Anyone has pictures or profiles of MC-97C during the Korean War ?

Recommended Posts

I'm building a template for Veltro2k's KC-97G (and planning to release it once it's done) and modding it to use as a number of C-97 but I can't find any reference for the MC-97C during the Korean War, anyone can help ?

Only references state (no pics) that the MC was the designation for medevac flights out of Korea. Could be something in line with A-10/ OA-10, only difference being the assigned mission. Not having gone that far yet, see who had C-97s during 51-53, and who was based on the west coast or Hawaii. That is the likely marking to use, adding a Red Cross also.

Curious how extesive were you gonna get? I was going to do an ANG set up for the tankers, esp 65-75 during Creek Party, the ANG dets to Germany, but with my method of marking units like on the Galaxy and airliners

I'm partial to D on Nyghtfalls link, The HC-97G SAR Ship..

I belief the Dumbo ( If they still called them that in the 60s ) the divers jumped from In the movie Thunderball was one of these.

For the 1950s it appears it will be any of the MATS Skins.

the only mention I've seen of the MCs was a Joe Baughters, when looking up the serials. "such and such" was converted to MC-97G ELINT aircraft. I think I saw listings for 3 serials

Thanks guys, I should have enough to occupy me for a moment (better pictures, some panel changes to do too, yeah) and I'll do a "best guess" on some things. What was a side-project is getting a bit more ambitious, so much to do, so little time.
