Guest USNadpc Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 hehe, Why? and by what authority and for what reasons do You propose are distinguished or undistinguished? Could you describe the criteria for future reference? I'm sure the list of this is long... and undistinguished... Maybe, I'm just guessing, that you are referencing the click here? Individually just ask yourselves what click do I belong, and why do I need to belong to it? USNadpc Quote
Rambler 1-1 Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 Helicopters count, but that's not ugly. THIS is ugly. It's called the Mil-18. I think Mil is short for Miloslav or something. It's russian, and in typical russian style, it works great at it's job and doesn't do much else. LOOK! It can actually fly! Quote
+suhsjake Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 Mi-2 NATO Name Hoplite. Introduced in the mid 1960's. Its sort of like the UH-1 Huey in the roles it takes. Quote
jtin Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Some say that the F-35 won just because of it's better looks. I'm just amazed the hippo can get off the ground. Quote
Rambler 1-1 Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 well well well, if it isn't the grinning bird eater itself. I knew it'd show up. btw, Fates, It counts, but only if you can feel the magic. That's one seriously pudgy tinkerbelle. Quote

It's russian, and in typical russian style, it works great at it's job and doesn't do much else. LOOK! It can actually fly! This is Mi-2 (like suhsjake wrote). Warsav pact was standardly armed with Mi-2 (not only, of course. There were Mi-4, Mi-8, Mi-17, Mi-24 and their versions in the service). We have Mi-2 still in our air force service (Slovak republic, ex Czechoslovakia). And I don't think, that Mi-2 is ugly, hehe Mi-4 is "little" ugly duckling, I thing. It is not looking like miss universe, but it was very helpfull and popular. For more screenshots click on the links below: Mi-2 Mi-4 Mi-1 Site is primary in czech language, but you can click on english flag, and than it will be easier for you. If you want, click ot he link below. There is search in english. This site is very helpfull for me. forum.valka.cz Quote
SayethWhaaaa Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Does this count? Disney has their own wing of long range strategic bombers...? Actually, that's not all that surprising really. EDIT: Oh wait... I thought that was a BUFF. Carry on. Quote
Muesli Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 The French were masters in designing, producing AND flying ugly planes in the years between the 1st and 2nd WW... Really, I think it was a design trend there, almost EVERY manufacturer created these... Of course, the French have always been a bit....... peculiar! http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww15/b/855/21/0/5 (also great for growing vegetables). http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww15/b/427/21/0/4 http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww15/b/1528/21/0/1 (chopped to reduce weight?) http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww15/b/859/21/0/6 (can also be used to grind coffee) http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww15/t/1384/21/0/1 (derelict shoe boxes) http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww2/f/1517/21/0/1 http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww2/f/1635/21/0/1 And finally, a perfect example of the German thought "Anything you can do, I can do better!": http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww2/s/1693/2/0/1 Enjoy, and wash your eyes after watching!
