  1. No there is no image limit like that. You may be hitting an image size restriction greater than the allowed Width X Height. Or the post size maximum meaning a single post can only be so big (only so many pictures in one post). Try including just one image and tell me if it errors and what that error says. As to imageshack there are no restrictions you can link images there but the same max post size will still be in place. Let me know.
  2. Typhoid your argument is wasted on me. You somehow have the belief that Net Neutrality means FCC regulated. That simply isn't true. Net Neutrality means that we don't want it regulated by the cable companies or the FCC. Your argument is moot, in fact you're more a proponent for my case than an opponent. Leave the internet alone, leave net neutrality in place, bottom line.
  3. IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT It's very clear that the current model works even at the rates we pay, which by the way are high in comparison to the rest of the world. Just take a look at Comcast's P&L statements ---------------> http://www.stock-analysis-on.net/NASDAQ/Company/Comcast-Corp/Financial-Statement/Income-Statement That's a net income of $6,816,000,000.00 USD. I'm not sure what their adjusted gross is but it's big enough to make them the second largest lobbyist in the USA. I might also mention that we the tax payers subsidized a lot of the build out through our taxes. They are using our money to charge us more. That's just backasswards. Talk about paying for what you only use. Wish that was the case with our taxes.
  4. I support Net Neutrality and the Freedom of the internet. I do not want cable companies or the federal government to regulate the internet. ALL traffic should be treated as equal. If you believe the same go to http://fcc.gov/comments NOW and voice your opinion. http://FCC.GOV/COMMENTS The proceeding number 14-28 Speak your mind about the issue for or against. Let's all do this now and if you're confused about what Net Neutrality is watch this.
  5. Typhoid you're mistaken. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Net_neutrality This is what is in place now that we are trying to protect. You stated you are in opposition of this which puts you on the side of regulation, throttling, discrimination of traffic etc. You said you were in opposition of POTUS not me now you're trying to convince me that I'm fighting for what you stand for? Wow talk circular arguments. I stand for net neutrality in all senses of the meaning as described above in the wikipedia write up. If you stand on the opposite side, good luck or retract what you said and lets agree this is what we both want. Holy crikee
  6. Typhoid all due respect but no, just no. Can you imagine our equipment on a satellite connection? You're just looking at this from the wrong perspective. Where do you think all these internet sites you visit connect their equipment? This isn't just about consumers it's about every aspect of the internet business from the consumer to the provider. It takes both to work and that's not mentioning the backbone carriers and every little end point that they connect to. Traffic can't be regulated, it's worked all these years as is and somehow you can justify changing it with judicial proceedings. Net Neutrality needs to stay in place. That's the reality. Whatever windmill you're tilting at has no point in this discussion.
  7. Net Neutrality just needs to remain as a protection for consumers and businesses, if it were to be reversed (which is what these provider giants want) that would be a huge blow to all of us. The FCC as a regulatory commission will have the final say but as the name implies Federal Communication Commission the guidance will most likely come from the federal side and not the public sector or private sector.
  8. I don't even know what I just read right there. As for the Netflix thing. Comcast forced them into an agreement by throttling their customers use of their streaming. Ultimately the agreement came in the way of an agreement for an undisclosed amount to use Comcast exclusively for Netflix' upstream. If that wasn't enough Xfinity which is Comcast owns Netflix now. So is something as basic at net neutrality important, you bet. If you don't think so just sit back and not get involved believing the giants like Comcast are in business to serve your needs and provide cost effective access to their programming which by the way includes the internet because they use the FCC governed channels of broadcast to stream the internet to your home or business, same with all other providers. If you remember the passing of the analog system (antennas on your roof) the move to digital was designed to give companies like this greater ability to split the existing channels for uses such as internet. But I'm not here to preach a position just to make you aware. How you decide to give your input on these ideas is up to you. Short of that if you're in a agreement, thank you. If not, it's your right to have your own educated opinion. No hard feelings. The discussion has been opened for all and that's the important part. Good luck out there. :)
  9. Well if you want them to make money we as consumers need choices to prevent a monopoly and anti trust issue. Right now in the US in most places like mine I have one choice for internet service and that's through the cable company. Where's the legality behind that?
  10. The bottom line here isn't the explanation itself but the fact that these huge companies are investing so heavily in changing the way information can be delivered for one reason only, to make more money. Where is that money going to come from?
  11. I understand the analogy between the car and RV but the conclusion is wrong. Just because the RV uses or holds more fuel than the little car does doesn't mean that when you pull into a gas station you get an RV sized hose so you can fill the 100 gallon tank as fast as the 15 gallon tank. The hose and fuel distribution is all the same speed. That's net neutrality. Now if you think that just because you are filling an RV that your fuel should cost more (same fuel, same delivery rate) just because you own an RV then you should vote to end net neutrality.
