Does Anyone Mind LONG Distances In This Sim?

Well we can always alt-n. Unless there are mountains in the way! -
Great stuff guys. Looking forward to all of these. Are you doing the single seat F\A-18E to partner the newly released awesome F model?

I just saw you Craig! Flying your Islander over the Channel - overflew a liner didn't you? Cool photography and a really interesting programme that I'm watching as I type. -
No problem. There will be a delay in getting these updates and the He-111H1 version posted at Capun's site because he's laid up with broken ribs. There's a get well soon thread over at the site if anyone wants to pop over there to wish him a speedy recovery.

You beat me to it! Talk about a game being 'ripped from tomorrow's headlines...'

What happened to all of the A-6 squadrons?
allenjb42 replied to allenjb42's topic in Military and General Aviation
Thanks guys. Don't get me wrong, I know why the A-6 was retired, all about the A-12 debacle and the advantages of the Superhornet over it's predecessor. I was just lamenting the loss of the history and traditions of the A-6 units and wondering why some of those units weren't retained to receive the Superhornet, that's all. -
I've updated the He-111H2, H3, H4 and H8 to bring them up to the same standard as Capun's versions (P, H5 and H6) in terms of packaging, FM and damage modelling. They're a lot easier to shoot down, and to be shot down in if you're flying them! They'll also explode when they hit the ground from a steep angle, and if they come in at a shallow angle they will belly flop, skid along the ground, and then will usually explode. I've also sent Capun a He-111H1, based on his He-111P. It's virtually the same aircraft, except the H1 had Junkers Jumo 211 engines, as opposed to the P's Daimler-Benz DB601 engines. Defensive armament is pretty light too, with just nose, dorsal and ventral machine guns. The included skin is for an aircraft from Stab. KG26, based in Germany in 1939. This particualr aircraft was shot down near Edinburgh during the last week of October that year. There lots more He-111 skins to come, covering Europe, the Med. and the Eastern Front.

Can we have a screenshot please? Thanks.

What happened to all of the A-6 squadrons?
allenjb42 posted a topic in Military and General Aviation
Did the Marine A-6 units move on to the F\A-18D? And why didn't the Navy units get the F\A-18F instead of the former Tomcat squadrons? Didn't they think Navy Intruder crews could do air to air? I know that there was a gap between the A-6 being retired and the Superhornet two seaters coming on line, but not that long, and some historical squadrons (not to mention cool skinning options!) appear to have been lost. -
Veltro2K's got a Voodoo in his lineup too!

Spitfire celebrates 70th anniversary
allenjb42 replied to allenjb42's topic in Military and General Aviation
I always thought that they should have named the Eurofighter 2000 'Spitfire', instead of Typhoon. -

Saw this in the paper at the weekend so I thought I'd post it in this thread. I know it's a bit real world but there's a pic that can form the basis of a skin. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10...fghanistan.html -

Strike Fighters/Wings Over Vietnam/Wings Over Europe etc Mi-24 skins readme All credit for these skins goes to their creators as detailed below. All I've done is to re-format them for SF\WOV\WOE and add a textureSet to each skin. Not all of the countries for which we have skins are included in the standard NATIONS.ini list, so I've left those as Soviet. It doesn't make any difference to the skins' appearance as there are no decals to worry about. If you have the New Nations mod that includes these missing countries then feel free to modify the relevant TextureSet. All you need to do is to extract the skin to your Objects\Aircraft\Mi-24 folder, then go fly and blow up some stuff. Thanks must go to the A Team for making the Mi-24 for SF\WOV\WOE, Tim Conrad for the original Mi-24V, and of course TK for giving us these great sims to play with. This skin is based on Tim Conrad's textures. Enjoy, and good hunting Allen ps You can use these skins in any mods, campaigns etc, but please name check me and the original skinners in your credits as a courtesy. Thanks pps Here is a list of Mi-24 operators, together with the versions that they use, to assist you in adding skins to the most appropriate helicopter: About 700 in Russian Army service, most with helicopter attack regiments of Mi-8/17s and Mi-24s. You should be able to set up assymetrical loading fairly easily by editing the DATA.ini Looks like the DS team have got one of the main players for a sequel OIF campaign. After DS has been released of course.

Just a thought. How about renaming this thread the Superhornet skins thread so anyone working on a skin or who wants to comment can join in? Then we wont get clogged up with multiple F\A-18F skin threads.

Looks good Sid. You doing low viz birds too?
