macelena 1,070 Posted January 5, 2014 (edited) What is sadder than him dying (i think he lived long and sure had a good life) is that we know that, unless shooting down an ICBM with a sling, we will never be this cool http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjblmFIa8j0 Edited January 5, 2014 by macelena

krfrge 742 Posted January 5, 2014 What is truly amazing is how the WWII generation didnt have to worry about all the risk measures that we are required to work thru today. I once knew an US Army Major in the 1980's who was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. He told me about flying initiations in the UH-1's of the time. Part of the initiation was flying under an old bridge in South Vietnam. For Mr. Overstreet to pull of what he did, would surely signal the end of his career if he did that today. A salute to Mr Overstreet and the others that did what they did to allow me to do what I do today.
