  1. Thanks for posting this Dave. And the best thing is if you have the combo pack installed you only need to run the patch once and it updates each of the seperate installs i.e. not just SF2, but SF2:V, SF2:E and SF2:I also. TK is indeed 'The Man'
  2. I tried that and got no joy, I also extracted the various terrainDATA.ini files but they are exactly the same as Fubar's post above, so there is nothing for me to change. This is a problem I've got with the stock terrains. I haven't got as far as adding any other terrains to my 2nd Gen installs. If this is something I've got to live with then so be it until I upgrade.
  3. I'm getting a weird effect near coastlines and along rivers in all the SF2 games. I'm running the combo pack and these pics are from SF2:Israel, but the same thing happens in the others too. I don't see this when playing the first gen. games, even with the graphics settings exactly the same (customized, based on high settings). My current graphics card is: Accelerator in Use: Mobile Intel® 945GM Express Chipset Family Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  4. Thanks Dave. I'm up and running!
  5. Have looked over on Wrench's site? Plenty of pilot skins there... http://wrench1smog.com/wrench2.html http://wrench1smog.com/wrench14.html Your's looks really great. I'll definitely be downloading it for my Wings Over Korea install.
  6. I'm looking at the members' blogs down the right side of the CA forums and I thought that it would be a nice project for me to move my long lost Israeli Air Force thread to one of those. I can then post screenies, file links etc and keep it updated as new mods are released without resurrecting the thread or going to the fuss of setting up a website. If anyone has any WIPs they could let me know and I can then post them. And I could have a link to the blog in my sig. too. But I can't see any buttons for 'start new blog' or something similar either in the blogs section or on my profile pages, unless I'm missing something - which is very possible! So how do I do it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  7. Are you going to do Israeli B & D models too?

  12. Looks like you may have made the right decision not to buy it. The comments are pretty bad.. http://www.rowthree.com/2010/01/29/review-attack-on-leningrad/ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0432314/
  13. Well, my mate made it back from his Great Trek. He's written a book about his adventures http://www.amazon.co.uk/Search-Life-Motorcycle-Odyssey/dp/0956476503/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1265212456&sr=8-14 I'm going to have to get it because his blog got blocked when he crossed the border into China, I wanted to find out what happened next and he won't tell me! Disaster struck when he got home though! http://www.burytimes.co.uk/news/4738090.Globe_trotting_bike_taken_during_short_trip_to_store/?ref=rss (edited for spelling mistake)
  14. I remember reading somewhere, but I don't remember where, that the best pilots were moved up to the newest planes, so your A-4 pilot could have moved to F-16s. I also know a pilot who served in 1982 who flew A-4s. I spoke to him about his experiences once and seem to remember that he was fairly newly qualified at the time and he said that once he was more experienced he would be moved on to more advanced aircraft. He told me about having to hit targets accurately in urban Beirut with only dumb bombs when the targets (mortars, heavy machine guns, ammo dumps etc) were pretty close to civilian targets such as schools, mosques, churches etc or firendly troops. He said that it was pretty hairy to start with but that they got so proficient that the ground units started to request them specifically rather than wait for an aircraft armed with LGBs or a helicopter gunship with TOWs.
  15. Maybe merge this with Julhelm's thread?
  16. Has anyone got Mitchell Gant's phone number?
  17. Many happy returns!
  18. Looks like the new F-31 will have something to escort...
  19. lol - Dave, maybe you should change your name from USAFMTL to Goose!
  20. Looks great! That skin's not from the old Airfix 1/72 kit is it?
  21. It would have been nice with a skull and crossbones on the tail!
  22. I've not used this campaign but the name suggests that it's for SF2 rather than SF2E. Or at least for a merged install that includes the desert terrain.
  23. Can Baltika's reply be added to the KB and\or as a sticky to the propheads forum? With the link to Wrench's how to set up a seperate install and the main WW2 links it's that good.
  24. OK, let's say you have WOE installed in c\Thirdwire\Wings Over Europe and want to create a WW2 European theatre install:- 1) Navigate to the Thirdwire folder, right click on the Wings Over Europe folder and 'copy', then move your mouse to a free space in the Thirdwire folder, right click and 'paste' 2) Next rename your new Wings Over Europe folder to something like Wings Over Europe WW2ETO, go into the folder and send the WOE.exe to the desktop as a shortcut to that install, and rename the shortcut accordingly so you don't get mixed up on your desktop. You could also change the icon to something more appropriate too. 3) Now the fun bit. In your new Wings Over Europe WW2ETO folder you'll need to go into the objects\aircraft and objects\ground objects folders and delete all the modern stuff and doenload and install the WW2 planes, tanks, ships etc you want, together with the appropriate skins, pilots etc. 4) A WW2 weapons pack should round things off nicely. 5) You can make as many installs as you like, for WW2 Pacific or Med. action, or any other theatre or era that we have mods available for. For a WW1 install it's even simpler - buy First Eagles!
