Hey guys.

I wanted to have some fun, and went on a strike mission in the north.

My target was a ammo bunker, but thats not the point.

After finishing off my primery, I still had some airial threats and was left off with only A2G weapons.

Will I give the fight up and go home??

You should know me better by now.:idhitit:

Here are some pics.

enjoy.

Locking on the mig with a Maverick, and off he goes.

 I love doing that! Works the opposite to! Yesterday I launched a nuclear falcon at an SA-2 and had 85 kills!

I have switched to air threats whilst I had a Maverick selected, and saw them pictured, but never thought to take the shot!

Probably a better hit percentage than the A-A missiles at this time...

:good:

More than likely in game mechanics it doesn't register as a "threat" and the enemy fighter doesn't jink or drop countermeasures (Yes I know an optically guided weapon won't even "think" about such a thing but talking about AI behavior, not real life tactics).

AFAIK, real attack choppers can use their A2G missiles against slow-flying targets. At least Russian "Vikhr" can be fired that way...

I still have to try MK-82 to shoot down something with wings.

in ATF from Janes I was hunting helos with LGB`s, you could point the laser on the helo and release the weapon from a nice small angle,... 9 from 10 hits the helo. Don`t know how this works here in SF series. It was nice to hunt down with Aim-9L some groundtargets..

There was also a report of Hind shooting down a fighter jet head-on but I looked through available info and they all mention different weapon - ATGM, rockets, and gun

The Iraq Hind shooting down Iranian Phantom? It was by gun if my memory serves me well.
