Need Help Locating Aircraft For Fs2k2
Beer replied to navychief's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator
I got it for ya Chief from www.flightsim.com Just of note, one of the flight engineers (Senior Chief Mellows) on that flight that landed in China was a FE at VP-10 when I was flying. He was a Senior Chief then 1993-1994, no doubt he is a Master Chief now. Will post as an attachment when I finish getting it. Edit first DL did not work see next post for new attachment. Cheers Beer -
Finally got a Pic of one on deck Good to see ya Vacreeper! No have not finished the drillship yet for any game, but I am getting better at making them :) Cheers Beer

Not Likely, I may have to do the bootleg shirts, as long as I leave the Company Logos off I should be safe from getting fired (LOL I hope?). Cheers Beer

Personally I think it was a brilliant move, and is a demonstration of positive leadership characteristics that we all can learn from. Yes it may have a political part for the upcoming election, but it shows a genuine resolve and intent on his part and our Country. He provided the troops with a big morale boost when it is needed most, this makes him a Leader, and not just the Commander in Chief calling the shots from Washington. Cheers Beer

Well (no pun intended...) we did it :D Transocean Inc. and ChevronTexaco Announce New World Water-Depth Drilling Record in 10,011 Feet of Water -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THIRD PARTY RELEASE This is news concerning ChevronTexaco but issued by someone other than ChevronTexaco and archived here for record purposes. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HOUSTON, Nov. 17, 2003 -- Transocean Inc. and ChevronTexaco today announced that the Transocean drillship Discoverer Deep Seas has set a new world water-depth drilling record by spudding a well in 10,011 feet of water in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The record -- set while constructing ChevronTexaco's Toledo well in Alaminos Canyon block 951 -- marks the first time in the offshore drilling industry's history that a drilling rig has explored for oil and natural gas in more than 10,000 feet of water. The previous world water-depth drilling record was 9,727 feet of water in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico by another Transocean drillship, the Discoverer Spirit, in October 2001 working for Unocal. The Discoverer Deep Seas and its sister drillships, Discoverer Spirit and Discoverer Enterprise, incorporate and use Transocean's patented dual-activity technology, which saves time by allowing drilling tasks to be performed in parallel, rather than sequentially as with conventional offshore drilling rigs. Transocean Inc. is the world's largest offshore drilling contractor with more than 160 full or partially owned and managed mobile offshore drilling units, inland drilling barges and other assets utilized in the support of offshore drilling activities worldwide. The company's mobile offshore drilling fleet is considered one of the most modern and versatile in the world with 13 fifth-generation semisubmersibles and drillships, 15 other deepwater semisubmersibles and drillships, 31 mid-water semisubmersibles and drillships and 50 jackup drilling rigs. Transocean Inc. specializes in technically demanding segments of the offshore drilling business, including industry-leading positions in deepwater and harsh environment drilling services. With a current equity market capitalization in excess of $6 billion, the company's ordinary shares are traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "RIG." Navy Chief, the install of Flight Deck should automatically set that stuff up for you. Try reinstall of FD 3, then lite off the arr Cab program; it puts a shortcut on the desktop for you, before you start FS 2002. Cheers Beer

That sea texture is a mod http://www.flightsim.no/file/FS2002_-_Scenery/Texturer/ there are couple of them out and I have tried a few to be honest I am not sure which one is currently installed. The Virtual Pits are not that grand This is a better one its the F-18 Of course this is the Cockpit view (not Virtual)...Pretty messed up eh? I have not had time to try the Freeware addons, IMHO some of the Freeware are better than these payware models. All in all for $ 29.99 I will get my moneys worth though. Cheers Beer

