savagkc Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Loading.wav - while waiting for an aircraft to load into the game (white loading bar on bottom of screen), I thought there was a way to add another .wav file for use during this load time.... I have a loading.wav file in the flight folder, i replaced the one that was there but it dont play at all.. How do i do this? thanks, savagcl Quote
DWCAce Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 I haven't changed mine in a while, but as long as it has the same name as the original, and is a wav, it should work. Quote
+Dave Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 I deleted mine. Nothing but silence. Its nice. Quote
FastCargo Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Also, the wav has to be coded a specific way I think. Stereo I think. FC Quote
serverandenforcer Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 (edited) I deleted mine. Nothing but silence. Its nice. What!? You deleted the Danger Zone one from Top Gun that I sent you a while ago? That was a classic loadingscreen.wav. Even HornetFixr loved it Edited February 3, 2009 by serverandenforcer Quote
savagkc Posted February 3, 2009 Author Posted February 3, 2009 I had my sfp1 (XP) set to Guitar Boogie sounded great! After putting it into vista (sfp1\flight\loading.wav) i dont get any sound..... Used the same .wav format as in XP. savagcl Quote
+76.IAP-Blackbird Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 the wave format doesn`t matter the quality is important you can convert mp3 oder cda files into waves with specific khz frequenz.. but don`t ask wich it was 22 or 44 don`t know Quote
Anthony W. Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 I deleted mine. Nothing but silence. Its nice. Yep... That is nice... No blaring music just before you need to make your checks for taxi and takeoff.. Quote

Fubar512 Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Here's an alternative loading.wav that I made up just for Dave (and for the ODS mod). He likes it soooo much, that he has it set to constantly loop in the cockpit. Just extract it into your flight folder. loading.rar Quote

Coot Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 I think some of the music from the Vietcong fps game would work well as WOV menus. I've also been using some of the great ol' midi music from Jane's ATF/FA for my menus. Some of those are good for WOV too. Here's a Vietcong song that I like from the game: Quote
vulkan Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Hey guys ! I use a cool free SOUNDEDITOR software it called AUDACITY . ! It is similar like sony soundforge you can find audacity with google-search vulkan Quote
+Dave Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 FYI Do not distrubute copyrighted music on this site. We would like to stay open and not get sued. Quote
Coot Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 I wouldn't think of doing it. But if someone owns those games, those are some music suggestions that I think work well for menu music for the TW series. I already assumed that you can't upload music. But there is TopGun menu music for download that I've wondered about as well as some other sound mods that have some oldies in them. Quote

gumpy Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Is that why all those sound mods are gone in the download section? Quote
Fubar512 Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Is that why all those sound mods are gone in the download section? It's because Dave felt inadequate. He also closed a thread in the pub, because, again, he felt......inadequate.... Quote
