Mig-29S: Modern Updates and Loadouts, No New Skin Other: Most have the Lastest Weapon Pack and Sound Pack It's a Beta that means that it may have some bugs More to Come!! JediMaster 451 Posted April 23, 2007 Actually, the Ye-8 looks merely like the same thing the US did with the F-86D or the Chinese did with the A-5/Q-5. You take an existing plane with a nose-mounted intake and put it somewhere else so you can put a large dish radar in the nose. That's just a MiG-21 behind the wing leading edge. The front put the intake underneath the cockpit so a big old dish could go up there. That is what MiG did with the MiG-23 and 25, after all, after years of making jets with nose intakes. The Rafale and EAP flew in the 1980s, although the production variants took till now. The B-1 certainly did, although it didn't really use them for lift. The Tu-144 had them for T/O and landing.
