  1. Abukuma class destroyer escort

    This model represents the Abukuma class destroyer escorts (DE-229~DE-234), in service with the JMSDF from 1989 to present. They are designed as cost-effective general-purpose escorts with an emphasis on anti-sub and anti-surface warfare. "Destroyer escort" is the JMSDF's equivalent term for "frigate."

    The Abukuma class features a 76mm gun, Phalanx CIWS, two 4-canister SSM launchers, ASROC launcher, and ASW torpedoes. Installation of a RAM launcher is also planned for the near future.

    A full names list and authentic decals are included. This ship is best used in conjunction with my Kongo, Takanami, Murasame, Asagiri, Hatsuyuki, and other upcoming Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force capital ships.

  3. Asagiri class destroyer

    This model represents the Asagiri class destroyers (DD-151~DD-158), in service with the JMSDF from 1989 to present. An enlarged and upgraded version of the earlier Hatsuyuki class, they are among Japan's most numerous and modern general-purpose escorts.

    The Asagiri class features well-rounded armament including a 76mm gun, two Phalanx CIWS, an 8-cell Sea Sparrow launcher, two 4-canister SSM launchers, ASROC launcher, and ASW torpedoes. Sensor systems include the world's first naval AESA radar, OPS-24, designed and built in Japan.

    A full names list and authentic decals are included. The model features a helicopter deck and a few other surprises. This ship is best used in conjunction with my Kongo class, Murasame class, and other upcoming JMSDF capital ships.

  5. Basic naval threat library for RWR displays

    This mod supplies generic RWR symbols that modders may use to represent ships. Until now, all ship radars would show up as <U> ("unknown") on TEWS-equipped aircraft. With this you will be able to distinguish between general categories of vessels.

    This symbology is not meant to be 100% realistic, and does not display individual radar names or ship class names. Once you install the mod, when flying applicable aircraft around radar-emitting ships, you will see the following symbols on your RWR display:

    PT = Patrol boat
    FF = Frigate
    DD = Destroyer
    CC = Cruiser
    LS = Amphibious assault ship
    CV = Aircraft carrier
    BB = Battleship
    Æ = Aegis-equipped vessel

    Please see the readme file for complete installation instructions and more details. Enjoy!

    ***Note that this ONLY works for the SF2 series; the first gen games don't support this sort of mod.***

    As a bonus, I included a tga file with the official US Navy hull number fonts. Perhaps any other modders making ships will find it useful.

  7. C-14 China Cat class

    This model represents the C-14 China Cat series, a small missile boat designed in China for use in the Middle East. It has been in service with the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy since 2002, and it is also used by the PLAN in limited quantities to test new light weaponry.

    The China Cat can reach speeds of up to 50 knots and can carry a variety of weapons. Three variants are included in this package with the following weapons:
    C-701, a very small anti-ship missile designed for attacking other patrol boats and fast attack craft.
    C-704, a significantly larger anti-ship missile developed from the C-701 designed for attacking medium-size vessels.
    122mm unguided rockets in a 16-round launcher for light artillery support

    All versions have a 23mm cannon on the bow in addition to the above.

    Optional for new modders:

    As this model was built as part of a tutorial I made for CombatAce, I have included the 3D Max files and texture templates in a separate package.
    CombatAce modders are free to modify these files as they see fit to create alternate configurations or entirely different vessels.

  8. CG-16 Leahy class cruiser

    This model represents the Leahy class, in service from 1962 to 1995. The Leahy class was dedicated missile cruiser, equipped with fore and aft twin SAM launchers, and primarily tasked with defending fleet elements.

    This package contains three versions of the Leahy, separated into the major refits the class underwent during its service life:
    As built in 1962: Equipped with Terrier missiles and two 3" twin turrets
    AAW refit circa 1968: Terriers replaced with SM-1ER, electronics updated to support new missiles
    NTU refit circa 1988: New radars, 3" guns replaced with Harpoon launchers and Phalanx CIWS, SM-1ER replaced with SM-2ER

    Each version has its own names.ini list, so each variant will appear in task forces in the correct era. Each version of the ship is substantially different in their anti-air and anti-missile capability, which I have attempted to simulate as best as I can. The Harpoons on the NTU version are fully functional. SRBOC launchers (as on my other USN ships) are included on the model but disabled by default for simplicity's sake.

