  1. OK....the Demo is out for all you race fans...and WOW is it great. Here's the Link to the Demo: http://tek54.net/Nr2003Demo.zip Have fun....TeamODB will be starting a Racing Series in a couple weeks. I'll post more information for those interested. For those that didn't know, Nascar has sold out to EA Sports and their pay to play forums. Papyrus, which has long dedicated it's talents to perfecting the race sim, will no longer be envolved in Nascar sims. This is quite a shame since their products have met such a high standard. I've tested the DEMO and WOW...It is great from the ground up. The Full Version will hit the shelves on Feb 4th. Cheers
  2. The one thing that hurts me the most is the PINKY SHIFT button....I find I'm accidentally hitting it. THis is mainly because I'm used to my old Logitech.... This is also the main reason why I'm goin to mod my joystick this week to insert a rubber grip to lift my hand up higher on the stick. This may not get rid of my accidental Pinkie Shift, but it will make the rest of the joystick keys easier to use.
  3. OK....was wondering if a few of you could give me some critique on the following file: I left some keys open but there's only so many to program. I use the default controller INI file and edit it for my controller. I've found the if you use the in game setup to adjust your stick, it does work, but will often not unassign a function that was previously duplicated. ie...I have "fire weapon" as the "launch" key....if I reassign the "Launch" key, I will not have 2 functions assigned to the launch key, and ony one will work. I've had to go into the INI file to edit this. Here are the major things that I've found useful. I use the mouse button on the throttle to give me the MAP....this acts like a JTIDS in some respect. I use throttle Fire D as a speedbreak I use the joystick Fire A to select radar mode I use the joystick Fire B to deselect radar target I use the Joystick #1 POV for camera view...(Thinkin to change to snap view) I use the secondar joystick POV for AA and AG weapon select For those that use Roger Wilco...I've set up my profile thru the SAITEK software to make the FIRE C button = Scroll_Lock. I then make RW activate via the Scroll_lock. I've found this to be a effective setup...but please don't be affraid to let me know what you think <C>
  4. OK MJ... I bought the materials that I should need for the mod today...gonna try to get it all done by the end of the week....wish me luck!
  5. Ok MJ, I created a chat room....now I can't get rid of it???? I exit the chat room I created....but it's still there...and It says i'm still in the chat room. I waited the 180 seconds...then I'm no longer in the chat room I created....by I can't twinkle my nose and make it all dissappear? There's an easy way to add a chat room, but not a way that My drunk butt sees for the creator to delete it when he's done with it. Maybe I'should just goto bed and it'll all be gone in the morning??? Any suggestions?
  6. Well....my only complaint about the Saitek Controller has been the Comfortability of the Joystick. The throttle comfort is great, but I miss my old Logitech Wingman Extreme Digital when it comes to comfort. Hence I will be working on a mod, unless someone already knows of one, that will increase the comfort. I would like to see how much interest there is out there. All I'm really gonna do is create a Rubber attachment to the FLAT hand support on the Joystick. This will prop my hand up a little higher on the stick as well as create a cushion for long term flying. I'll let everyone know how it turns out <C>
  7. In that case, let me explain a few things. 1. Standard USAF 1.02 carries stock flyables only. 2. The USAF Development Group has re-created the original game and designated it Super Pro 9 (SP9) 3. The two are actually completely different with the latter based on the original For you SP9 needs to fly all those aircraft, stop by McFly's SP9 site: http://www.bobsyouruncle.net/adminsuperpro.htm Most download sites are closed but I know you can get it from the 195th Blacksheep: mailto:http://bblacksheep.homestead.com/BlackSheep.html%20 I currently have an outdated version of the latest admin. Correction....downloading latest version now...it's 260Mb. I'm receiving it from: http://bulldawgs.org/mirrors/superpro/ This is a complete new game...you will have to read the instruction at McFly's site to better understand the installation process...especially if you want to run both versions BTW....don't forget to check out this: http://www.biohazcentral.com/index.php?&catid=4 Let me know if I can help anywhere else Cheers!
  8. Hey Dagger! Thought this forum was gonna dry up as well. However there were about 15 pilots in HL last night flying a bunch! Anyway, your best bet is to hop over to Mcfly Hangar: Utilities http://www.bobsyouruncle.net/utilities.htm Pick up the NO CD Patch and you'll be set. Extract the file to your Janes Combat Sim/USAF folder and it will overwrite the original 1.02 USAF.exe file Most players play in HL although some still use Gamespy. good luck...any other problems...just let me know Fates
  9. Ok....why? Fox airs new show Man vs. Beast and decides to put several little people up against an Elephant to see who could pull a 5 Ton DC-10 75 feet in the shortest amount of time.... Care to Guess who won?

    Multiplayer ?

Well....Hyperlobby has always been my choice. I'm pretty geared towards the multiplayer online experience that HL brings. I like IP connect for troubleshooting and missions... I've never been a big Lamespy supporter. Just my 2 cents. Thanks Jiri.
  11. Well, Weasel 87th bought me a free beer when I started....I'm gonna buy another round for the pub and say CHEERS! Welcome Aboard!
