It devided the Elsass (Alsace) from Lothringen. The Elsass was till 1648 german, from 1648 to 1871 french and became german again in 1871. When the great war broke out french armies tried to attack from Fortress Belfort in direction of Mühlhausen (Muhlhouse), but had no real success. Also along the hills of the Vogesen mountains the war was hard and bitter. The german soldier fought here on german soil to defend the civilists in the Elsass lowlands, very often only some steps away from the last hills from where you have a beautifull look over the towns and villages. Very hard were the fights around the hill Hartmannsweilerkopf (Hartmannswillerkopf). I gave the towns and villages their old german names, to represent the time of the great war. This is not expression of desires of revanche which poissend the relations between germans and french since the french engagement during the 30 years war (1618 - 48). I'm glad that this bitter times are over and germans and french call friends each other. Vogesen Terrain is still a Beta. Only the southern part of the terrain is finished.   3. My work in Progress is the Vogesen Terrain, the area from the Swiss Border up to Metz, including Elsass Lothringen. Its in an early development phase. I know Edward has Flandern Terrain on the board and it is 60% done.
  4. Unique and very safe for the pilots. Had an astonishing armour for its time
  5. terrain building is time consuming. Be a little bit patient. There will come something. At the moment i'm not sure wheter i will find the time for a WW1 mod of my BoB terrain. But i think it could happen.
  6. I think it runs now. I uninstalled the game again, then i made a completely new installation. Then i tried it again, but now with graphics set only to medium and now it seems to be a stable game. It pity, that i cant use the high graphic quality, but i think better a lower quality and a stable game than in opposite game. Thanks for all advices.
  7. Dagger, i have a clean installation of FE, no mods. I guess it could be a graphic card related problem. I have a Radeon X850XT. When the problem appered the first time it always happend on german planes. Perhaps the game engine hates german planes ;-)
  8. Now it becomes funny. The computer freezes now not more after crash, but if i press ALT+N after accomplished mission. Strange!
  9. Charles. It does not help. But the gameplay itself is stable. It freezes only after plane crashes. There is no way to leave the program with ESC or Alt+Q. Only help is to pull out the plug from the socket.
  10. I doubt, that the romanians or even the israelis have the software to guide the R-77. Of course you can hang a R-77 on the pylons, but firing is completly different thing. If you would say, that the Lancer got the capability to fire the AMRAAM i would understand it. Perhaps the American sold this missiles and its guidance software. But i doubt that the russians sold the R-77 Adder software to Romania.
  11. Always if i crash a plane or I was shot down my computer is hanging up. The only help is restarting the system. Has someone an idea, how to fix it? Config Intel2,8MHz 2GB RAM Radeon X850XT
  12. I think you mix something. The Lancer is not BVR capable. There is no R-77 support by radar and also no R-73 capability. The Lancer can use the Sidewinder, but no modern russian waepons. In so far it is inferior to the 21/93.
  13. Do you use the latest patch of SFP1? If not, perhaps it could help to switch off the new watereffects (Water detail set to low or medium)

  16. Please test it also with the other stock planes. Perhaps it is also a problem with the desert tileset that cause the CTD. At the moment i rework the tileset, to solve some problems. Perhaps it is responsible for your problem too.
  17. I would think the MiG-21/93 update program which is in indian service under the name MiG-21BISON would be much better. R-77, R-73 missiles and a wide range of modern air to ground weapons. Much better than the Lancer
  18. Do you has installed all files? It seems to be, that something is missing in the game. If so, please test it with a stock plane like the F-4E. Could be, that the planes cause the crash. But the most of this birds i use myself without problems. When did the game crashes? On the runway? or during loading? Does it run if you start in the air?
  19. I tested it now more than one hour and i had never had this problem. I guess you have not installed the latest patch of WOV. But this is no problem. Open file Israel2_targets.ini in terrain/Israel2 folder with Windows Notepad editor. The press STRG+H replace desert_airfield with vietnamSEA_airfield and Press Enter. Then save the file. Should help. If not, please post here.
  20. I will see what i can do, but all my tests with WOV showed no problems on my system. 2 Questions. Does it happen on all runways? Or only at some runways? Which planes do you use. Sometimes the problem is not caused by the terrain, but by the thrid party planes.

    Desert terrain tileset for Israel 2 Beta This is a fast developed Beta version for WOV and WOE users who have no SFP1 stock terrain. It contains a modified version of the Stock terrain with all additional terraintiles i made for Israel2 terrain. The most terrain tiles have 512x512 pixel size instead 256x256 in the stock terrain.   23. The objectlist.ini i have changed a little bit. I increased the number of groundobjects, to avoid, that targets, like SAM, Flak, Buildings disappear on the map. And the young lion rumours. One is certain. The Kfir is coming. The development is on a good way.
  24. Israel 2 terrain View File ISRAEL 2 Terrain version 2.0 23.Dezember 2006 ===================== Israel Terrain INSTALLATION instruction: 1.) unzip all files into your Strike Fighters folder 2.) If you use WOV open WOV folder and copy file Israel2.ini into Israel2 folder 3.) If you use WOE open WOE folder and copy file Israel2.ini into Israel2 folder For WOE and WOE you must download a desert terrain tileset seperatly! *************************************************** The first versions of Israel terrain for SFP1 were very successfull. They were downloaded in high numbers from C6, Combatace, Avsim and other sources, but i was never really satisfied with it. The reason was, that the size of Israel terrain was only 60% of reality. With the new terrain editor tool TK offered to the community i was able to make a terrain that is nearly correct scaled. But i had to rebuild the terrain completly from the scratch. As promised i release the new terrain now short before Christmas. What is new? *Completly new terrain with enlarged size. It covers now also Cyprus and Lebanon *additional terraintiles (Canal, Mountainwoood) *airfields with multiple runways *new designed SAM fence along the Suez Canal the SAM Complex west of the Bitter Lake (Osiris) i designed using a report about the big air to SAM battle in 1970 between the Israelis and the Egytians. So Osiris should be more or less historical correct. The positions of the other networkes (Ra, Isis, Sala Uhudin) are more or less fiction. I also reduced the number of SAM sites, as requested by some players. *number of target areas is now 292 (212 in the preview, 128 in Israel v1.5) * I include a smoothed terrain height data file in folder Israel2/Smooth. Personaly i prefer the more rough standard terrain, but if you like a smooth terrain copy file Israel2.hfd from folder Israel2/Smooth into Israel2 folder * I included also updated Panzer files. The T-34,T-54,T-55,T-62 have now coaxial machineguns and their performance is now a little bit more real. *The SAM Fence along the Suez Canal now consits only between 1970 - 1976. In 1977 the Egyptians changed their AD startegy from area defence to point defence. I want to say thank you to all guys who supported Israel2 terrain with ideas, hints, files and good wishes. Thanks to Polak for the Pontons and the Pyramids, Gecko6 for the Coolingtowers, thanks to the guy who made the factory complex some years ago (I forgot his name) and of course TK for the terrain editor and the great SFP1 flight sim.