Got my copy of Flight Deck FINALLY from Amazon, ordered it Mid October (so don't order it and expect it by Xmas from Amazon!!). I really want to do a review of this but it showed up the day before I leave for work. Anyway here is a short E-2C landing Video (its not pretty, but it caught a wire). 7 Meg; 1 minute video (right click save Target) Sorry did not record the audio :( http://www.retrorelics.net/jim/FilesDL/E-2CTrap.wmv The box set and the instructions are pretty generic, the install routine has the option for install for FS 2002 or FS 2004, which is nice, your not wondering if your running the 2002 version with 2004. I have not had a lot of time with it yet, but the plane skins could be a bit better for the E-2C (it may be my resolution? The star and Bars just don't look right), but it is enjoyable to trap on something that looks pretty good :) With the exception of the issues I noted on the last screenie, the textures are most excellent! The ball is visible, but is lost in this screenshot do to resizing for posting You can see some texture issues with the flags here. Also not sure but the top deck looks tranparent (no over head) Here are some additional F-18 Pics from my last session, this was post landing. Cheers Beer

I tried it, it has potential, the interface was fairly good, I was able to figure out how to do the basics pretty quickly, the flyouts for each menu cover what they need to, the scenerio has a British carrier and a few harriers airborne, with a couple of patrol boats as picket ships; there were some unknown contacts to the NW. The flyout menu is the major controls with the radar being selectable from the Sensor Status window, also the heading speed and alt can be controlled by using the graphical sliders under the description of the of the selected object (I liked this better than the flyout menu). The file is the x4 build and is just under 7 megs http://gcblue.sourceforge.net/files/GCB_X4portC.zip The windows on the screen had low poly versions of their representive platforms that you view from any angle. The units displayed graphically you could see make their heading changes and you would see the Harriers through their approach when ordered to land. Still has a long way to go but the basics are getting there. The test build is playable for at least one scenerio. CHeers Beer

Discovered this while surfing for H4 info Global Conflict Blue (GCB) Global Conflict Blue (GCB) is a large-scale military strategy game modeling naval and air combat along with a taste of the logistical and diplomatic aspects of war. The goal is a scaleable multiplayer game that can handle scenarios ranging from simple engagements playable in 30 minutes to massive campaigns contested over weeks. Features: Global map - The entire surface of the earth (to 1 km resolution) is available for play. A compression algorithm is used to keep memory and processing demands to a minimum to make this possible. Server-based multiplayer play - The server provides save and restore capability that allows a halted game to be continued from a network-stable image. Players and observers can drop out and reconnect. Flexible time-scaling - Time acceleration and negotiated no-conflict jumps in time in campaign mode are supported to keep game pace at an exciting level. Full serialization - The game can be saved at any time to be continued later. Saved games can also be used in the mission editor as the starting point for new scenarios. Advanced sensor modeling - Radar scan, sub-clutter visibility, stealth, aspect-dependent RCS, ESM detection and classification of emitters, EA jamming and deception, sonar propagation --numerous modeling elements are incorporated to provide a high level of realism. Large-scale design - Capability to handle 1000+ units to support complex engagements. Campaign mode - Diplomatic and logistic features are enabled to recreate the feel of real war. Choose your countries. Build your military, forge alliances, sign treaties, and prepare for battle. The world is yours to win or lose. http://www.globalsimulations.com/index.htm A quick look at the site and I discovered a test build is availible for DL :) This is an open source sim so if you have any talent to offer send them an email! capun The weapons I am currently using are still very high poly count. I think they are the second ones you sent. The 76 mm I modded to match the profile view, which was just dragging the the lower vertythingys down to the deck and leaving the gun barrel at the correct height. If you got new weapons go head and send them I think I am using the first missle luancher and 76 mm, and the second Phalanax. I will add the turrents and send the new model to you. Cheers Beer

15 Nov Update, in game shots, excuse the graphics, since updating the latest driver, I have not tweaked the settings for best in game graphics. Things to do 1. Delete the hidden polys. 2. Get someone to Unwrap it so the maps are on one BMP vice the several I got going now. 3. Map it with the final coat of paint, current map is still rough. 4. Minor tweaks Here is the Max Render Cheers Beer
