Is this all France can send? Its poor From the wikipedia article, right now France has (in total) 23 tigers, Australia 18, Germany 11 and Spain 5. Its a recent production which hasn't reached the quarter of the full orders. Plus they have to be shipped on a carrier, so it's limited to the carrier space you can't have thousands of them. Helicopters aren't going to travel from europe to north afrika by themselves. Remember that there is (at the moment) no any western base nor soldiers in Libya.We are supposed to provide an aerial help, not to make the war by ourselves. The 4 Apaches were already on Ocean for Op Cougar*, be interesting to see if they swap some of the other stuff on there for more Apaches. *Op Cougar was/is an Amphib deployment by the RN that was planned months ago and had nothing to do with Libya. Slightly off topic but we used to fly from the UK to Iraq and back all the time in Merlin HC3's, we just had to stop twice a day for fuel (oh and fit a 5th fuel tank/bladder inside) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

+Gepard 11,289 Posted June 10, 2011 Norway will retreat its 4 F-16 from the airstrikes against Libya by the end of July. Danmark is low on bombs. UK is crying how expensive the war against Libya is. MigBuster 2,884 Posted June 10, 2011 Ahh dont worry - always money for war it seems they will find some somewhere - and probably more as they are taking a UN sanctions trip against Syria now. We'll soon have to drop darts, breeze blocks, wrenches, bags of bolts, and Bastille-Day bangers! It wouldn't sound class at all if Gadaffi was wounded by a wrench on his foot, would it? It is not new to the Armée de l'Air. I've read that in 1991, in spite of months of preparation, they began Desert Storm with less than 60 AS30 Laser. In spite of 95% accuracy, they soon ran out of them, and had to modify their Jaguars in order for them to carry the Paveways they had begged from US units.
