Unsinkable Carrier?
Roberto Skylord replied to JKstar's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I still don't saw it, but what AI do when you destroy the runway of their home base? They still land on that runway? If they just land as if nothing happens, so it's a fail of campaign management. I believe that the answer for this question could be applied to carriers. "Simple", you loose your campaign as same way you loose the campaign if your home base is captured. You return to your carrier, don't find nothing and can spend some time looking for your CV until you run out of fuel or divert to a friendly airbase. Anyhow, you loose the campaign. Maybe you can abandon your mission, resulting in a mission fail, but can save the carrier. It's depends on how the campaign engine manage the objects of the campaign. Until the point that I could see, the planes flying in a mission is somehow related to your mission. So I think, maybe I'm wrong, that in a case of an attack to your carrier your mission probably would be intercept the attackers. If your plane is an attack aircraft, you will have to rely on your fellows AI to protect your home base while you go strike the enemy somewhere else. It make me remember one thing, I still don't saw my base been destroyed. -
Well, for some objects like AAA or SAM if not specifically defined, such placing a SA-2 or HAWK, the engine put one of the corrected side from who those area belong. I saw it on a merge install of WOE and WOV. Suddenly I start facing SAMs that doesn't are in use at Vietnam War. Investigating the terrain files, I saw those SAMs defined simply as SAM. The places are in general defined as Strategic nodes (I may be wrong about names, I'm in work now) and is in campaign files that you say who holds that place. Please forgive my bad english.

Well despite I don't agree with it, I think that it goes from anyone mind, it's their decision and i will respect it. All the other stuffs more then compensate it. Ok, keep going in to ground attack without intel data, sir! Man, now more than ever I need to upgrade my equipment. They still are ok for FS2004 and WOE/WOV, but with the WOI and FSX on scene....

Very nice! The questions that I wanna got some answers are, the second flight (numbers 3 and 4) now strike the primary target too. Or they still flying around dropping bombs on anything they see but the primary target? Wingmans commands are improved? And any improvement for the briefing screen, some intel about the target against you will be sended can help a little. The actual state of WOE graphics are just ok for me. Not that I dislike the improvements that are made.

1. High moddability (like SF series) 2. Dynamic campaign (less story-driven) 3. Detailed cockpit procedures (switchology) 4. Detailed comms and ATC 5. Detailed carrier ops 6. Seat-switching in multi-seat aircraft 7. High resolution graphics, terrain and effects 8. Good performance on older systems 9. Story-driven campaign (less dynamic) -
Well, just putting some spice in your daydreaming, you already saw The Combat Simulator Project (CSP) link? The development seems very slow, seeing more like a study tools for the community, but being an Open Source project I believe that it can be modified to make a study sim of F-4 Phantom or whatever desired aircraft. The version that I tested sometime ago had a Mirage 2000 as aircraft to fly. What's the extension of the work to make it, I don't know and maybe can't be possible make some money with it, but very pieces of simulator are already in hand.

Hy guys Recently I formatted my HD and reinstall the WOE. The sequence of installation was: WOE, SP4, WeaponsPack (latest), NATO Fighters 1 & 2, F-14 Mirage Factory. After all this, I manually added the F-14 Fuel Tanks and AIM-54 and it worked ok. The problem is that my weapons shown in list but when I'll try load it to aircraft, they aren't show up on pylon list. I already check the loadout inis of the aircraft (stock F-4E) and it seems ok. But I can't load all types of weapons available from the store, only a few weapons types. None AIM-7, Mk82, Mk84 and so on. Even considering that weapons are availables in quantities. I really search for the solution for this problem (and found a solution to another question  ) but without success. Someone can give a hand? Thanks in advance and sorry my bad english.
