Request for a Tornado SEA skin...

I was trying to create a SEA skin for the Tornado GR1 for a campaign I'm working on, but I'm limited to using paint and it really wasn't working for me. Is there any skinner out there that could whip one up for me? This would be for the GR1 that comes in the Tornado package (oldest one for download at CA).

 

I was thinking something like the 617 scheme, with the greys replaced by tan or brown.

I do most heartily second that :yes: Download the Gimp, give it a try, and you'll be amazed at how good you are at (computer-) painting. MS Paint is really no good for anything and can be a really frustrating experience.

What kills me is that MS has clung tenaciously to that travesty for so many years.

 

The one program they saw fit NOT to improve since Windows for Workgroups 3.11.

MS Paint is meant to be as basic as Wordpad. Now, who uses Wordpad for writing, let's say, academic texts?

Yep can't do much in MS Paint.

But saying that - unless you are that good an artist use PS/GIMP - much easier anyway :)

It's as 'basic' as Wordpad.

 

Nor did I say that you can't paint with MS Paint, it just has a lot less tools and options than Photoshop or GIMP.

Exactly!!! Does look weird, but I'm sure some people thought the "pink" tornados were weird at first too.

I think I see why it looks a bit "freaky" the SEA scheme had the undersides painted a sort of cream color, not wraparound.

Budget cuts within the MOD you know...they wouldn't sanction the purchase of FS 36622 paint - the cheapskates !

Still a bit of tweaking to do, still working with no template it's a real PITA, but at least you get the general idea of what she'll look like.