    Note: The weapon systems, collision mesh, and decals have been updated for compatibility with SF2: North Atlantic and the March 2012 patch. If you have not installed/do not plan to install either, this model will not work properly.

    When setting up a task force, using the USNgrey texture will allow hull decals based on the ship number. If placing the model as a single ship instead of a task force, please use the different texture sets to get a specific hull number.

  9. CG-47 Ticonderoga class Aegis cruiser

    This model represents the early Baseline 1 Ticonderoga class cruisers (CG-47~CG-51), serving the US Navy from 1983 until 2005. They were the first vessels to be equipped with the Aegis combat system and the advanced SPY-1 radar.

    This is my first major 3DMax project and my first model release for the Thirdwire games, now completely overhauled using everything I've learned about modding over the past year. This update gives the ship full compatibility with the SF2:NA/March 2012 patch game engine. It includes features such as working fore and aft Standard Missile launchers, new effects, optimized collision mesh, and helo deck that doesn't turn the ship unsinkable. Note that these updates may not be compatible with earlier versions of the game.

  10. CG-52 Ticonderoga class Aegis cruiser

    This model represents the Baseline 2 Ticonderoga class cruisers (CG-52~CG-58), in service from 1986 to present (upgrades and refits notwithstanding). These were the first vessels to be equipped with a vertical launch system (VLS), granting vastly increased capability and adaptability. With over 120 long-range highly accurate missiles, this vessel is by far the single most dangerous GroundObject ever released for the ThirdWire games.

    Both air defense and land attack versions of the ship are included, as well as name and hull number decals for each ship of the class, plus the necessary sounds, guns, and weapons. Note: The weapon systems, collision mesh, and decals have been updated for compatibility with SF2: North Atlantic and the March 2012 patch. If you have not installed/do not plan to install either, this model will not work properly. See the readme file for full details.

    This model represents the Baseline 3 and 4 Ticonderoga class cruisers (CG-59~CG-73), in service from 1988 to present (upgrades and refits notwithstanding). This baseline of the ship is equipped with a number of upgrades, including an improved SPY-1B radar, SARTIS sensors, and missile systems.

  12. CGN-25 USS Bainbridge

    This model represents the USS Bainbridge, the only ship of her class, in service from 1962 to 1996. She is based on the Leahy class missile cruiser, but modified to use nuclear power.

    This package contains three versions of the Bainbridge, separated into the major refits the class underwent during its service life:
    As built in 1962: Equipped with Terrier missiles and two 3" twin turrets
    AAW refit circa 1976: Terriers replaced with SM-1ER, 3" guns replaced with Harpoon launchers, electronics updated to support new missiles

  13. Cruise missile update pack for SF2:NA

    This package includes 97 third-party weapons which I have updated to SF2:NA standards, adjusting for real-world specifications where possible. These include every single cruise missile that I have in my collection, plus a few exotic variants of them (i.e. Soviet anti-radiation versions) which I've tweaked for consistency.

    Some of the weapons are by me, but the vast majority were from the SF2 Ordnance Shop pack. Kudos and credits to the original modellers. If you made one of these items and would like individual credit, do not hesitate to contact me. And if you have more cruise missiles or updated models for existing ones, please let me know right away.

    Note: These weapons now use the new cruise missile data type from SF2:NA, so they will NOT work with earlier versions of the game.

  14. DDG-1000 Zumwalt class destroyer

    This model represents the Zumwalt class, the United States Navy's newest and most advanced warship, currently under construction and scheduled to enter service in 2015.
    Originally intended to replace the retired Spruance class, due to excessive costs the DDG-1000 order was eventually cut back to only three ships. While still touted as multi-role vessels, the Zumwalt's primary role will be naval fire support. As such it will be a long overdue replacement for the Iowa class. The game data for this model has been designed to reflect this mission.

