+Flanker562 Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I tried to go on SimHQ and it I guess finally died. A staff member before was mentioning that the user base was declining and such. I guess they finally axed it?
redwood Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Works fine so far I was having difficulty for a few days though.
+GKABS Posted January 10 Posted January 10 I believe they were facing some tactical problems on their server. 1
undaunted_aviator Posted January 14 Posted January 14 They have problems with their site for months. In a day it is multiple times on and off. Quite annoying when doing some research on some retro games.
+Erik Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Today's internet is no joke or laughing matter. Keeping machines online against AI and AI bots is a struggle, one we battle with daily and it sucks so I feel for them. 5
+Flanker562 Posted January 14 Author Posted January 14 The BI forums got hit so hard that it's only in Read-Only mode, and I guess switched to Discord as the means to talk to players.
MR_ZARIGUELLO Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago SimHQ refugee here, Discord is winning slowly but steadly the battle against forums.
+Flanker562 Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago Well CA seems to be winning it unless Erik decides to move to Discord or something like that.
VonBeerhofen Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Past week or so I've only experienced minor logon issues which were usually solved after a few tries. The list of visitors displays a pretty constant number of logons where the number of displayed members is averagely around 10 or so. The numbers can vary depending on time of day in certain continents but Europe and USA seem well represented. Being a European my experience may not represent other people's experiences, besides that the internet can behave pretty irregular at times the closer one resides near Russia. Right now I have no issues with either HQ or CA sites. VBH
+Flanker562 Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago Yeah one of the admins was talking about the lowering user base, and so on, so I think that they're as said, losing to Discord and so on, or other forums. The Arma series area is dead except for my posting, and nobody comments other than me, but I also don't use SimHQ for anything but to post updates for my mods. I think if they updated the site and produced more content, maybe they could get more people. I'm on Mudspike and it doesn't seem like a lot of people either, but that's how it goes I guess. So far CA has attracted some people (Erik could obviously tell you the stats and such, and so on) of this site, but I think that we're fine with the user base so far.
