Slartibartfast Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 (edited) Now that looks damn good... now where's our king of the What if ??? Edited June 25, 2012 by Slartibartfast Quote
Spinners Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 I like the Desert Pink uppersurfaces hastily applied over the normal grey (well, that's how I interpret it). Quote
Derk Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Ha, ha, it's a "Tornado-ized" TSR 2 !!! Great stuff !!!!!!! Quote
+Julhelm Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 I like it a lot. I wonder what could be done to a Vigilante using the same ideas. Quote
Slartibartfast Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Why use the Vigi when we have a TSR-2 available here ? Quote
mdatelmi Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 As a modeler I can say that it's a great idea an very well executed! My respect! Quote
DoctorWho Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 I'm giving this one a shot. I've got the basic skin already done and now I'm going to make some decals. I can upload some pics later. Quote
DoctorWho Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 And by the way, could anyone tell me which squadron it is? I'm not so much into RAF stuff. Quote
+Julhelm Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Why use the Vigi when we have a TSR-2 available here ? Because it's an attractive plane and it would be cool to see a "modernized" Vigi. Quote
+Wrench Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 which squadron it is whichever one uses green & yellow check -look at the intake covers -- 257 maybe? Quote
DoctorWho Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 (edited) I've got it. It's No.31 sqn. Some reference: http://www.raf.mod.uk/rafmarham/rafcms/mediafiles/16C3710F_5056_A318_A8442C6A9786E5FE.jpg Edited June 25, 2012 by DoctorWho Quote
+Julhelm Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 You could try and match the wear on the model so it'll look better. Quote
DoctorWho Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 You could try and match the wear on the model so it'll look better. Could you be more specific? Anyway, I really appreciate any suggestions that help to improve my work. Quote

If you look at the photos of that model kit and compare them to your texture, the model has noticeably darker panel lines and more dirt that makes it pop much better than your texture, where that stuff is too subtle to be visible. DoctorWho Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 The lines are so subtle because I used the color to alpha option to get rid of the original color but i think that some additional layer will help. Quote
+Julhelm Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 I'd just repaint the panellines with a black brush and play around with opacity. Quote
