatAce to get the WW2 weapons and guns and such =-

-== This aircraft has been tested in SF/WoV/WoE 06-patch levels (actually 06 WoE) of the aformentioned sims. It has NOT, however been testing in the SF2 Series. But it if works in 08, it works there, too.. There still are some 'issues' with prop-plane flight models, but there has been a MARKED improvement!! You use it in these Post Patch/SF2 Environments at YOUR own risk ==-

As always, it's reccomended you unzip this package to a temp folder or your desktop, or somewhere's else that's easy to find to gain access to the rest of this readme for full, detailed install instructions. It's also required that you actually READ the enclosed readme....

    5. SF1 Korean War Corsair Pack for TMF F4U7/AU-1

      SF1 Korean War Corsair Pack
      For the TMF F4U7 / AU-1 Corsair.
These are converted/repainted skins and ini file tweaks of Wrench's SF2 Corsairs paks for use in a SF1 Korea War install.  This is a complete aircraft pak containing 4 different Corsair versions and 23 unit skins.

The skins are in .bmp format at 1024 x 1024 pixels each.
      -----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks and credit go to (from Wrench's original read me file).
"TMF/Mod Mafia for ALL these Corsairs: with special thanks to BPAO - we miss you Oli!
and also to Crusader, Mod Mafia Leader (xTMF)
RussoUK for the engine sound, borrowed from the P-47N
Me, for alot of the skins and decals and some ini reworking and assembling the package, and bottle washing.
More Skins by CrazyHorseB34 (thanks man!)."
And to Geary - for new lines, rivets, repaints, conversions, ini tweaks, a few decals, adding .50 cal painted gun ports to F4U-4, etc...
But, especially to Wrench for all the work he did in putting the original Corsair paks together.
      --------------------------------------------------------------------
I used parts and pieces from Wrench's sf2_kaw_f4u4_cosairs_pak, his sf2_f4u5_corsair_pak, his sf2_kaw_corsairs file and his SF1 f4u4b_pak to get some of these tweaks to work in SF1.

      ---------- Installation Instructions --------------------------
If you have any of these aircraft installed, you must rename or remove them.
INSTALLATION:  Unzip to a folder/place of your choice.  Copy, Move, Drag-n-Drop or do whatever you wish to get the folders into their corresponding folders in your SF1 Korea install. Fly.

If you don't have the correct weapons, look in the many weapons packs available here at CombatAce.

There's a repainted m38_jeep.bmp that the 500lb and 1000lb bomb use as a skin.  If you want to use it, just drop it into your weapons folder and overwrite the old one.
      -----------------------------------------------
I've included a repainted drop tank to match the aircraft skin color.  Installation instructions are in the Weapons folder and in the SF1 Knowledge Base.
      -------------------------------------------------

    6. SF1 P-51D ETO Aircraft and Skins

SF1 P-51D ETO Aircraft and Skins

For those of us that still fly SF1 and noticed there were very few P-51D ETO skins that use the decal system:

      3 skins for Wolf257's P-51D.

      343rd FS, 55th FG.
      363rd FS, 357th FG.
      487th FS. 352nd FG.

There is no nose art with these skins.

      Thanks and credit go to:
      Wolf257 - for the P-51D model.
Pappychksix - for the 343rd skin I repainted from his SF1 Evelyn skin.
Amariani - for the decals from his SF2 P-51D ETO skins.
Geary - for template, paints, repaints, etc...
I don't know who created the WW II pilot or the drop tanks. They've been around since the dinosaurs. But thanks to those creators.

If you wish to paint your own skins, the template is available for the asking. Just PM me. It is in .psd format.

These skins are in .bmp format and were created at 2048 pixels. They are 12MB each but can be downsized for those of you who can't use them this large.

If I forget or miss anyone who deserves credit for anything I release, I apologize. I have no intent to abuse or misuse anyone's work or property or claim it as my own. Please contact me to correct any error.

INSTALLATION: Unzip to a folder/place of your choice. Copy, Move, Drag-n-Drop or do whatever you wish to get the folders into their corresponding folders in your SF1 ETO install. 16. Syrian Texan (1948)

      Texan
      Syrian Air Force 1948

This is a set of decals and a repaint of the SNJ_6 by Rob "Bunyap" McCray. The original Texan skin by Pappychksix.

This skin comes from the Harvard/Texan by Alphasim for Flight Simulator X (base textures by Frank Safranek) and a re-paint by Henry William. My contribution has been to adapt it for SFP1 and so is minimal. I've used some poetic licence about the colour scheme.

