UK_Widowmaker Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Ok, some kid gets eaten by a Polar Bear in Norway...and some other Goon in the party gets hailed as a hero, for shooting the Bear...after it ripped half his face off...so what? Everytime I log on to any News Channel...these idiots stories are on it!...I have as much sympathy for them, as I would someone getting eaten by a Shark!...you play stupid games where predatory animals live..you can expect to end up as it's s**t!...tough! Slartibartfast Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 (edited) did the bear wash the kid down with a Coke? I think thats a problem the bear was drinking Dr Pepper... On a more serious aside going out and about in scenery where you know that there are the largest carnivores on the planet roaming without adequate protection or staying in vehicles means your asking for trouble... and what really nisses me off is that its always the animals fault never the people getting attacked... +hgbn Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Polar bears can smell your sent 30 miles away. So even if you camp in a relative safe area you never know when a bear shows up. Quote

macelena Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 (edited) The way the norwegians act towards the bears is kind of weird, specially considering their way of acting towards whales. Once, our navy´s oceanographic polar ship, wich usually deploys 6 months a year in the Antartic, made a different cruise and sailed towards the North Pole. The Norwegians commanded them to break when making contact on any bear, and report on their location, status, including any sings of stress. They would appear in lunch time, jump into the sea, and crawl towards the ship, smelling the food being prepared. The Norwegians even protested, as the scientist parties where escorted by sailors armed with CETME C rifles (a heavy, old style assault rifle) for their protection. +Muesli Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 They want to shoot these animals all by themselves..... Darwin Award nomination for norwegians with this attitude! Quote

Strange, over here the news was quickly replaced by news of London being on fire... I guess that's bugging you now... heard that Cameron even broke off his holidays to summon the army into action... Seems London is, quite literally, on fire... Quote
