It's been brought to my attention by my co-worker, an ex F15c crew cheif that there is definately a bug with the new F15 screenshot LOMAC produced: F15 bellies arn't that clean..... hehe

Madjeff has started a list of Virtual Fighter Squadrons, however, it's up to the squads to start leaving a link so we can get them posted. I hope everyone leaves us a link to their squad page so we can get this list rolling no matter what sim you play. Here's where you can view/add a link to a squad page. http://www.biohazcentral.com/modules.php?o...=viewlink&cid=8 I hope this grows into a great database. With Madjeff blessings, I'll even try to make sure that defunct squads get removed as well as new squads get recognized. Strike Fighters does not yet have a yellow pages, except for here and a few squads that list other squads. You probably will not have one on the Thirdwire or Strategy First web sites.

Yep....you got it here first....it's a beta skin...but I thought I'd get it out tonite... http://oldirtybastards.homestead.com/files...fp1_hl_skin.zip PS: I don't have the game yet...that's why you don't see the slots. If you have the game though....this will work fine... <C>

Cheers Hollywood...I had a hard time choosing between these two:

I must say Hollwood and the rest of the N42 crew....Welcome to Biohaz Central. I hope you find a home here for the Air support you ground pounders need...hehe... As you well know the future of sim is not FPS or Flight Sims...it's "Combat Sims" like BF1942 where you can fly, walk, drive etc...Having great communities like your own mix with other great communities like BioHaz can greatly benefit the future of Combat Simulation all together.

How bout this one? I'd be happy to start skinning many of these request, however, the game is not yet out in my area. I'm about 5 weeks away from a new gamer machine and the purchase of SF:P1....I hope everyone can bare with me. Until then look for many skins to start becoming available....Maybe we can even talk Madjeff into hosting a picture of each new skin, and where you can get it??? (hint...hint...)

Not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this...but it'll get the point accross; http://forums.ubi.com/messages/message_vie...mac_gd&id=zzgdb My Sig and URL is banned from lomac because it contains the word Bastard.... I can post there...just can't mention my squad and it's URL. What a bunch of .......... Sorry..... /soapboxoff Fates

<C> 195-Vang I was there when you said you were gonna investigate....honestly didn't think you'd find the answer so fast. Thanks for posting this info MadJeff....I'm sure there are plenty of squads that are just dying to here this and more. The question isn't "If TCP/IP will happen direct....it's "When" I just hope many squads and pilots understand that this is still in its infancy and there will be many changes in the near future and eventually a good solid game with MP will grace our computers. <C> Fates

Su-39 dropped from flyable list, now AI only
Fates replied to Hogpen13's topic in General Discussion
Just my two cents but here it goes: The SU-39 is the successor to the SU-25...matter of fact....it's also known as the SU-25T. The SU-25 is in the game. As sad as I am to see any dev team axe an aircraft, the plane is still there...just not the avionics and weapon delivery systems of the much more advanced SU-39. This narrows the game more to a better time period. All the aircraft, whether varients or not have good conterparts now... I can just hear the wish listers muffed voices for more aircraft!!! The decision was made, and I think Wags and the team have made the right one. I wanna see this sim before Pentium hits the 4Ghz mark. Cheers Fates -
Cheers Gentlman, I'd like to say you guys got some great sites and it looks like the P1 crowd is gonna get bigger and bigger. You can add you site to the small but growing list here at BiohazCentral...just click here: http://www.biohazcentral.com/modules.php?o...dex&req=AddLink I'm currently on RW talking to the team as they fly in Gamespy lobby. Hope to see ya there soon. New news is they solved the launch bug they had previously....looks like they all launch in the same country now. Anyway...grab a bar stool and enjoy the company... < C > Fates

Posted this on LOMAC general board but thought I'd do the same here as well: I see everyone saying how awesome these screenshots are, but somewone please correct me if I'm wrong. As you have seen from the screenshots, they do have some nice effects, like Hud visibility and formation lights, but the overall pic leaves alot to be desired...I'm I the only one that see this?

I think your goin to see a game that is pretty closed to outside intervention. I'm sure the LOMAC dev team will make available to everyone the following things to be altered: Aircraft Skins (aircraft paint schemes, to include decals) Cockpit Skins These things will allow anyone to personalize their aircraft, yet still keep everyone that plays the game on the same "NO HACKS" playing field. This is what most hardcore flight simmers prefer. The ability to change flight characteristics and weapon characteristics is precisely what the the LOMAC crowd wants to avoid. Nothing kills the enjoyment of a game quicker then renegades flying UFO's. You may see mods from experienced hackers start to develop within a few short months of the games release. These are generally very well kept secrets. Because of that, you will only eventually be ably to identifiy certain callsigns to be "hacked". But I must point out that with this as with any sim, bandwidth and internet connection play a vital role as to what a player "see" vs what's the opponent "does". We'll all have to sit back and just play the game...learn how to skin and create our own custom paint scheme....but its my opinion that we leave the FM's and such alone and play a fair fight. Cheers Fates

I'm not the computer geek I once used to be, but I bought an ENVISION 19" Flat monitor for $239 at comp usa.... Great monitor at a great price. Buddy of mine has a 17" and both have excellent quality. <C>
-
the majority of users probably still run 800x600, however more and more people are purchasing computers with 17" screens or better. I just converted most of my site to 1024x768, which has become the next standard for larger monitors. I run 1024x768 at home....on a 19" monitor. I would run this resolution on a 17" monitor, but If i still ran a 15", I would run 800x600.