France provided Syria with Canadian built Harvard/Texans shortly after WWII. They were used in 1948 quite successfully in the ground attack role.

SBD Dauntless, VB-6 USS Enterprise, Battle of Midway Skin set, Version 2.0
      - For SF/WoV/WoE WW2 PTO Installs- 2/11/08

This is a complete and utter replacement/revamp of a skin I released 2005; it has been complete redone using my enhanced template, repainted in the proper Non-specular blue/gray, and has had all new decals of the proper font created. "Plane-in-Group" numbers for 18 aircraft, BuNums and aircraft type name decals have also been made.

This is desinged to REPLACE, in it's entirety, that original version. Nothing in there is even worth saving!! If you don't have it, good for you!! It was the very first skin/decal set I'd ever made....

    21. VF-6 'Shooting Stars" F4F-3 Wildcat

F4F-3 Wildcat Skin, VF-6, USS Enterprise, 12/7/41; for SF/WoV/WoE PTO installs

"Pearl Harbor Defenders" - American Fighters

This skin represents VF-6 "Shooting Stars" as based aboard USS Enterprise in December, 1941.

Decals represent the standard type markings as seen on Naval/Marine aircraft of the time, and include BuNums and aircraft type name on the tail. BuNums are accurate, as they ARE from -3 Wildcats, but my research has not turned up WHICH actual numbers were used on aircraft assigned to VF-6.

--NOTE: this mod is designed for use ONLY on the F4F-3 Wildcat mod I released some ago; NOT for the F4F-4. Totally different aircraft-- If you don't have the Update Pak for the -3 Wildcat, you can get it from Combat Ace:

      VF-85 F4U-1c Decal Fix

      For SF1/WOV/WOE PTO/CBI installs

This fixes the blank decal's that show up and stops the decal no show (hopefully). I have included a filler decal so when the game engine cycle’s the numbers there is a decal that will show. Just the VF-85 lightning bolt with no number.

To install: Unzip and just drop the VF-85 folder in to your F4U-1c folder, over right? Say Yes.
I have also updated the numbers.lst

The RCN equipped Nos 803 and 883 Squadrons (later designated VF-870 and VF-871) with the Hawker SEA FURY. these squadrons flew 75 Sea Furies from February, 1948 to April, 1957 operating from both HMCS Magnificent and its replacement, HMCS Bonaventure. One of the Sea Fury's acquired was a Mk.10 while the other 74 were F.B. Mk.11s. These were both single seat fighters and fighter-bombers, and were similar except that the Mk 11s were equipped to carry the 100/1,000 pound jettisonable wing bomb carriers. The outer portions of the wings of both models could be folded upwards hydraulically to facilitate stowage below decks on an aircraft carrier.

I would like to thank Simon Porter for all the hard work he put into creating the Sea Fury. Thanks to Saguanay for reference material and also to David Hanvey and Paul Barry who created a wonderful FS 2004 model of the Sea Fury which I used as reference.
      Have fun!

    25. VMF-211 "Wake Island Defenders" F4F-3 Wildcat

      F4F-3 Wildcat Skin for SF/WoV/WoE Original Release: Nov. 10, 2005, Updated 12/18/08

      VMF-211 "Wake Island Defenders"

(looks like this is yet ANOTHER one that never made it here to CA!!!)

      ==UPDATED 12/18/08!!!!!==
      -From the Original Readme:

This skin represents the 12 Wildcats from Marine Fighter Squadron 211, during the Defense of Wake.
I must apologize for the doubts I have about historical accuracy, as the 3 artworks and 2 photos I have or have seen, the only numbers visible are "8" and "11". So I made the assumption that aircraft 1 - 12 were flown off one of the carriers to reinforce the Marine garrison. If this is incorrect, I extend my apologies to any of our Marine brothers and sisters out there playing this.

The placement of the numbers on the upper wing, nose and vert tail is as of my research on the other -3 skins I did, for the approximate same time period. As none of the art or pics showed the tail, I safely assume this is correct.

And as today is the 235 Birthday of the Corps, this is my way of saying "Thank You" for almost 2 and a half centuries of service to our Great Country

      --Update Info:

This package will replace, in it's entirety, the VMF-211 skin released in 2005.

The update includes a completly REDONE skin, based off new templates I created for some other Wildcat mods, ALL new decals (of the correct font and size) including BuNums and the aircraft name tag on the rudder.

As usual, there's a nice conscise ReadMe for you to NOT ignore...so please read it!!

Expect the full version of the -3 'cat to appear very shortly...
