  1. Also, what terrain are you flying? What does the Terrain_nations.ini say so far as permitted nations is concerned? You will have to set nazi germany as an enemy nation and usaf, raf etc as friendly nations. Cheers Mate, Baltika
  2. Check it out, one of Stary's many environmental mods:- http://combatace.com/files/file/7178-heavy-snowfall-weather/
  3. Hi everyone, glad you like it Wrench, thanks for the suggestions, good stuff as always If you can send me over your runways (or point to where I can d/l them) I'll add them in. Sorry for not releasing this sooner I have reviewed my terrain release strategy, so flyable betas will be released once they are advanced enough, with targetisation upgardes to follow periodically. Anybody know how to make the map required to get the sea/ground unit thing running in the SF2 mission editor? Cheers everyone, Baltika

Other things have taken priority at various times, but I always came back to this. I confess it has been sitting on my hard drive for some time. I have reviewed various WIPs and decided that, given the development lead in time for terrain projects is so long, it is better to release such projects as they reach advanced beta stage. Targetisation is rather "cut & paste" for now. I will update the targets.ini as and when time permits. Meantime, all tiling work is finished, all runways plotted and flattened, and all target areas set. All mission types are activated for Red and Blue flyable forces. Comments, feedback, bug reports and Single Malt Whisky to Baltika ;-) Real life purists may wish to note that there are various remnants of the Third Age crumbling in the mountains - although some of them still have bite, so fly carefully! 5. With apologies to Wrench and Tonix It's just bl**dy typical, isn't it? You wait ages for a New Zealand terrain and then two come along at once Now available in the SF2 downloads section:- http://combatace.com/files/file/11904-baltikas-full-scale-new-zealand-terrain-for-sf2/ Well, the more the merrier . . . 7. Hi Spinners, Do you take requests Can we have a stock SF2 Meteor masquerading as the Me-262? Please
  8. Hi there, Could Wrench, cocas, ShrikeHawk and Pfunk check PMs please? Cheers, baltika
  9. If you want to, that would be excellent The 3d models and FMs are the basic requirements - everything else depends on those. As you will know, I have built a few SFP1/WoX WW2 campaigns - if the planeset is there, the campaigns will follow. So, if you can help with adding to the available SF2 level planeset, that would be great. It is really a question of what 3d guys like you want to build - the rest of us just follow. Whatever you want to build, we will use Cheers mate, Baltika
  10. Even better, if stock terrain can be used, that saves a ton of work. I'll start researching OOBs for campaign. Cheers all
  11. Rgr that, Pfunk. Kevin is "The Man" for WW2 stuff round here. OK, here's a suggestion, based on available SF2 assets: Jane's WW2 Fighters for SF2. We have the stock Mustang and Stock spit, with some great Mk 9 skins by ndicki. We have ndicki's 109G10 mod of MontyCZ's Avia 199. It shouldn't be too difficult for Wrench & I to knock up a simple Ardennes terrain between us. Spinners can do us a Luftwaffe skin for the stock Meteor as an Me-262 stand-in. What we are missing are some low-poly SF2 German medium bombers (Ju-88, He-111, Do17) to fill the sky with frame-rate friendly targets. Fancy it, Veltro? They don't need to be detailed, low-poly is better - just ask the CoD guys how their new BoB game is going ;-) And perhaps some friendly FM guy out there could take a look at wolf's P-38, P-47 and FW-190? Battle of the Bulge, here we come
  12. I think it introduces an element of random chance into the determination of whether an air unit moves towards or further away from the frontline as the frontline itself moves with success/failure in the groundwar. As I understand it, the function is also dependant on the morale level of the individual air unit. BaseMoveChance has a default value which you can alter by setting the flag. If you set BaseMoveChance=0, the particular air unit will only move base if its airfield is overrun by enemy groundforces. Hope that helps.
  13. For WW2 SF2, we need a good set of SF2 level FMs for prop birds. Obviously we have a stock Spit and Mustang now, and there is a 109G mod available, but I think that's about it. Give me an SF2 Spit, Hurri, 109, Stuka and a couple of German medium bombers and I'm all over BoB for SF2
  14. Nice B-17, cheers Veltro Shrike, on the subject of SF2 prop campaigns, give me a decent SF2 level prop planeset and I'm all over it As has been said elsewhere, it's the SF2 models and FMs in particular that are the issue. But now we have a stock Spit & Mustang, and I'm sure I've seen a 109G mod for SF2 around here, we are getting close. With Veltro's B-17 and a decent SF2 Luftwaffe bomber, we almost have enough to make it doable/worthwhile. Fingers crossed. . .
  15. Hi everyone, Thanks for taking time to download and comment on this. Nice to hear from you guys Derk, I got your PMs with suggestions, please keep them coming, good to hear from someone who has first hand knowledge of visiting the region, particularly the northern latitudes. I can easily re-tile to remove trees from the extreme Northern islands, and 100km or so south, it might just take a little time Like I said in the readme, this terrain will be updated as and when time permits, particularly with target.ini upgrades, which is a slow process. I decided to release it as a beta as it is in a well advanced state, fully flyable, with all tiling/runway flattening work completed, and has been sitting on my hard drive in that state for quite some time while I've been working on other projects. There are a couple of other terrain wips I have trailed here which are in a similar state, so if people think this is a sensible release strategy some of those may also see the light of day before too long. Comments welcome. Cheers all, Baltika

  19. Well, this venerable old lady is starting to show her age, but for those of you, like me, who still fire her up for a quick blast now and then, you may wish to head over to http://www.ww2fighters.org/ and check out the various excellent skins, mods, theatres etc hosted there. The admins have announced the site will be closing at the end of 2011 due to a decline in interest, which is the end of an era, so check it out while you still can. Last chance to see . . .
  20. Hi KJakker, Glad you like my little Iceland terrain, thanks Thanks also for pointing out those errors. I have a targetisation upgrade in the works, and I will fix the AAA position for that site. Wrench, thanks for posting the fix for the weird shadows. I will include that in the upcoming update also. Slàinte! Baltika
  21. Start here:- http://combatace.com/forum/193-creatingmodding-campaigns/ Bunyap's guide covers all the essentials. Best thing to do is look at stock campaigns, see how it all fits together. Search SFP1 Campaign and mission building forum with any speicifc questions, various campaign modders including myself have written a ton of stuff in there over the years. Cheers, baltika
  22. Hi there, All tiles with water effects are in .TGA format. the layer mask on the TGA allows sea effects to show up on those parts of the tile which are covered by water. Here is Wrench's invaluable guide on how to turn your terrain .bmp file into a TGA file which will be read by the sim:- http://combatace.com/topic/50042-simplified-sealand-transition-tile-creation/ Here's my equally invaluable guide on how to do it if you are using gimp to edit your .bmp files:- http://combatace.com/topic/58802-how-to-create-alpha-channel-for-coastal-tile-in-gimp/ Hope that helps. Cheers, Baltika. PS To achieve what you want to, I think you will have to convert the sea & sea/land transition TGA tiles into BMP format, make the changes to the bmp, then re-convert back to TGA format, using the guides above. Bon chance, mon brave!
  23. Or, until the victory/defeat conditions are met, i.e. your ground forces capture the enemy base node, or the enemy ground forces capture your base node. Those are also all defined in the campaign_DATA.INI file. Your success rate in completing missions has a direct effect on the success rate of your ground forces. Some campaigns do not have a ground war, e.g the stock Vietnam campaigns, then, as Stick says you have to complete (survive!) your tour of duty. So, it all depends on the particular campaign, and how well you do in the air.
