I dont understand GAF serials,but know they used 45,I liked the scheme so thought others may like it too.

Hu? The NVA never had any Su-9s, much less the Bundeswehr.

Also, the Su-9 would not have been given to a fighter-bomber wing specialized on surpressing enemy air defence.

And if so, regular Luftwaffe paintjob would have been applied. Only the test wings like WTD 61 used the original NVA paintjob.

The tail and wing numbers don't make any sense to me...

 

I am not depreciative of your art and skill, but I am trying to be constructive. I actually like what-ifs a lot.

Maybe I am just wrong, then I can learn something new - which I do very often on this board.

The Tornado is NOT lame.

 

It's not Lame but TBH the Aircraft itself not that great either, it's a good solid platform for launching a variety of advanced weapons from but, sadly, it's the amazing abilities of the weapons themselves that make the Tornado so good rather than the actual Tornado itself (which is a horrible A/C to work on and fly in). The front cockpit is still virtually original from the 70's, the airframe can't go above Mach 1.02 or pull more than 6G and there's still some flying which have 1960's wet film projected maps in the back instead of modern LCD displays! The constantly updated weapons avionics for the back seater combined with our newer weapons make it a world class system though!