  12. Just my opinions but, Lomac is screaming for an F16. Yes, the F16 has probably been flight simmed to death, but I find it odd that UBI would publish countless pictures of a non-flyable aircraft with out seriously considering the game followers constant cries for this as a flyable. With the versatility of this aircraft and the countless NATO aligned countries that use it, I would expect to see it in the upgrade. Besides that, I think that the next aircraft we may see is the addition of the F14. Many people have stated that there are no 2 seaters in this game and that this is something that Ubi-soft may definately be working to correct in a future add-on. The F14 fills that role graciously. Keep in mind that there are many screaming for the Tornado as well as the Harrier and Rafael. Of these three, I think the Tornado would win in an add-on for its simplier producability. I'm gonna be happy flying just about anything this sim creates. <C> P.S. Make The F4 Phantom Flyable as well....
  13. Thank God there was no post accident fire. These pilots were truely being watched out for.
  14. Price is Less....I dont think so FX will sell for $150-$200 more then Radeon 9700
  15. I'm in the market for an upgrade....THe gamer is not yet complete until I've plugged in all the best resources. However Should I fork out and extra $100-200 Bucks for features that aren't available yet? This FX card is gonna hit the market in the next month. The numbers on paper are great...and the benchmarks are just starting to come in. Should I prepare now for LOMAC 2? Asus A7V8X Mobo w/ Tt Volcano 9 AMD 2400 2.0 Ghz (not OC...yet) 512 DDR PC2700 (gonna goto 1GB soon) GeForce 3 (here's the wifes new card) 19" Envision at 1024x768 Saitek X45 and Logitech RumblPad
  16. I hope everyone gets a chance to go to the Dayton, OH Airshow at Wright Paterson Airforce Base. This Year is goin to be very special since it is the 100th Anniversery of Powered Flight. Dayton 2003 will include the USAF Thunderbirds, the Navy's Blue Angels and the Canadian Snowbirds each day of the show. To Celebrate this event, several online squads are trying to put together a Combat Flight Sim LAN show that will beat all others. I would like to invite everyone to this grand event. We are just in the early stages of organization and it's already looking to be a annular spectacle. Please visit our site at: www.simdayton.homestead.com If you are planning to attend the airshow and would like more information about this event, please leave us a message on the message board. Information concerning hotels and reservations will be included soon. We're working on getting group rates as well as setting up a tour to the Presidential and R&D museums. Yes, that's right, the airshow is not just a normal airshow, but for those that don't know, Dayton is the home of the United States Air Force Museum. This is gonna be one grand event that no one should miss. I hope everyone can be there. Thank you Fates
  17. You can find this at the hogpen....it's not the Desert Screen...but I've seen similar: Here's another:
  18. Is someone missing a goat? I'm not offended at all MW, it's just that we have different opinions. However I do believe that many of our opinions intersect, for instance: Yes, I would like to see 3DsMAx lower their prices, and if they don't, then maybe a Gmax to 3Ds converter. Yes, I would like to see more simmers playing SFP1 Yes, I would like to see SFP2 (Meaning the sim does well and TK makes another) Just my opinion, sorry
  19. Well, 3DS Max is an expensive bit of software. However I take a little different look at it. For someone to afford that software, there must be a reason. That reason is usually career related like "I'm in the graphics professions". That software is also extremely difficult to master. Thus those that do have it are probably using it on a daily basis and possible have so for several years. They have become experienced to the point of putting out new aircraft in a short time. And when I say short, let's ask those that have been modelling aircraft. I don't thank there's a single aircraft that has taken less then 6 months to produce, and that's for an experienced artist. The final product that they produce is incredibly accurate from the radome to the tail nav light. Yes I think it would be great if GMAX was supported for the amatures that want to install a ground object or two, but I would tend to leave the aircraft to the best software and experienced modellers that enjoy flight sims. I'm greatful to those that extend their nights to bring us new planes.
  20. That one is a oil drill ship: but there are several different ships in the works,
  21. In conjunction with the friends over at SW, BigBeerODB has been working on several ships that will soon be a part of SFP1. They are installed in the game but there are a few hurdles yet to be jumped. Here is a taste of what you may see:
  22. Sorry, but I'd have to question the 60,000+ fpm climb rate....WOW!!!
  23. What your describing is exactly what Madjeff is trying to get implemented in the Knowledge Base section at Biohaz Central. The problem with creating this in a Forum style is that a specific problem like: "How do I edit the decals" would become a redundant thread that many might just get sick of answering the same question over and over again. By putting this information in the Knowledge Based Section at BioHaz, it gives the viewer a list of things that they're seeking information on, they click it, and go directly to a concise and accurate answer. The KB section will evolve over time and several years from know someone that picks this game up at Walmart for $9.99 can find a great deal of information in a small amount of space. I hope everyone contributes. If you have any contributions, please go check it out.....it would be a great help. http://www.biohazcentral.com/index.php?mod...rs:%20Project-1 Cheers
  24. It's been my observation that the HL generally goes down for short periods of time between 1700-1900 Eastern time. I believe this to be due to the fact that the site is located at GMT+4. This would mean that it is very late in Europe, thus, a good time to pruduce updates. If you have trouble with the Hyperlobby in the future, try to goto the website. If the website is down, then the ultimate problem is that updates are generally taking place. It's been my experience since the Hyperlobby's creation that this is the case. I've almost always found it back up and going with a few hours. Fates
