  1. Curiosity got the better of me and I tried it in SF2... in 1945 . No sound, which is understandable, but it flies well enough! Good work Veltro2K!
  2. Those tanks look a bit dark on that Royal Navy bird.
  3. Agreed. I didn't hook up with this game until January 2008 and just can't believe what TK has done and what this community has done in the past year.
  4. Garlic bread? It's the future is that. (Only the Brits will understand that - any probably not all)
  5. It could make a good sticky couldn't it? Dumbass Dogfighters
  6. Thunderchief FGA.1 of No.14 squadron, RAF Germany in a shallow dive-bombing attack.
  7. Thanks guys! I've quite enjoyed doing this last lot during my Christmas break and I'm going to try to do better nation specific packages with decal options, loading screens and hanger screens. Wrench, you are the hanger screen guru . Is there a restriction on size/resolution? I normally work in 1680 x 1050 but had a problem with the (white arrow) cursor 'ghosting' across the screen wherever you move it and this problem only disappeared when I came down to 1024 x 768.

Republic Thunderchief S.1 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire F-105D to create a fictional Thunderchief in service with the Royal Air Force in the 1964 to 1973 timeline. In addition, a bonus RAAF 'anti-flash' white skin is included together with an RAF SEAC skin. BACKSTORY At the onset of the fatigue problems suffered by the Vickers Valiant in 1964 it wasn't only the RAF that urgently looked for a quick replacement. With the October 1962 Cuban Missile crisis relatively fresh in their minds, the American administration led by LBJ realised that a quick infusion of European striking power was required and authorised the transfer of a batch of 39 F-105D-25's from US stocks to the RAF and these arrived in December 1964 under "Operation Hastings" (later discovered to be an American jibe at the incoming British Prime Minister Harold Wilson). Entering service with No.207 squadron at RAF Marham in February 1965 the Thunderchief S.1 soon also re-equipped No.49 and No.148 squadrons (also based at RAF Marham) and were initially armed with American Mk28 (B-61) free-fall tactical nuclear bombs before switching to the UK WE.177B in late 1966. Due to their relative short range the Thunderchief S.1's were regularly deployed to RAF Germany until the Victor K.1 tanker force had built up in sufficient numbers. In RAF service the Thunderchief suffered from a high attrition rate and the type was never popular with pilots and began to be supplanted in RAF service by Blackburn Buccaneer S.2's in 1968 with the remaining Thunderchiefs being transferred to RAF South East Asia Command before being retired in 1973. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the ThunderchiefS1 folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the ThunderchiefS1 folder into your main Decals folder. CREDITS Thanks to Third Wire for the continuous improvement of a great little game/sim. Thanks to Daddyairplanes for the 'Euro 1' skin and also to Centurion for the tweaks to this skin and ludo.m54 for the F-105D templates. And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 1 - 08/09/13

  11. That one! Thanks - I hadn't noticed the 'next' button on the smilies
  12. "And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings" http://www.deltaweb.co.uk/spitfire/hiflight.htm (I wish we had a salute smilie)
  13. erikgen = genius
  14. Good work. What a blast I had with this in WOI on an armed recon mission (in 1967). Took out 4 Mirage's that were taking off, did the mission, shot up two other runways and got 2 Super Mysteres on the way home. More than any other 'Red' aircraft this has convinced to do a 'Red' install!
  15. Suberb!
  16. Hunter FGA.9 of No.6 squadron 'The Flying Tin Openers'
  17. Bitchin' skin
  18. A and C models were tasked with strike/attack.

Hawker Hunter FGA.9 'Belize' - Royal Air Force for STRIKE FIGHTERS 1 This is a very simple mod of the sublime Third Wire Hunter FGA.9 to enable you to fly a 1960's era Hunter with either No.1417 Flight based in Belize or No.1435 Flight based on the Falkland Islands. Both are very famous flights in the RAF but such deployments are, of course, fictional. For gameplay reasons, No.1417 Flight are squadron strength whilst No.1435 Flight are just a four-ship with Faith, Hope, Charity and Desperation tail codes! This will only work in 'Wings Over Europe' but you can, of course, also make it work in the other Third Wire Series One games by extracting and exporting all of the relevant files. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the HunterFGA9b folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the HunterFGA9b into your Decals folder. Your stock Hunter FGA.9 will not be affected by this mod. CREDITS Thanks to TK for a great little game/sim. And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. 22. Hunter FGA.9 of No.6 squadron, Royal Air Force Middle East Command immediately prior to an armed reconnaissance mission over Paran. No.6 squadron never quite did operate the Hunter (operating Venoms, Canberras and Phantoms in the Hunter era) but their colourful and evocative markings are just too good to miss! Their popular nickname of 'The Flying Tin Openers' stems from tank-busting exploits using 40mm cannon equipped Hurricane IV's during the North African Desert campaign.
  23. Way to go! That is seriously cool!
  24. No. TBH it was little more than a simple Canadian 'go faster stripe' decal and it looks like we'll have the real McCoy coming very soon.
  25. There's nothing there that can't be made to work with the 'old four' but I just wanted to do something for SF2 which I'm enjoying very much at the moment. I can't see why the decals and decal.ini's shouldn't work with any Third Wire F-4 skin and would look especially good on the Euro One camo in WOE.