  12. A nice win in deed. I'm so glad we were able to make a difference. It's an important topic that giants like Comcast think they're just going to slip by us while no one is looking. Let's hope the progress continues. Thanks for being involved.
  13. Oh the conspiracy theories will be rampant about all this. Half of them I might believe. Definitely a loss though condolences where they are due.
  14. Our mobile platform sucks. I can't even paint a pretty picture of sunbathing girls on the white sands of Hawaii about it. The new release of our board software is in private beta now. I imagine at least a few months will be needed for the public release and point release upgrades until I'll feel comfortable upgrading. At that point all the old nonsense will be gone and we'll have a true mobile and pad platform. In all seriousness it's been a sore point in my side for a long while. I'll keep everyone updated as the time draws near. E As the work around in the lower left hand corner of the pages you can select the skin you want to use even on mobile or pad devices. That will at least get you full operation of things even though it's a heavy bandwidth hog, wifi is no big deal tho.
  15. I would suspect that only US Citizens are allowed to petition but if we squash it here the world will follow. Thanks for checking.
  16. Hi everyone, Maybe you've seen our petition to keep the internet fair for all users. If you haven't you should know there are couple huge decisions being decided in the coming days that will affect all internet users in the United States. Comcast the largest internet provider in the US currently is trying buy Time Warner. This would make them the largest provider of internet services and allow them to affect all of us in terms of how we use and pay for internet service. This is huge. I can't stress enough how important it is that we all know what's happening and lend our voice to stopping what could be the end of internet as we know it. Don't think for a minute this won't affect you somehow or someway. If you use Netflix, have a smart phone, have home internet service, business internet service, provide websites like ours or even something as simple as an internet enabled vehicle you will be affected. Please take the time, 5 minutes tops, to join my and thousands of voices out there who are in the daily business of providing free access to all. Net Neutrality is real and if you bury your head in the sand today you'll be paying for your indecision later if it is not upheld. Read the following and visit https://www.battleforthenet.com/ and then scroll down until you see their "Battle for the Net" campaign and click there to sign their petition. I welcome you to read all about it if you want but the bottom line is if you're already paying too much we need your signature to stop this craziness. This is an urgent reply I received today from Fight For The Future dot ORG. Thanks for your time.
  17. Reporting tools are a necessary evil especially in cases like this. Bottom line we want to make sure we do things right for everyone.
  18. Well the download limit is 6 per day not three for new members. There's warnings all over the place and posts about download accelerators aka download managers. Turn them off or disable them for our site because it's going to chew up your download limit from us. As an example if you download one file and your download manager opens 6 connections to us (to speed up the transfer) that's it you're done for the day. I see that a lot when people have duplicate downloads, like you do. If you really are downloading something 4 times I'd ask why, but that's as much help as I can be there. Your download logs don't show any signs of our system not working or that we aren't giving you the files. Your account is fine with no restrictions. Keep in mind that our system clocks things on a per use basis it doesn't reset at any magical time. If you download 3 files at 6am on Monday and 3 files at 10am on Monday and come back Tuesday at 8am you'll only have 3 downloads available to you. If you came back after 10am you'd have all 6 available. So they roll off your count 24 hours after you start the download. Hope that helps. 19. Unfortunately I'd say that's not the best of news. Cable modems attenuate up and down depending on signal strength and noise. If a cable modem is resetting all the time it means that the signal quality has reached a preset maximum level of being too low or too high in either of those values. The modem probably didn't need to be replaced and you should take it back if you can because that's an ISP issue they are responsible for the signal to your modem, the modem only tunes it finely for optimal levels. So that would be my first call is to get that business resolved asap and don't let them give you the run around have someone actually come and put a meter on your cable where the modem plugs into and have them show it to you. They will and should give you the acceptable levels and noise for whatever channel they are running data on. These huge cable companies got the nation by the bullocks, no love loss from me. Hope you get it sorted. E
  20. Your account type is unlimited. There are no restrictions for your downloads. The Mirror speeds will always be slow it's just an offsite server that stores our backups. Make sure you're downloading from our main files repository by using the "Download from Server" button. I just tested the speeds to where I am and I'm downloading at about 900Mbits per second so there's no way you should be getting 260K. Please check that you're using the main server and let me know. Otherwise there's net congestion or possibly congestion on your ISP side. Everything on our end looks great for speed and latency to the test locations I used. Sorry you're having an issue but it's not normal. E
  21. I don't see the OP having any merit to stay. The information is available to those that need it or want it. Posting it here serves no purpose but it could be misinterpreted fairly easily. For that reason I'm locking the discussion so it can die a quiet death in the hallowed graves beneath Dave's desk.
  22. Had a small point upgrade to do today to support IE users and various features on our site. This incurred a few minutes of downtime. Nothing big to worry about but in case anyone is curious. Downtime was limited to less than 5 minutes. E
