HS is Helicopter Antisubmarine. It's going away. Being Replaced by HSC = Helicopter Sea Combat = SAR, CSAR, ASuW, VERTREP, NSW, AMCM, etc. The ASW role is going to HSM = Helicopter Maritime Strike = SAR, CSAR, ASW, ASuW, SSC, VERTREP, NSW, etc. HSM also used to be HSL = Helicopter Antisubmarine Light... ...After 18 years being part of America's Forward Deployed Naval Force, HS-14 time as a squadron draws to a close. Heading back to San Diego to become HSC-14 sometime next year.
