WOFF: Screenshots and Videos

Aris cloud Mod looks spectacular but I realised, from using it and it's also clearly demonstrated on your screens Adger, that I can easily pick out repeating patterns of cloud shapes... Something that couldn't do with default WOFF clouds (at least so easily). -

Too artificial, IMHO... -
What mods do you have planned?

I want to remake the Albatros D.III skins. IMHO, they are not in the high standard the D.V-s are, mostly based on outdated data. I have done some retouching in small details to the excellent D.V-s as well, but for the D.III-s I'm afraid I have to work from scratch... Here is what I have done so far on the default D.V skin (by Arto) (after his given permission) 1. Added missing bolts to the fuselage below cockpit. 2. Removed from the starbord side the rigging instructions sheet. (could be on either side, most commonly port, but not in both) 3. Changed the nose Idflieg and factory placards with proper Johannisthal ones (Arto was using OAW type) on the nose and added them on the wings as well. 4. Added bases to the strut braces. 5. Removed the wing root rigging loop base to it's proper position. (now corresponds to the actuall rigging of the 3d model as well) 6. Removed the default "Nicht auftreten!" inscrtiption and replaced in proper position. 7. Added the wing pulley inspection hatch on the upper wing and missing sets of bolts in the surrounding area. Also changed colour to the portrayed Teves & Braun radiator (should be left bare metal instead of painted in primer colour). Few things still left to do, for example the upper wing cross on the right side is a bit misplaced (should be shifted a bit to the wingtip)... but it's kind of tricky to do now and no one will notice the difference. It would be great if we had basic layered templates to start from like in RoF. -

Experimenting with SweetFX, fiddling around with Para-Bellum's settings (a little les bloom, a bit of bleach). With SweetFX, everything look like they have more "volume", don't you think? Merry Christmas! -
What's your first WOFF campaign(s) going to be?

I want to fly my favorite Albatros D.V and summer 1917 is the right time. Actually, I have started several Careers ( Jasta 16b, Jasta 32b, Jasta 6) but WOFF 's proven damn hard to master! (It's not only the deadly AI, you have to count the random mechanical failures as well) I keep getting killed-captured after a few days in service... -
Surprise at landing - what a debut flight
elephant replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I was wondering where have you been? Is it surprise that I had the very same first steps in WOFF? Only difference I wanted to fly the new D.V and chosen a Summer of 1917 starting date. I was posted to Jasta 16b led by Otto Kissenberth. My first ever confirmed kill in WOFF, was a claim with no witnesses from my squad mates. I got seperated during a dogfight, opened the TAC trying to find them back and saw an order under it: "Descent and run to the nearest friendly airfield - (name I don't recall)" So I headed there. When arrived I saw AAA fire from the airfield ground defence. It was a lone N.23 which I duly downed. In the claim form, I wrote the incident and name of the airfield (not being sure even about the spelling) I didn't believe that the claim would be ever confirmed but it did! I was awarded a Goblet for it too. Sadly a couple of days later I got killed when my engine failed on take off... So sad but on the other hand so realistic! -
Question for our historians...

The wanted to eliminate every possibility for the eye (from distance) to confuse it with a cockade. -

It's in my to do list, as soon as I find some time... I asked the same question in SimHQ: The terrain looks fantastic! I wonder, souldn't the weat fields in spring be kind of light greenish? Answer by Polovski: Some of the finest flight sim scenery out there. One day we'll have the mouse in your tent, steam from you tea, and someone will say mmm "would cheap frontline WW1 tea really produce that much steam?"

I had no problems whatsoever, download or installation wise... My only problem is that it's 3.00 in the morning...

Anyone knows when the Skins Addon will be available?
-
If you add the 24,99 $ for the skin pack, seems quite expensive...but worthwhile. The D/L site says who have authorisation for 10 downloads. PS: There is also a small update (WOFF v 1.1) available at the Downoads page of the WOFF site:

Hi Ian, I can't help you about the ID of the creator of this pilot, but back in the days I had made a bunch of more detailed Israeli pilot skins... After a while it became a joint project with X-Ray, alas never to be completed and released. I think I have kept the templates somewhere. Are you interested? http://combatace.com/topic/55090-israeli-daf-pilots-by-elephant-wip-update/

Spitfire vs Messerschmidt - The Cockpits

I dont think that the size of the cockpit actually changed guys...(the size of men inside varies) It's just an impression because of the more rounded and un-caged canopy. -
