+Wrench Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 thanks! your's is looking pretty good too! (mine has the advantage of being 20-30 years earlier than yours!). What I don't know, is if the Causeway was road and rail in the 30s/40s, as it is today. I'd hate to have to add the rail ridges - but will if I need too. I just wish I'd had mue's tool when doing the WW2 Euro map & 'Norway' maps. would have made like a lot easier! Quote
saisran Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 According to the latest news i heard along with Clark AFB, miltary bases in Cagayan de Oro and Mindanao will be open for JDSF and USAF use. Based on existing facilities it'll probably be Lumbia Airport(Cagayan De Oro Airport) and the larger Laguindingan International Airport. Thought you might want to know. +Wrench Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 looking damn good To me, the pavement is a bit to dark on Laguindingan field. If it weren't for a "lane lines", it almost looks like an untextured LOD. I know it's supposed to be asphalt, but maybe lighten a few shade? 70% gray??, but not too light to look like concrete. That's just me though! what I find so funny, is I see buildings, and start naming the off in my head!! (af31, af6, af45, af46, citybuilding3, "schussel", the buildings from Major Lee's DBS ...) I think I been doing this too long.... what tileset are you using?? Quote
krfrge Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Wrench, I will call the asphalt crew in today. The buildings are pulled from Major Lee's DBS and recolored. Tileset if from SPF1 Vietnam. Quote
krfrge Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Wrench, I called the asphalt company and they just happened to be in the area.... 3 Quote
+Wrench Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 yes, that's MUCH better! Like the blacktop on the street outside my door, it fades in that hot tropical sun!! Quote
santiagoace57 Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 (edited) My suggestions for potential conflict timeframes would be as follows: 1986 WWIII Blue Side Factions: USA [uSAF, USN, USMC], Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia and Australia Red Side Factions: USSR, China, Vietnam and Malaysia USN assets would most likely consist of the following carrier groups: USS Ranger (CV-61), and the USS Midway (CV-41) or USS Enterprise (CV-65) plus a Surface Group with the USS Missouri (BB-63) as its flagship The Australians could bring in a surface group or two to help even up the odds against the hostile navies USSR naval assets would most likely include the Minsk or Novorossiysk carrier group and a small Surface Group escorting an amphibious group due for Singapore or the Philippines China would deploy a number of Surface groups including amphibious ones to not just gain control of the little islands, but also Taiwan 1995 Blue Side Factions: USA [uSAF, USN, USMC], Australia, Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore Red Side Factions: China, Vietnam, Malaysia USN assets would most likely be in the form of the USS Constellation (CV-64) or USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) groups China receives the JH-7 attack aircraft in its arsenal 2018 Blue and Red Side Factions remain the same as 1995 USN assets could deploy the John C. Stennis (CVN-74) and the Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) China's military might at this point would be backed by the Liaoning aircraft carrier, J-16's and the J-20 plus those artificial islands... If helicopters can be a viable option in what little ground combat there is, the following are the best candidates for my suggested timeframes: 1986 Blue Side: AH-64A, AH-1W, UH-1H, CH-53E Super Stallion, OH-58 Kiowa 1995 Blue Side: AH-64A, AH-1W, UH-1H, UH-60, OH-58 Kiowa 2018 Blue Side: AH-64D, AH-1W, AH-1Z, UH-60 1986 Red Side: Mi-24V and/or Mi-24P, Gazelle 1995 Red Side: Z-9, Gazelle 2018 Red Side: Z-9, WZ-10, Z-19, Gazelle Edited August 8, 2015 by santiagoace57 Quote

krfrge Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 All, Just to reassure everyone this project is still underway. I have loaded up Stary's GH3.5 and modified my custom tiles (Harbor, small village, base camps, airstrips, etc) to blend in with Stary's exceptional tiles.
