What is SEAM and how does it affect you? SEAM is Sidewinder Expanded Acquisition Mode. It was introduced to the AIM-9G. This is what it does; "Allows the optics either to be slewed through a search pattern, or to be slaved to the aircraft's radar to acquire a target." *Information gathered from Raytheon website... So I got to thinking, "Did TK put this feature in the sim?" I loaded up a mission set in 1972, flying the F-4B_67. I jumped on Mig-21's tail, set the radar to boresight mode, locked him up, selected a winder and without tone, I fired. Keep in mind this Mig-21 was in the process of a tight left turn that I couldnt hold with him. The winder jumped off the rail went wide left and smakced him right in the fuselage. Very cool. However, had to test it again, this time 1v1 vs Mig-19, started on his six, he pulled hard right so my winder tone dropped off. I had already got a boresight lock on him and I fired. Winder jumped off the rail went right, hit him in the cockpit. I lathered, rinsed and repeated this 6 more times for a total of 6 for 8 kills. So I am thinking TK might of added this feature. Does anyone want to give this a go and let me know the results? Finally the AIM-9G is an improved AIM-9D and this did work with the AIM-9D, however the AIM-9D didn't have SEAM in real life, so if this feature is in there then the AIM-9D needs to be adjusted to not have SEAM. Thoughts?

That gives me a woodrow....

FrankD I like you, am not an avionics expert. Jat and Crusader are the experts, so that is an excellent question for them. I just do not know. Squid FrankD answered your other questions about the MICA brilliantly. I have a my own weapons pack installed. Hope this helps.

Great stuff Champ, thank you.

Squid You might of got a bad install. I suggest you re download and re install. Trust me all that stuff is working fine. And for the third time did you happen to edit your options.ini? Open it up ins in your main mod folder, scroll down to this section [singleMission] AircraftType=Typhoon Service=RAF MissionMap=DESERT MissionType=RECON MissionTime=EVENING MissionWeather=SCATTERED AirActivity=LIGHT AirDefenseActivity=NORMAL FlyAll=FALSE LoadMission=FALSE LoadMissionFilename=C:\Users\usafmtl\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\Missions\VF-41 1981 Gulf of Sidra.MSN MissionDate=2006 StartYear=1950 <----------------------Edit these lines to say 1950 EndYear=2050 <---------------------- Edit this line to say 2010 or 2050 etc.. What forms do we need to fill out to get this uploaded here for use? Will the forms need to be done in triplicate? After the first disapproval how long must I wait to re submit said forms for further disapproval? -

This sure is some great stuff. Thanks for posting it fellas. -
Stary he is trying to find some magic way to get SF2 stuff to work in SF1 based on his argument that we should be making mods for both versions. Instead he wasted all his time.

View File VF-41 F-14A Sukhoi Killers F-14A VF-41 Black Aces Skin by Dave While on deployment in the Mediterranean Sea on August 19, 1981, during a routine combat air patrol mission over the Gulf of Sidra, two Libyan Su-22 “Fitter” aircraft were shot down by Black Aces aircraft. The incident marked the first Navy air combat confrontation since the Vietnam War and the first ever for the F-14A Tomcat. It was the first time a variable wing geometry aircraft shot down another variable wing geometry aircraft. 1981 was also the first year in which the Black Aces won the COMNAVAIRLANT Battle Efficiency "E", signifying them as the most efficient squadron in the Atlantic Fleet. VF-41 was also awarded the Battle “E” in 1985 and 1989. The 2 Sukhoi killers are in there too. Templates and base skins by Column5 and EricJ. For use with The Mirage Factory F-14A for SF2. To install: Drop the "Objects" folder into any SF2 install: C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Let it overwrite the aircraft and decals folder names. The go fly. Update 22 Jan 11 TF-30 and Glove vane updates by Caesar. Thank you sir. Enjoy Dave aka USAFMTL For my friend Jamie. Submitter Dave Submitted 01/04/2011 Category F-14

Hi Paul Do you have a folder called menu? If not, you need to make one, then add the files there. Also I take it you are using NF4+?
