  2. Anyone tried making an invisible level bomber with an ICBM atached to is as a free fall bomb? With hit box about the missile's size. Sure it will be too late when the "missile" is dropped but before that...

  4. That's what I did to the tanker. I just don't know when to find something like hit/penetration ratio for various guns agains different types of armour.
  5. Just wondering if I'm the only one who finds destroying stock ground targets way too easy. I mean tanks cracking with one rocket hit, ships sinking after a short 20-mm burst... Cargo ship getting knocked out by a Sidewinder. Are there any mods strengthening ground objects? Or do I have to do it myself ? Fiddled with WoI Tanker a bit. Doubled both stucture points and all armour. The resulting beast could endure beating from a single A-4E from both 2 20mm cannon and 2 vulcan gun pods. Spent all ammo so I had to finish it off with rockets. In another test the ship would hold together after several hits with 250lb bombs - only 6 of them put the tanker to rest. Clusters still work like a charm. And I think something like 1000lb could work too... Unfortunately this doesn't affect ships in ports spawned like parked planes. The blow up after a single rocket and just remain there without sinking. So I'm thinking about boosting armour figures for all ground units. But I'd like to know what figures to aim for - some data mostly on cannon efficiency would be very useful. :yes:

  7. AIM7E можно пускать но пользоваться ей сложно. Хотя она лучше, чем Matra R.530 из WoI, которая цели в принципе игнорирует. Процедура пуска этого куска металлолома. Выбрать AIM7E. Врубить радар в поисковый режим, выставить дальность. Найти метки самолетов. Нажатиями на Home выбрать интересующую. Нажать Insert. Радар начинает вести цель - напоминаю, что на экране по вертикали не высота, а дистанция. Смотрим на экран. Ctrl+R захватывает цель на радаре в падлок независимо от дальности - можно считерить и так тип подсмотреть, чтобы по своим не стрелять. Если дальность сканирования большая, то на вертикали, где находится цель, появятся две метки дистанции. Для пуска нужно, чтобы цель была между ними. На приборной доске загорится знак In Range (иначе экрана радара перечеркнут). На радаре в центре еще есть круг, и где-то рядом бегает точка - направление на цель. Удерживая точку в круге жмем на пуск. Можно сразу пару отстрелить, если не жалко. Ведем ракету, не трогая радар и удерживая точку в круге, до попадания или промаха. Использовать AIM7E в режиме радара "для воздушного боя" (сканирование полоски в центре) в принципе экстрим, потому что у нее минимальная дальность пуска нецензурно большая. У AIM7E-2 (aka Dogfight Sparrow) с этим уже полегче.
  8. GTA's violence is pretty kind and gentle compared to Liberal Crime Squad but that game has literally no graphics (text-only). Fun fact: GTA 1 (top-down view, 2d) and GTA 2 (top-down view, 3D) have been released as freeware. GTA doesn't like win XP very much though.
  9. Rule of thumb in latest TW engine version - turn shadows off first. With the latest patch you can switch shadow settings to medium which will render shadows for planes close to camera and ignore everyone else. If you keep calling him "poopy" he might dump it

  12. So you thinks it's way overpriced too? I think they wasted so much time and effort mostly because they wanted to build an accurate replica of FW cockpit so much that they made it out of metal.

  14. I can pull all sort of maneuvers in the sim but in RL sharp g decrease makes me feel weird. Even airliner sinking a bit on takeoff and a car starting downhill.
  15. Loading photos of scratched dirty planes are such a contrast with in-game smooth textures ...where's the nitpicking smiley... I've put this into fairly unmodded WoE - MiG-27M afterburner effect is not showing up. AB is on, the sound is on, but there's no visual. On plain MiG-27 effects are fine but I see the burner in rear mirrors - I think plane's body is set to be invisible from pit... Still a very pleasant thing to fly if only Phantoms weren't engaging with Sparrows at such long ranges.

  18. I remember torque is a killer there. After several minutes of keeping Dr.I going straing and level my arm could fall off.
  19. Reflection tga error made the canopy invisible from inside - not outside.
  20. The problem is that TW engine already imitates sun glare to some extent by turning objects black. Might look strange with HDR on. BTW, this dll is controlled not only by Shift+F12 but by Shif+other nearby F keys. Allows turning different features on and off.
  21. Yes.. a bit... Got 5 IR missiles from 3 different MiGs fired at the same moment at the rear of my Kfir yesterday.