    I did my best to make this ship as unique and revolutionary in-game as it is in real life. In addition to its heavy missile armament (with four data.ini files for different loadouts included), the Zumwalt is armed with an advanced gun system which can hit targets further away than any other ground object ever released for the Strike Fighters series. The model also features a spacious helicopter deck, original sound effects, and a few cosmetic easter eggs.

    See the readme for full details. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or constructive criticisms regarding this model, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you!

  15. DDG-173 Kongo class Aegis destroyer

    This model represents the Kongo class destroyers (DDG-173~DDG-176), in service with the JMSDF from 1993 to present. They are based on the Arleigh Burke class, with a significantly longer hull, higher superstructure, and indigenous Japanese systems. The Kongo and successor Atago (coming soon to SF2) are the most advanced and powerful warships in Asia and among the largest destroyers in the world.

    This model has been almost completely rebuilt and retextured compared to my previous version (3.7), and like the real thing she can now lead JMSDF task groups comprised of the Takanami, Murasame, Asagiri, and Hatsuyuki. As with my other vessels, I have included authentic name and hull number decals for each ship of the class, plus the necessary sounds, guns, and weapons. See the readme file for full details.

    An experimental data file is included, labelled "DDG-173_EX.ini" (The "EX" stands for "experimental" as well as "extremely dangerous.") This sacrifices the cool-looking vertical launch for a significantly more accurate multi-target system that better reflects the actual performance of an Aegis destroyer. Use whichever you prefer, depending on if realistic visuals or realistic performance is more important to you. An optional assisted takeoff mode for helicopters is also included on the flight deck.

  16. DDG-51 Arleigh Burke class Aegis destroyer (Flight I & II)

    This model represents the Arleigh Burke class destroyers Flight I (DDG-51~DDG-71) and Flight II (DDG-72~78), in service from 1991 to present (upgrades and refits notwithstanding). They are among the largest and most heavily armed destroyers in the world.

    As with my previous Aegis vessels, two different versions are included (air defense and land attack), as well as name and hull number decals for each ship of the class, plus the necessary sounds, guns, and weapons. An optional data file allowing multiple simultaneous engagements is included. See the readme file for full details.

This is bugged in single missions (as the ship number can't be changed in the mission editor), so select a specific texture set with the hull number you want.
    If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or constructive criticisms regarding this model, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you!

  17. DDG-79 Arleigh Burke class Aegis destroyer (Flight IIA)

    This model represents the Arleigh Burke class destroyers Flight IIA (DDG-79~DDG-88) and Flight IIA+ (DDG-89~112), in service from 2000 to present. They are among the largest and most heavily armed destroyers in the world. This package is intended as a companion piece to my original Flight I Arleigh Burkes, thus completing the entire class of ships.

    As with my previous Aegis vessels, I've included name and hull number decals for each ship of the class, plus the necessary sounds, guns, and weapons. An optional data file allowing multiple simultaneous engagements is included. See the readme file for full details.

  18. Essex class (long-hull) aircraft carrier

    This model represents the long-hull straight-deck Essex class aircraft carriers, beginning with CV-14 USS Ticonderoga circa 1944. These ships were about 5 meters longer than the original CV-9 Essex, and featured heavier anti-aircraft armament.

    Two versions of the ship are included: The original WW2 configuration, and the jet-capable Korean War era modernization. Decals for each unit are included. Random aircraft parking has been designed for currently available models with folding wings.

    In addition to its complement of aircraft, each ship is armed with a battery of twin 5" guns and single 5" guns, plus a vast number of 40mm Bofors and 20mm Oerlikon anti-aircraft guns.

    Please see the readme for full details and credits. Because this is a very high-poly, high-definition model, instructions are also included to improve framerate for those of us without premium supercomputers.

    This model is dedicated to Wrench, who requested it, and who provides us with great playgrounds for all our toys.

