hey ericJ i've been having an idea.

current implementation of the radar is actually apg-73 with a mechanical scan. perhaps an apg-79 aesa radar can be modelled by using a very fast scan rate?

tried on my own avionics mod and it works rather good. (scanrate=4800, got rid of the azimuth/elevation carets, YOffsetElevation=FALSE for target altitude)

Well... if the 79's radar capabilities were known I'd probably do it, but since I don't know, I don't modify it accordingly.

Small update if you're having issues with Ravenclaw's AIM-120s:

 

DiameterLimit=0.179000

LengthLimit=3.67000

 

for all AHM pylons in the Data entries.

Small fix for the RAAF F/A-18F sorry guys, download the fixed FA-18F_RAAF.ini file, un pack it and drop it in the 'FA-18F_RAAF ' folder allowing it to over-ride.

The problem is the 'AircraftFullName=F/A-18F Block II/+ Super Hornet (RAAF)' line is to long and may cause a crash when trying to make a custom SEAD single mission so it needs to be shortened to the following: 'AircraftFullName=F/A-18F Block II/+ Super Hornet RAAF'

I am having a problem with the Growler.

When I try to fly it in both SF2E and SF2NA (both patched ot the latest level), the game loads to 100%, then I am getting a black screen and the game crashes.

I am not having this problem with the E and F. I also did not have this problem with the Growler from previous versions of the pack.

So I wonder if this is cockpit-related issue, afterall the cockpit is the only major novelty in the latest version of the Growler?

I did look for clues in the read-me files, but alas.

Well it certainly shouldn't be especially since E/F are working, although I can't check now as my gfx card died on me so no 3D of any kind until next week for me...

OK, I think I found the problem - file EA-18G_Avionics.ini is missing.

I copied FA-18F_Avionics.ini, did the necessary edit to EA-18G.ini and no game crash.

Brain32, thank you for the attention, if you could post here the file EA-18G_Avionics.ini, I would appreciate it.

I am not sure if I am getting to see the full beauty of your work on the Growler pit using the F avionics.ini. :drinks:

Yeah that's a hit against me, the intent was to use previous Avionics.ini's due to the mods that people do to their own Avionics.ini.

Eric - The F-18E Bk2 and both the F blk 1 & 2 have an engine noise missing. The data.ini's call out for a "GEF414b" which isn't in the pack whereas the ones that work call for a "GEF1414" which is there.
