  1. In case you need it, I think, I'll be able to provide direct download mirror. BTW, how large is the game so far?
  2. Then how come that a free fan-made patch for Enemy Engaged 1 has full TIR support? It wasn't a feature of original game and was introduced only by fans when game source was released open.
  3. Yup, only Comanche-Hokum in EE2. Modded EE1 also lets you fly Apache and Havoc + all others but they are not all detailed. You'll fly them with either Apache or Havoc cockpit, only few of them have realistic sensors (not popular transport choppers might have Apache's radar) and they mostly use generic flight model. Still, Mi24 got its own HUD and some other neat details and some US choppers have been adjusted too.
  4. Any progress lately? Or new screenshots?
  5. Hey, where's a fly-through screenie?
  6. And do observation balloons actually blow up?
  7. Here? http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=4843
  8. But it's gonna be payware.
  9. Yup.. THAT's no IL2
  10. IL2 forest means a forest made out of three or four horizontal planes. Each plane has many green blobs (i.e. leaves, branches) and transparent space between the blobs. So when the planes are placed one over another with a little space between it does look great from above. Unfortunately, it looks appalling close up and whey you fly below tree-top level. They use the same kind of vegetation in Targetware -> Richthofen Skies. At least I saw something very like it there. But I still vote for separate trees... however simple, as long as they don't look all alike and face the same direction they look nice.
  11. Hmm... won't it be safer to give the teddy an M249 and let operators play Quake? Or arm them (NOT the operators) for suicide runs...
  12. With the amount of things messed up in there the patch would have to come on DVD.
  13. If you feel like filling an official bug list, look here. http://www.simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?...d=99&page=1 Though unofficial bug (and developers' cheat) descriptions are a more interesting read...
  15. And "Comanche" is expensive too! Oh, how brightly they burn in EECH... F-16 also burn fine but they are a rare catch for my Alligator Actually I don't quite understand what's the point in stealth helo as it's main cover still lies in keeping low profile.
  16. What about laser guidance?
  17. So, it's basically like microphone arrays used to track subs? The best stealth system is a slow, prop-driven, wood-fabric plane.. No good IR signature, no radar blip, not even a sound unless you are really close. Make it unmanned, arm it with a nuke, blast everything http://www.hans-egebo.dk/Polikarpof.htm
  18. It's not difficult to "defeat stealth technology" AFAIK, old Soviet radars that use larger wavelength than modern systems are able to spot stealth planes easily. To make something invisible for them you'll have to put about a meter-thick coat of absorbing material on the plane - and try to fly it.
  19. If you search for the word "Hind" here, you'll find it very close to "flyable" and "cockpit". http://www.eechcentral.com/wiki/index.php?title=Timeline I suppose both EEAH and EECH with a load of community mods are required...
  20. Huh... missed this topic completely. I think I'm good at Russian At least I live in Moscow and was born in Moscow... And I also write some articles for this mag http://gamenavigator.ru/ And moderate it's forum.
  21. Watching the crew jump out and nailing them down with MG?
  22. *prods kendo in the direction of PMs
  23. There is a two-week free trial. I used it Action part reminds of Operation Flashpoint a LOT. Same feeling of well.. being cannon fodder.. But urban fighting at dawn in a bombed village with aircraft buzzing above is great.. And then you get a rifle round in the eye and start pushing up the daisies which are plentiful there. There's also some kind of resource system which makes sieges possible. I remember one small town where all but trucks and rifle infantry spawns were expended so every single tank and AT gun was such a great value that guys dragged the gun into a bombed building every time a plane was approaching. Actually it was after that episode that I realised that limitations of weapons available to a certain rank are perfectly justified. Newbies would all hop into Tigers and Shermans and grab sniper rifles and drive Destroyers into the sea - and be dead with all the valuable equipment in less than a minute. Wasteful. And the huge seamless map is great... I took off at a German airfield, flew without interruptions all the way to front line at dawn, scared the oil out of a sleepy Spitfire and hit him hard, though not downed. Then got shot by the flak pretty hard, legs wounded - decided to return to friendly lines, lowered gear too early, lost it, jammed flaps, crash landed onto a field (don't land in the forest EVER). Despawned and returned to base..
  24. And what about http://www.wwiionline.com/ ?
