sparkomatic 7 Posted September 6, 2008 I see a red door and I want it painted black No colors anymore I want them to turn black I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes I have to turn my head until my darkness goes I see a line of cars and theyre all painted black With flowers and my love both never to come back I see people turn their heads and quickly look away Like a new born baby it just happens evry day I look inside myself and see my heart is black I see my red door and it has been painted black Maybe then Ill fade away and not have to face the facts Its not easy facin up when your whole world is black No more will my green sea go turn a deeper blue I could not foresee this thing happening to you If I look hard enough into the settin sun My love will laugh with me before the mornin comes I see a red door and I want it painted black No colors anymore I want them to turn black I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes I have to turn my head until my darkness goes Hmm, hmm, hmm,... I wanna see it painted, painted black Black as night, black as coal I wanna see the sun blotted out from the sky I wanna see it painted, painted, painted, painted black Yeah! ONETINSOLDIER 2 Posted September 6, 2008 We're a ship without a storm The cold without the warm Light inside the darkness that it needs, yeah We're a laugh without a tear The hope without the fear We are coming - home We're off to the witch We may never never never come home But the magic that we'll feel Is worth a lifetime We're all born upon the cross The throw before the toss You can release yourself But the only way is down We don't come alone We are fire we are stone We're the hand that writes Then quickly moves away We'll know for the first time If we're evil or divine We're the last in line We're the last in line Two eyes from the east It's the angel or the beast And the answer lies between The good and bad We search for the truth We could die upon the tooth But the thrill of just the chase Is worth the pain We'll know for the first time If we're evil or divine We're the last in line We're the last in line THE LAST IN LINE ! +littlesmoke 64 Posted September 6, 2008 'Dear Sir, I write this note to you to tell you of me plight and at the time of writing, I am not a pretty sight; me body is all black and blue, me face a deathly gray and I write this note to say why Paddy's not at work today. While working on the fourteenth floor some bricks I had to clear; now, to throw them down from such a height was not a good idea. the foreman wasn't very pleased, he being an awkward sod he said I'd have to cart them down the ladder in me hod. Now, clearing all these bricks by hand it was so very slow, so I hoisted up a barrel and secured the rope below. But in me haste to do the job I was too blind to see that a barrel full of building bricks was heavier than me. So when I untied the rope the barrel fell like lead and clinging tightly to the rope I started up instead. Well, I shot up like a rocket till to my dismay I found that halfway up I met the bloody barrel coming down. Well, the barrel broke me shoulder as to the ground it sped, and when I reached the top I banged the pulley with my head. Well, I clung on tight though numb with shock from this almighty blow and the barrel spilled out half the bricks fourteen floors below. Now, when these bricks had fallen from the barrel to the floor I then outweighed the barrel and so started down once more; still clinging tightly to the rope, I sped towards the ground, and I landed on the broken bricks that were all scattered round. Well, I lay there groaning on the ground, I thought I'd passed the worst, when the barrel hit the pulley-wheel and then the bottom burst. Well, a shower of bricks rained down on me, I hadn't got a hope as I lay there moaning on the ground, I let go the bloody rope. The barrel then being heavier, it started down once more, and landed right across me, as I lay upon the floor. Well, it broke three ribs and my left arm and I can only say that I hope you'll understand why Paddy's not a work today.'
Gr.Viper 131 Posted September 7, 2008 A poor aviator lay dying At the end of a bright summer's day His comrades had gathered about him To carry his fragments away The airplane was piled on his wishbone His Hotchkiss was wrapped round his head He wore a spark-plug on each elbow 'Twas plain he would shortly be dead He spit out a valve and a gasket And stirred in the sump where he lay And then to his wondering comrades These brave parting words he did say "Take the magneto out of my stomach, And the butterfly valve off my neck, Extract from my liver the crankshaft, There are lots of good parts in this wreck" "Take the manifold out of my larynx, And the cylinders out of my brain, Take the piston rods out of my kidneys, And assemble the engine again." sparkomatic 7 Posted September 7, 2008 I hurt myself today To see if I still feel I focus on the pain The only thing that's real The needle tears a hole The old familiar sting Try to kill it all away But I remember everything [Chorus:] What have I become My sweetest friend Everyone I know goes away In the end And you could have it all My empire of dirt I will let you down I will make you hurt I wear this crown of thorns Upon my liar's chair Full of broken thoughts I cannot repair Beneath the stains of time The feelings disappear You are someone else I am still right here [Chorus:] What have I become My sweetest friend Everyone I know goes away In the end And you could have it all My empire of dirt I will let you down I will make you hurt If I could start again A million miles away I would keep myself I would find a way

Stick 773 Posted September 7, 2008 (edited) My girl thinks its your happy song, Dave. Man I was in splits. Oh yeah, mine is Sky Pilot. He blesses the boys as they stand in line The smell of gun grease and the bayonets they shine He's there to help them all that he can To make them feel wanted he's a good holy man Sky pilot.....sky pilot How high can you fly You'll never, never, never reach the sky He smiles at the young soldiers Tells them its all right He knows of their fear in the forthcoming fight Soon there'll be blood and many will die Mothers and fathers back home they will cry Sky pilot.....sky pilot How high can you fly You'll never, never, never reach the sky He mumbles a prayer and it ends with a smile The order is given They move down the line But he's still behind and he'll meditate But it won't stop the bleeding or ease the hate As the young men move out into the battle zone He feels good, with God you're never alone He feels tired and he lays on his bed Hopes the men will find courage in the words that he said Sky pilot.....sky Pilot How high can you fly You'll never, never, never reach the sky You're soldiers of God you must understand The fate of your country is in your young hands May God give you strength Do your job real well If it all was worth it Only time it will tell In the morning they return With tears in their eyes The stench of death drifts up to the skies A soldier so ill looks at the sky pilot Remembers the words "Thou shalt not kill" Sky pilot.....sky pilot How high can you fly You never, never, never reach the sky Edited September 7, 2008 by Stick
Doghouse 0 Posted September 7, 2008 Wow Dave, you need to start listening to the good music. May I direct you to this place; http://chu65nang67.us/nam/vietnam.html You can't download the music there, only play it. However, if you fire up a wav recording or similar program, you can record while you listen to it. Works much faster than downloading anyway. And is a great source of material for doing music mods. Plus there are a couple links there to similar sites.

FastCargo 412 Posted September 7, 2008 Not my favorite, but Dick Jonas was doin' it long before Dos Gringos existed... I'm a Thud Pilot I love my plane It is my body I am its brain My Thunderchief loves me And I love her too But I get the creeps With only one seat And one engine too She's faster than lightning It says on her dials To get a Thud airborne Takes only two miles She's packed with transistors Black boxes, diodes But stay alert 'cause you might get hurt When she explodes She totes more bombs Than a B Seventeen My F One Oh Five Has a gun and she's mean But there is one thing That curdles my blood It's lonesome up there Alone in the air In my single seat Thud I love my Thud And she loves me too But she soaks up flak Like a magnet can do If I get my hundred And I'm still alive I'll have no grief Goodbye, Thunderchief My F One Oh Five FastCargo
