But then we Chung Kou is over 20 years old and the Taiwanese pilot's will know what it can do better than a Chinese pilot who has been flying a J-10 for 6 months or so... Pilot skill comes into it a lot... Someone once said a Good pilot in a mediocre plane will always beat a bad pilot in a great plane... but nowadays it's all push button and the Chinese if they attack Taiwan will go in mob handed and outnumber the Taiwanese Air Force 5 to one... but hey lets not go there...

I am ex-military and when I left the RAF finding a job was difficult at the time the paper's where full of stories of squaddies getting drunk and trashing stuff... Thankfully those times have changed and the majority of employer's in the UK appreciate ex-servicemen and women for the skill's that they can provide that no civilian job would allow to be created and used... I am not talking about the weapons etc but more the work ethic as well as the ability to get the job done no matter what the odds... and that they accept that you may be slightly damaged goods shall I say... But they realise what a bargin they get... Whereas this low-life though in a way I commend him for his stand for about a nanosecond needs to realise that the military is there to do a job just as his sure to go bust company is doing whatever it's doing but his isn't a daily requirement whereas a strong armed forces no matter how unpalatable it may seem are required 24 hours a day 365 days a year. If for example a foreign military started operating on UK Soil he would be there wanting the military to defend him... it makes me sick and I would like to introduce him to Mr A International and his 7.62mm friend... Sorry if this makes no sense as I get a bit miffed about people like this as in slightly annoyed bit like when the coffee machine break's down first thing in the morning...

Dealing with Fire
Slartibartfast replied to TempestII's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
As my old Parachute instructor once said if your Chute's fail... when you hit the ground hold on as its the bounce that kills you... he was twisted that way... And A-10's dont glide too well as they have a few ton's to deal with the tanks... Would be nice to be able to shut individual engines down there's many a time I have had a silk let down in the SF series because I cant stop a motor... -
Yeah I loved watching Mission Impossible on TV when I was a kid... And as for Airplane who can't enjoy that made me laugh out loud the first time and still does... RIP for doing a wonderful job of entertaining us... Operator: [Captain Oveur is on the phone with the Mayo Clinic] Excuse me, Captain Oveur, but I have an emergency call on line 5 from a Mr. Hamm. Captain Oveur: Alright, give me a Hamm on 5, hold the Mayo.

What he said above as the C-17 doesn't match the lifting and range ability of the C-5... So when does Boeing release a stretched version of the C-17 with more power to lift more...??? To be honest surprised they havn't done so already

Over here in little old Blighty we may be beset by idiots in power and people protesting and calling our Soldiers baby killers etc... Done as charity event and said to have raised £75000 for Aghan Hero's... :good: :good:

I watched both these movies tonight for the first time... It seems that whenever the chance to watch them has been around I have been unable to do so... They are both very very good movies in my opinion and outclass Saving Private Ryan as they look at the whole and not just the one... And I cannot find fault with either of them they where both expertly made... And the way they are means that nether of them is poorer for watching the other if that makes sense... Also they where both well acted with the actor's allowed to act instead of letting the CGI get in the way as it sometimes does with war films... Was a pleasure to spend 5 and a half hours watching them...

Why had I never tried this before?
Slartibartfast replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I will admit Olham that I run mine on those settings and I have the same video card as you... and its a pure visual treat... Sometimes its just pleasant to take a plane up and just stooge about... -
From what little I can understand and I maybe (Most likely) wrong it seems as though in certain flight regime's the F-5 beats the Mig-21bis. The Soviets admitting to it...

Slartibartfast replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Good point there as well Von Paulus and to you Olham sometimes because its old doesnt mean it needs a fix and you are right... so no there is nothing wrong with thinking like that... Heck I have finally moved to fuel injection on my new motorbike... :yikes: -