If I uninstall/reinstall one more time....I'm gonna put everything down except my beer and then I'm gonna pick up a shot gun and send my old comfuser straight to HELL. Anyway....I Downloaded the software...the first time was from the FTP site and when I went to install, it installed some software from Megalux know as Ultimate FX....a graphics/photo editor.... The went thru 2 u/isntalls before I said F-it and moved on....chugged a Coors, then downloaded it from Autodesk. This version worked. I meet the (Minimum Requirements) with little room to spare. I think I answered a setup question wrong when I first ran it....picked OpenGL instead of Direct3D....now when it runs...I see the actual program screen flash then dissapear. It is now longer running. I'm still WIN 98se..I did another un/Install and same thing....but this time it didn't show a setup screen after the install... I opened up the ini file to see the OpenGL was still there.....How can I go about another setup run of this program to change my settings? Will another beer help my problems? Let's see Fates

I can see it now....Denzil_SW (Skunkworks).....A devoted team of pilots that take to the skes in the unique skinned aircraft. All black with a white stripe on the spine of the aircraft. The Unique Pepee La Pue on the tail and the callsign under the canopy..... They fly X-Planes still in development against veteran pilots. More to come.... Fates

<C> USAF is not ready to be put to ground yet. You know as well as I that this game is still kickin much more then some other older and newer Janes releases. I sorta came into the USAF crowd when it was full bore. However, several on the squad have been around since Day 1, and still visit the HL and Gamespy. As far as Woopopeye...LMAO....he's around...you'll be shot down by him before they shut the coffin door on this game.....IMHO... You said one thing about this game that i must quote here because I think it's sums up why everyone has come to enjoy USAF so much: I think that USAF has brought one thing to flight simmers and that's just the simple joy of dogfighting FUN. Yes, the avionics weren't up to F4 status, and neither may have been the FM's or other aspects of the game. however, IMHO they were deceptive enough to make you BELIEVE they were real...so you could just simply enjoy the game. That's what its all about...FUN so....sit back, relax, ....and have another on me Cheers Fates

<C> Injun, Weasy, et al There's no telling how many new squads will make their way out of the woodworks once this game hits the shelves. I hope many fly solo long enough to 1) get used to the game from wally-beta veterans, and 2) get used to the system that will be in place for multiplayer. I'm speaking of the gamers that are new to squads and flight sims. The squads will be able to sort those out, and the renegades will stay that way, while the enthusiast that wants to learn more will eventually find a squad that's right for them. I think Weasy and I represent two very different squads that still have the same goal: FUN. MadJeff is starting a list here for all squads. Depending on how large this lists grows, he may have to divide it up into flight sims played. I'm sure there will be some that are strictly LOMAC and not P1, and vice versa. I would recommend that everyone lists their site with BIOHAZCentral. As more and more squads appear, all players will benefit by a master list, as could be found here. We all know that some squads start up and last 2 weeks and then disband and become 2-3 different squads....hehe Don't worry about support from HL. It may take time for Jiri to get a polished version of the game (patches included) before we see support their. As Weasel stated, the game is already in the works to head to Jiri's lap. However, until it gets there, Gamespy will support P1. Cheers Fates

After reading the boards and surfing several online stores. I've found that Strike Fighter: Project 1 has gone GOLD! And we should all expect to see it on our store shelves in 2 weeks. This doesn't appear to be a Hoax...There have been several people working countless hours to bring this game to you. I think TK has finally put his blessing on the product. Several at Sim HQ are not denying it has gone gold, in fact they keep implying it has. This is just my opinion.... Fates

I've already started the Research. I think Beer_ODB and myself are gonna dabble with this one as a project. Hope your not offended, I was just curious if it was on the list, I know you guys got a lot on your plate. I may pick your mind about about Gmax time and again. We're just gettin to spin out some graphics. Big Beer has done a few oil rig platforms and such. I can't run Gmax on my system now, put I should have my new machine up in a month! Cheers Fates

Denzil, how many request has everyone seen for a B-58 Hustler Flyable in Project-1? Man-o-Man I would love to fly this in a mission. I'll even take this one into a dogfight....just puch the throttles foward and after I pass everyone....I fire my rear mounted 20mm Gatlin gun. Maybe you can give BigBeer_ODB some GMAX lessons and we'll be flying it in no time.... BTW, Great work, Simply Marvelous!!! Cheers Fates

Flight sims are not goin out....but here's a glimpse of what we will see in the future: Many modern games are taking advantage of allowing the player to play on multiple fronts: In the air, on the ground, at sea... This has been a concept that has been around for aa long time. We are just now starting to see games like WWII: Online, and Battlefield:1942 emerge that are starting to depict what the future of sim will be. Granted we may sit back and discuss Simulation vs. Arcade, but my opinion is that for producer to make games that allow a player to play in multiple arenas, those game may lean towards the arcade side. Janes started a site called "All Out War" in which their original intent was to link all their released games and combine them into one map and platform where fighters from USAF could be dogfighting with fighters from F/A-18. There were to be ground troops and naval battles and the whole nine yards. I'm sure they weren't the first to attempt this, but there one of the few that I remember in recent history. The Future of Simulation is here. It may be in somewhat of an arcade format, but as computers and technology a pushed to the limits, so will game producers. Within 10 years, IMO, we will see games that are modulated. In other words, there will be one game in which you can buy modules for. Each module will consist of one arena: Naval Forces, Air Forces, Ground Forces: Troops, Ground Forces: Manned Vehicle, etc... You will be able to buy the game along with your favorite sim module. These will all be linked online via one huge multiplayer session. So if you want to be apart of the Air Forces, you may have a choice of countless aircraft..but you will be fighting real players....in the air and on the ground...much like the arcrade style games of today. My reply to the question "Are flight sims on their way out?" is this: They have only just begun. For true simulation you would need a person firing that SAM at your aircraft, or a person with a 50 cal firing AAA...Only then will it truly be "Simulation" Fates