  19. F-15DJ skin pack

    This is a package of high-resolution (4096x4096) textures for the F-15DJ in its current JASDF livery, representing the 23rd Squadron and 202nd Squadron. Authentic squadron markings and serial decals for each of the currently operational F-15DJ aircraft are included.

    As the texture is designed exclusively for the F-15DJ_97 from the F-15 Super Pack, you need to download and install that pack first if you haven't already.

    IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to save CombatAce's bandwidth and your hard drive space, the main texture files have been placed in the aircraft folder instead of each skin folder, since every squadron has identical skins aside from decals and markings.
    This will not overwrite or override any existing skins. Any textures placed in individual skin folders will take precedence over what's in the main folder, so other texture sets should still work fine.

  21. F-15J skin pack

    This is a comprehensive collection of skins for the JASDF F-15J (as featured the SF2 F-15 super pack here). Eight different real-life squadrons are featured, each with authentic squadron patches and serial numbers, bringing this aircraft model up to the same level of fidelity as the American versions. (The existing aggressor skins look cool, certainly, but they are not representative of front-line aircraft.)

    These skins are also compatible with the modernized F-15J Kai model (F-15J_97), so if you use both, just drag and drop the texture folders into either or both aircraft as you like.
    Decals, texture modifications, hangar screen and loading photographs by Nengajou Aki. Packaged and uploaded by WhiteBoySamurai. The author has given permission to include these skins in freeware mods and future F-15 package updates.

  23. F-35J

    In December of 2011, the F-35 was officially chosen to replace Japan's aging F-4 fleet. The F-35J is scheduled to enter service in 2016. Final assembly and perhaps eventually licence production will be handled by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

    This package includes three different high-resolution skins representing currently proposed paint schemes. Currently included squadron markings are for the 301st Fighter Squadron from Nyutabaru Air Base, one of the first units expected to receive the new aircraft.

    Note 1: Several avionics modifications were (selfishly) made by me to better represent the powerful AESA radar set in the F-35. Feel free to use the original F-35 avionics.ini if you prefer.

    Note 2: Some essential weapons (some from the community Ordnance Pack, others created by yours truly) are included, but be sure to download the JASDF Weapons Pack for more!

  24. F-4EJ skin pack

    This is a package of high-resolution skins including authentic serial numbers and patches for the F-4EJ and F-4EJ Kai created by my friend and Phantom expert Nengajou Aki. Nineteen different skins from ten different squadrons are included.
    These skins may be used with the Mirage Factory F-4EJ pack (http://combatace.com...4ej-super-pack/), and are also compatible with the ThirdWire DLC version with minor adjustments.

    Every major JASDF squadron to fly the Phantom is represented here, some separated by year, with the greatest and most realistic detail possible. These are large skins, so resize them or convert them to jpeg or dds if you need to.
    Note: You may notice that serial numbers are not restricted by squadron. This is intentional, as aircraft frequently change squadrons within the JASDF.

    Optional files are included such as data.ini (mostly for custom engine sounds and pilots), avionics.ini (gun angle tweak), and loadout.ini (including naval strike ASM setups). Sundowner has given permission to overwrite original versions of these files.
    Entries for JASDF squadrons missing from the stock Squadronlist.ini are also available. Please add them manually or look for the latest community updates in the "SF2 Realism Mod" thread at CombatAce.

    At the time of this writing, only three of the class have been comissioned for the French Navy, but at least nine are planned. Two have been sold to foreign navies (Morocco and Egypt). The Italian FREMM differs significantly in loadout and mission, and is not included in this package.

    The Aquitaine is armed with a super-rapid 76mm gun, 20mm Narwhal remote weapons, eight MM40 Block 3 Exocet missiles, and 32 Aster 15 SAMs in Sylver VLS. (The sound effect for the Aster missiles is taken from actual test footage.) The flight deck can support one medium helicopter.

    See the readme for full details and credits. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or constructive criticisms regarding this model, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you!

    Special thanks to FRPignon for the hull number decals.
