When I was there for the AIrshow, one of the best things I enjoyed is the fact that the SR71 was (as well as all the other aircraft in the hangar) un-roped. You could kick the tires, walk under it, and just about do anthing you want around it as well as all the other aircraft in the hangar. The USAF Museum is constantly LOANING aircraft to other musuems, and Vice Versa. Another UPSETTING thing to me was the lack of the XB-70 Valkyrie. Apparently this is on loan to the Smithsonian for it's grand opening last week. I hadn't seen this aircraft since like the late 70's and I was really looking foward seeing it. Cheers! Fates

Have you tried to re-download the Patch 1? I would try that route first. Cheers! Fates

I always look for what the developer goals are, and how they convey the goals in the form of the games abilities. They always make the statement and they call it FEATURES. If you read the feature list of Soldner: Secret Wars, and you apply it to the eyball candy that they've alread dealt out, then this game may very well take top notch. I only hope the that FEATURES list doesn't effect the graphics realism to the point that it bogs the game down like a LOMAC game. With the Release date pending uin February, I'm hoping to see a DEMO out in late January. Garunteed will be doing a review of the demo and definately the game. This is on my Must Have list! <C> Fates

Dutchy, I was ast the museum back for the 2003 Dayton Airshow. I was rather pissed that it wasn't there then. I was even more pissed that they didn't have one on static display at the airshow. It was suppose to be the greatest airshow on the planet, and if it wasn't for the friends that I was around, I would have chalked the airshow up to being quite boring. I've seen better performances. As far as the B-2 is concerned, that aircraft, to my understanding was a test aircraft used for testing structural flaws and Service difficulties. This aircraft has been destroyed a few times over. Test where they intentionally bend a wing to see what force it will take until it explodes. The article basically explains why it's in the museum. Would you rather it be sent to the Boneyard in Tuscon to sit in crates for 30 years? I'm glad it's there where it can be admired for the huge waste of money it is....hehe....But It's saved lives in the MIddle East, and no price is to high for that. Fates

Simply put, Beta-Testing is making sure that the product performs in a manner that meets the developers description and design In that statement, things like making sure all the mechanics of the game work to the developers design. This may include confirming that everthing works properly, is graphically correct, and performs their intended function per the developers design. This can be blanketed on to include aircraft, vehicles, missles, guns, flight instruments, etc..etc.. or just anything that does something. The game is tested at the Beta stage by outside players that are generally not part of the design/development team. They are a mixed bunch that represent the public in the form of computer equipment, connection speed, and they generally have a certain amount of gaming experience to know what to look for and raise questions about. I found many times where I thought I found a bug, only to discover that it was designed that way because.....insert reason. As bugs are found, they are reported to the developers and there is generally a QA session where that bug will be disscussed and confirmed by other testers. The developers, knowing the flow chart of code will also know what questions to ask the tester so a resolution can be found. Troubleshooting any problem starts with a good understanding of the code, and somethings are simple to change, others are much more complex. Generally, developers will tackle several bugs and repair them and then release a new build. This new build is like having a whole new game, and just because something worked in the 1st build don't mean it still works with subsequent builds. This can make a Beta-testers job quite tedious becuase he/she must still go back and make sure everything...EVERYTHING...still meets the developer design. With any luck, the new code hasn't broken other things and the new build will be better then the last. However, somethimes changing code at the developer stage can break more things then were fixed. This cycle repeats until: Eventually, Producers enter the picture, and say "WHEN"? The Developer says "Soon?"...and the Beta-Testers say "What?"...The Producer then says "NOW!"...the Developer says "Please...can I have more time?"...the Developer's say "NO!"...and the Beta-testers say "I'll be here for the patch" To answer some of your specific questions: I can't say specific, but I would guess at 20+ Beta-testers plus the development team. They perform as mentioned above. They don't just play the game, although they may have some nights were they have fun, most of it is truely work. For example you my find a bug that only happens at a certain point in the mission. Well, you might not be able to zoom to that point to test the bug...and you'll spend 30 minutes attempting to duplicate it. Plus 10 other testers will do the same thing. Not just onace...but several times. They will try to trouble shoot themselves (which is good) and they may spend an 8 hour day just trying to theorize what the problem could be. They play the game and LOOK for bugs. Once those are found...they are reported and then other testers will attempt to duplicate and bring the bug to the Devs attention. My guess is that it was brought up in testing, but somewhere there has to be a line drawn and the game must reach the consumer...with or without bugs. This is something all of us hate as consumers, but it's a fact of life that I don't think is gonna go away anytime soon. Any problem with a game has to be expained to the Producer which have deadlines to meet to get the product to the storeshelves. Sometimes, like in the case LOMAC, I believe the developers were having a difficult time with certain modules of the game...they begged producers for more time and LOMAC was delayed to allow a better game to reach the consumers. Had they released it early with larger more complex bugs, the product would have been met with larger dissapointment by the consumer and decreased sales. Cheers! Fates

I don't think a MILLION pieces is called for...maybe a couple though. As an Aero Engineer I can assure you that almost all military aircraft could land on a carrier. I'm not saying that they could take off from one, but landing is a different story all together. THe G-Loads are a matter of pilot training and technique. The aircraft (F-15) could IMHO easily accept the g-loads on the landing gear, and although maybe not designed for carrier landings, I'm sure it could do it. They may have to remove the gear for overhaul and NDT work as well as some airframe structure. This is the F-15's Arrestor hook: I'm merely commenting on Real Word...not LOMAC. Cheers! Fates

Thanks for the news ArgonV!! Cheers! Fates -
The fact that their is a production aircraft is one thing, I think Clark might be referring to PRODUCTION. Honestly, I know nothing of the Yak, or whether it's in Production of not. It may just be yet another eternal prototype <C> Fates

BUFF..... Abit = headache , just ask quite a few people. But that's a discussion for when Beer gets back in town ;) There may be no difference price wise between PC2700 and 3200 but check your motherboards acceptance of such RAM. I found that my older A7v8x would take up to 3200 but only in 1 slot. Thus it was better for me to run 2700 so I could utilize more slots. Anyway, PGRaptor...Buff does have a point that if you want to stay in the price range with those specs, you may be foolin yourself. I think the ultimate goal is PERFORMANCE and not NUMBERS. For example...if an AMD 2400 (1.9 Mhz) outperforms a Pentium (2.5Mhz) and cost $150 less....then...it's a no brainer. My only recommendation is ASUS mobo's and AMD processors. The Radeon is definately the way to go these days. CHeers! Fates

Snapple, Read the CoD Review : HERE It will give you some insight as to what different characters you play, as well as explain the game better. I wish I had MOHAA in my collection so I could have done some comparison for everyone, but I'm saving my money for LOMAC. I did however buy COD, based on the great demos that they offered. Once again, I can't speak about MOHAA, but I can say that the single player experience truely does draw you into the game. And, since it's from the same basic design team, I don't think they would have put out a new product unless they improved on I hope the review answers some of your questions. Cheers!! Fates

I can't speak for MOHAA. I can tell you that CoD is well worth the money I spent just for it's single player ability alone. I'm not that satisfied lately with the MP side of it though. THe Deathmatches can be nothing more then a Bunnyhoping aimbot cheatin frag fest. I enjoy the Mp games that require teamwork and at least CoD offers this ability. FOr that I am grateful that I purchased the game...and I'll be playing it more and more as the MODS for it become greater and greater. <C> Fates
