If anybody can tell me the origin of the "Lee Mallory" reference and what it pertains to, you've got a beta slot.

EDIT: Or, I should say, an Alpha slot.

Anything to do with a song named "That's The Way It's Going To Be", may be???

P.S. Just a wild guess, seemed spot on initially.

Introducing the F-35: Lee Mallory Edition!

If you're talking about the RAF big wings, then its Leigh-Mallory

Oh, man.

I actually went and investigated it, and wondered where the association with a "barely made it" San Francisco singer was with this aircraft.

Wikipedia also mentioned Leigh-Mallory at the top, and found the Vice Air Marshall to be quite interesting, but still didn't see the connection.

Big wings?

Ga-roan.

Luckily your 3D modeling is much better than your attempts at comedy...

Don't stop him! He's on a roll! Who knows what he might do next!?

REALLY nice job on both -35's. Definetly top notch.

Maybe we should start leaving offerings at your door...

I just flew a quick mission in IL2 flying 3 Spit Is against a gaggle of HE-111s with a bunch of Ron Goodwin music in the background. I'm feeling very English lately, for some reason.

Nowt Wrong with that LOL..... AVM Leigh-Mallory was in charge of 3grp Fighter Command... the one that covered Norfolk upwards on the Left-hand side of the country ( Norfolk, Yorkshire, Tyneside etc.... )

its stated in numerous texts and the film Battle of Britain ( old film but still ace lol ) that his fighter sqaudrons were often late to the fight, choosing to attack the enemy bombers after they had already attacked the airfields of 2grp much to the annoyance of AVM Keith Park who's Squadrons in Kent and the Southeast took the brunt of the casualties and airfield damage during the Battle of Britain before they Luftwaffe turned on London.

The "Big Wing" bit comes from Leigh-Mallory's much vaunted tactic of massed squadrons attacking the enemy formations simultaneously, thus creating one huge "big wing" of figher aircraft, But Keith Park didnt like it much cos the "Big Wing" was always late to the party and the airfields got hammered

Nah, the big wing version is better, although I have to admit that to me even the big wing version looks way to small to me...(I'm talking about the real aircraft here, not Klavs' model)

I dunno... the extra wing space makes a fully loaded wing seem less crowded. The A model carrying outer wing IRMs just looks a little off IMO (not the the TW sim model, the actual RL design of the outer wing rails). Yeah, I can't quite put my finger on it...

I have to agree with Andrew, thew C model looks less crowded. But its still stubby.
