Tell you what, I have working Task Forces in TSF. I will add carriers and see what I can do. I am not sure actually. Task Forces do work perfectly for me; they are just not going where they are supposed to but I expect TK to fix that. Here we go. First of all, you was right. CarrierStations does not need to be True. Settings pretty much copied from SF2: NA and put into an existing Task Force: Aside from the Escorts not forming up (No clue why either), it works like a charm.
-
That is with another Terrain Engine. Just answer if you tried it as it is now with Carrier Stations On. If you have not, try it. No. The Airplanes will take off regardless where the Carriers are. The objective point is where the Carriers are heading. Hence, you need to fill out all three without a //. Also, when a Carrier unit have reached its objective; it usually disappears or returns to base. Also, try with RunCampaignBeforePlayerStart=FALSE as the Task Forces on my terrains disappear after two days; and never appears if this is set to TRUE.
-
Set your Carrier Stations to True. Just see if that is what does it. //StartPosition=250000.0,880000.0 ObjectivePosition=400000.0,680000.0 HomePortPosition=200000.0,890000.0 Start position is not supposed to be behind // That is what I can find from a first look. Apologies, but have no time to go into great detail atm.

Something with NavalMap on Third Party maps is still very much messed up. Teleporting task forces, strange objectives etc etc are just the start of it. I had hoped April patch would have fixed it, but it seems like it did not. However; Stupid question. Is NavalMap set to True in the Terrain .ini? And does the map have a Water map updated to NA Standards? You should have no problem making them appearing, and this looks very much like a lack of areas for task forces to operate in.

It will just be a repeat of the Thirty Years Wars with PMCs chancing sides all the time. They follow the money. That makes them unreliable.
-
I see your vision is somewhat inspired by the game in your signature ;-) No, I do not belive PMCs will be the future of military conflicts. Mostly because they are simply too unreliable. In my opinion, there is no difference between PMC and Mercenaries (PMCs themselves say there is, but thats another story). You do not want Soldiers who just works for money. They need more then that to be loyal.

Swedish Air Force Historical Flight (Who amusingly enough only get fuel and hangar space by the Air Force and nothing else) just got licence for a civilian Viggen. Expect it at air shows in and around Sweden !

It is far from the horrible mess that was Expansion Pack 2; but I also feel the Community hypes itself to new heights, despite TK trying to subdue the feelings. Hope you have fun whatever you decide to do. -
SF-2NA April 2012 patch
JonathanRL replied to paulopanz's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I have yet to take a deeper look at the updated files, but it seems like off the bat; the issues I had with teleporting task forces and anti-ship missions (the vanilla ones) being unavalible in SF2: NA based campaigns is not fixed. EDIT: New Command: MinFleetSpeed=10.289 I wonder if that works with "Max" as well. -

Thats just what we told the people we knew was spying for the Soviet Union... Honestly; dont expect a fix. But I will see if one can be snuck in alongside the other very, very minor overlooks I should have noticed. And because thread demands it: I am still amazed over how good that bloody Gripen looks! -
Revan: Check Page 1 of this thread. I have read the books; I actually own them. First one is pretty good; second is getting farfetched and the third is trying to make Sweden win in a most wierd manner. Had issues with a part of the book where they assault Bromma Flygplats. The volenteers and the Home Guard literally rally on the street where I live. Was a little too close to home ^^ Oh, and in case anybody missed it, we actually released Midvintermörker. It is a far cry from what we originally planned and is based off a Swedish book about a Russian Invasion of Gotland. That book actually is good thought.

Does the Campaign one highlist the area where the campaign is taking place as well?
