F-14 ADCOM Prototype test hop from Edwards AFB to Nellis Range...

The F-14A ADCOM test birds went out to the range today for a weapons evaluation flight.... With results like this, ADCOM will have a new Interceptor in its fleet very soon!

@daddyairplanes I had forgotten about Gen Chappie flying in one in 1975, so I might push it back a bit based on this. I did a quick one of the ADCOM Demo bird, based on a mock up which I believe was done in 1972. Here's the mock-up: For the Operational jets I removed the U.S. Air Force from the intakes and put the star and bars there like the Eagles.

@daddyairplanes I have done a few more.....I chose Fighter Interceptor Squadrons which were still active when the ADCOM Tomcats would've came into service around 1975. Here's what I have so far: 2nd and 95th Fighter Interceptor Training Squadrons both at Tyndall AFB, FL starting in 1975 as they needed to train the new Pilots and the GIBs. For Operational Fighter Interceptor Squadrons, I have the 5th Minot AFB (1976), 48th Langley AFB (1976), 49th at Griffiss AFB (1976), 84th at Castle AFB (1976), and the 318th at McChord AFB (1976). As you mentioned, I need to rework the 49th FIS tail. Also thinking about moving the U.S. Air Force to the engine intake area and doing a couple of other things.

What if the U.S. Air Force had decided to purchase F-14's? These Air Defense Command F-14's look right at home in the Bering Straights.... F-14A 84th FIS Castle AFB, CA (1976) 2nd FITS, Tyndall AFB, FL (1975) 11th FIS (1975) 49th FIS Griffiss AFB, NY (1975) What could've been!

Well, after @daddyairplanes pointed out there was a Block 15 Viper available, I realized he was correct! So I just made more work for myself by using the Thirdwire F-16A model....ah well, practice makes perfect! So I have since started moving everything over to the Team Viper F-16's and I think this mistake of mine might have been for the better. F-16A Block 10 of the 35th and 80th TFS. F-16A Block 15 of the 35th and 80th TFS. F-16B Block 15 of the 35th and 80th TFS. These are no where near done, still tweaking the textures and decals however progress, even though sometimes backwards is being made!

I plan on it when I get everything done. Still tweaking and researching.

Tweaked the wolf's head on the Block 15 A models, ignore the tail number in this shot as it's not the correct # for a Block 15.

Here's the most recent changes on the Block 10 35th and 80th TFS skins. I've added the old school wolf head, which I like. I'm sill working on verifying tail numbers for both the Block 10 and 15's of the 8th TFW, and tweaking the wolf head on the Block 15's.

Here's some Block 10's of the 35th TFS, 8th TFW on the way to provide some CAS.

Got it figured out, somehow the aircraft folder I had made got corrupted. It's fixed now, still tweaking the skins a bit.

These are skins I'm working on currently of the 8th TFW for the F-16A/B Block 15 using the stock F-16. I must be missing a file or something because I still can't get the pylon figured out. It's there with the fuel tanks but missing when I carry bombs on the station.

Checking out some of my work and noticed I'm apparently missing some files.....anyone know what I'm missing?

Talk about, "ask and you shall receive"! I was mainly asking about airbases though more bases all together is a win. Definitely looking forward to more target areas, would love more missions on this using this terrain. Great work, thanks for it.

Thanks, yep that's one of the markings I was needing to tweak still. I'll take a look at the folder you mentioned. I think after the 8th, I will look into the 35th....slowly start covering PACAF units.

Working on F-16A/B Block 15's of the 35th and 80th Tactical Fighter Squadrons, 8th Tactical Fighter Wing Kunsan AB, Republic of Korea during 1986. I'm still working on the tail numbers and tweaking the markings. During the 1985/1986 time frame, the 8th TFW changed the wolf head design and location. It was during this time it started to be moved from the fuselage near the canopy to the vertical stab; where it's still located today.
