Is this the new IED body armor?
  2. Man, that sucks. His movies were the best of the 80's for a teenager. And thanks to Pretty in Pink, the reason I've always wanted a Porsche 944.
  3. Yep. I had to look twice. Thought the TSR.2 had been released. Any more stand in skins for the Vigi? Despite being a Yank, I am fond of the "Eagle" and would have liked seeing it evolve. Some of the What-if pics of it are oustanding.
  4. More like different requirements. The Marines have placed all of their future aviation plans in the F-35. They said no thanks to the Super Hornet. They want a STOVL jet to replace the Harrier. Now where I think there is excess, is in the A and C. Why can't the Air Force use the C model? They don't have the weight limitations. And can use a gunpod like the Navy will. It worked for the Phantom. At first, everyone flew the B. The whole concept of the JSF was a common airframe. As I see it, this program is anything but that. Each variant is it's own aircraft. They only have the F-35 name in common.
  5. Wow. And yet they kept open that lame "It's a small world" ride. We were there several times since 1996 and always wondered if it would reopen. When we came back in 2004 and saw the wall, we knew it was closed for good. Thanks for the link.
  6. I think this says it all.
  7. Wasn't aware of that one. Is it the same as the F-15 where it only reads 99 miles and below?
  8. This is true. By going generic on some decals, you can and will cut down on your install size by re-using them by multiple skins. But this only works for common decals like insignia or some tail markings and numbers. When you start doing specific serial numbers for unit aircraft, you are back to doing multiple folders within the DECAL main directory. Speaking of decals/numbers, etc... Any notice that once again nearly all of the SF2V USN aircraft are missing their BuNos for the tail? Same problem that the F-4M and Hunters have in SF2E.
  9. Where? I'm still running a 512Mb card from two years ago. I'd like to give myself a welcome home present in a couple of weeks.
  10. The redundant D folder inside the skin folder can be deleted. The game only looks for decals when placed inside the Decals/XXX/XXX directory.
  11. I'm one of the people who have to see it, versus read it. Nice visual presentation. I've noticed on my low-end laptop, I can run SF2V on medium-high settings at the highest res and I get about 15FPS. Smooth enough for game play, until Stary's effects kick in when an AI flight lets go of a stick of Mk.82s. I've got Green Hell 2 trees added as well. Now with SF2E, I've got to turn it way down. I've got the forest/trees add-on. Medium settings with med. res and I still get more stuttering. Each game runs things a bit differently with each release.
  12. I'm tweaking the SA-8 based on some new data I recently read. I've kept it as a Mobile_SAM, but it won't show up. When changed to Mobile_AAA, it shows up, tracks me, but won't fire. BTW, I've copied it all over to SF2 from SF2E. Could it be it's only coded for SF2E? -S
  13. Finally, closure.
  14. I look forward to building a custom install so that I can take advantage of the fine work that you've put into these enhancements. Thank you. -S
  15. For the same reason you currently are still using it, I'll hang onto the disks. For the multi-play. A stock WoX is still good for that.

Ver. 1.1 Adjusted the nose gear strut to get rid of the bouncing nose gear and stance. And fixed the Engine2 ID to make the gauges display the correct data.

  18. Uninstalled WoE from my laptop last night. Was the last of the legacy TW sims installed. Freed up 7Gigs of space also.
  19. Id love to own one of those. VFR, stick and rudder flying is the only way to go.
  20. You're a pilot?
  21. I liked the way the F-32 would have looked after the redesign. It would be doubtful though that Boeing would have delivered their's on time and on budget, either. -S
  22. Same for the A-4. I seem to jam the 20mms after just a few quick bursts, so I try to keep the jet level when firing as a precaution. I'll note my speed next time.
  23. FC, Sword just announced a 1/48 and 1/72 T-38C for this year. http://www.hyperscale.com/2009/reviews/kit...previewbg_1.htm -S
  24. Reduce main rotor diameter to 8.0 and they will spin. Should be the Engine3 in the data.ini
