  6. Черт.. так привык, что здесь тишина полная, что не заглядывал. Сам летаю в основном на драндулетах Первой мировой, но поиск тут и на форуме Thirdwire хороший.. Похоже, что радар в старых кабинах работает полноценно работает по земле только с 60. А HUD с просчетом точки попадания - с 70. В кокпитах под avionics70 радар отрисовывается не программно, а через текстуры, и землей это пока работает очень криво. Вирпилы в основном тихо ругаются и ждут следующего обновления движка... Кину вопрос в общий раздел, посмотрим, что ответят. Может какой хитрый трюк найдется.. ...Немного погодя... Угу. 70 рекомендуют для перехватчиков, а на то, что работает по земле оставляют 60. Собственно инфа по добавлению HUD из семерки в пит под 60 (но при этом радар заглохнет). Текстуры всех маркеров должны лежать в tga в папке с кокпитом машины.
  7. Well, if people are in a hurry and a tight budget they don't usually try to streamline the code. AFAIK, History Channel makes games based on some of their other series, and I haven't heard about them being particularly good either. Actually, it's a great piece of luck, if a game based on an upcoming movie or popular TV show turns out at least half-decent.

  9. Then how come that a free fan-made patch for Enemy Engaged 1 has full TIR support? It wasn't a feature of original game and was introduced only by fans when game source was released open.

  16. IL2 forest means a forest made out of three or four horizontal planes. Each plane has many green blobs (i.e. leaves, branches) and transparent space between the blobs. So when the planes are placed one over another with a little space between it does look great from above. Unfortunately, it looks appalling close up and whey you fly below tree-top level. They use the same kind of vegetation in Targetware -> Richthofen Skies. At least I saw something very like it there. But I still vote for separate trees... however simple, as long as they don't look all alike and face the same direction they look nice.

  18. Добро пожаловать на свежеоткрытый русскоязычный подфорум CombatAce. Основная тема CA - симуляторы. Комбатсимы, симуляторы вертолетов, реактивных и поршневых самолетов, танков, подлодок... Недавно открылся раздел, посвященный космосимам. Также на CA обитает немало моддеров, чьи творения можно увидеть в разделе Downloads (для скачивания необходимо зарегаться на форуме). Как можно заметить, большая часть модов предназначена для установки на авиасимы от Third Wire Productions. Для них создано огромное количество дополнительных самолетов, территорий, текстур и наземных объектов. Если возникнут какие-то вопросы, но на английском задать их не получается, спрашивайте здесь - постараюсь перевести и донести до нужного раздела форума, ответы откуда переведу обратно и кину сюда.

  21. So, it's basically like microphone arrays used to track subs? The best stealth system is a slow, prop-driven, wood-fabric plane..   22. It's not difficult to "defeat stealth technology" AFAIK, old Soviet radars that use larger wavelength than modern systems are able to spot stealth planes easily. To make something invisible for them you'll have to put about a meter-thick coat of absorbing material on the plane - and try to fly it.
